Just started using this app. Was starting to like it but then it stopped producing any type of sound.

Have tried five times to sign up for account. Always says request timed out. Tried on their website as well. Won’t show the exercises I need to do on the goals page. 0% functionality currently

Might be fine for someone who already knows music. However, if you are trying to learn as a beginner, even if it’s beginner exercises, don’t make any sense. Uninstalled.

There are no identifying qualifiers on your a and b choices. It’s ridiculous. And I was getting excited.

The chord tones sound very tinny and the sustain on the chords are outright horrible. If this doesn’t get fixed I will be forced to use a different ear training app. Please change this for the sake of your users. Thank you

The app is otherwise great, but the pitches are sometimes utterly wrong and it drives me insane. Why can’t yall get the most basic thing correct?

This is just an app that plays scales and intervals without actually telling you what is what and then gives you multiple choices. There's exactly zero instruction. Halfway through the modes unit, I had to stop. Once I got to locrian which is the 7th it adds, and didn't describe any of the last 6 so you have no idea what to listen for, I just stopped because you're just brute force guessing for 100 questions until you manage to get 9/10 in a row and it adds a new mystery scale. You're just supposed to guess. Like how is this considered helpful? Just add new things without even explaining them at all?

This is hurting a lot of new learners. Especially the perfect 4th and perfect 5th intervals, a lot of them are incorrect. Play the same notes they show on a real keyboard and it is way off.

If you have any ear training at all you’ll get bored quick.

This app is good and I use it daily. My main complaint is with the quality of the sounds used. I know this is a free app but I’d rather they charge me for it and update the quality of the instruments they use. Sometimes notes that they have recorded are different durations so ear training with chords is sometimes challenging as some notes cut out quickly while others keep ringing. The issue with quality becomes more apparent the farther you get from “two-line C” There’s also instances during interval identification where they will play 1 note so you will click “unison” as that would be the correct answer. It will comeback incorrect and the playback to hear the answer plays two notes the root and an octave. I have discovered that anytime I hear unison if I click replay a few times it will eventually play the octave note - if no octave occurs then is in fact unison and not a bug. I do really like this app and think it is a fantastic tool. But I would absolutely love to see/hear improvements even if that means paying.

Rhythm dictation portion would be better with rests. Quarter note, half note, quarter note sounds more like quarter note, quarter note, quarter rest quarter note

First it asks what level you are: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Then, even if you choose advanced, it gives you a long series of VERY beginner-level ear training questions before letting you move on. For reference, I’ll play things like these ear training questions for 4- and 5-year old kids and they get them right—two Cs (at the unison) then a C and a G (an ascending perfect 5th), and ask which interval was larger. Why ask people what level they are if they all have to do a long series of questions that are appropriate for 4-year-old students? I have no patience for something that will waste time like that.

This is the best music app that I ever downloaded

This app provides such an incredibly immersive experience untie at training. The depth you can go here is incredible. I find it perfect to study all of the intervals from the very basics even, and gradually find my baseline. And I can isolate that very specific interval with this app and really hammer in the repetitions. And then I take the tests in here. And you can make these tests incredibly complex, even changing the BPM of the tests. It’s great! And the tests can be short quizzes or long exams, options for 20 questions, 50 questions, and 100 questions. This will be added into my daily routine of studying and then take it to the guitar for practical applications. Just such a great companion for studying music while away from the instrument. Studying it right before bed is a great way to fall asleep, and almost guaranteed to be a powerful way to store it into deep memory.

I’m on the road a lot for work, and when I don’t have an instrument OR the time to sit at one, I can still build necessary music skills with this app. The structure is good, and it feels like enough of a game to keep me hooked. And, it’s extremely affordable!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this app to the moon and back!!! This ear training app features crystal-clear audio and has helped me to overcome my fear of ear training. It’s been an absolute musical lifesaver. I hope the developers maintain this app, because it’s second to none by far!

It’s a very useful and intuitive app but very buggy. Using this on my iPhone ProMax 15 and my IPad Pro 11 and keys constantly get stuck with a whiney tone to them. I have to press the key again to get the high pitched sound to stop. Also the keys don’t always play when I touch them, and sometimes they just kinda “donk” with a dull sound, or they’ll even play a couple of beats when I touch them. Annoying… like to think is was just a device problem but it happens frequently on both

Very accessible and easy to use, with great practice exercises for beginner to advanced musicians.

Very easy way to learn to recognize intervals and scales. Very configurable: you can set it up to focus on the things you need to learn, and make it harder or easier by expanding or shrinking the range of things that it will present to you.

love how simple this is

This app used to present a test where you would identify whether a played interval was sharp or flat. It’s disappointing that they’ve removed that.

There's nothing wrong with the lessons or anything, but it lost one star because it keeps glitching!!! When I'm in the middle of a lesson, every now and then it just auto-exits it without actually saving my progress!!

wish there was a way to tip the developer

As a teacher, this saves a lot of time, gives us a lot of customizable settings. A very solid app for intervals, rhythm dictation, and melodic dictation up to early intermediate level. I’ll be happy to pay 10$ for a one time purchase, although I wouldn’t buy it without the ability to to try it first.

I’m learning solfège and ear training - this app is super helpful with learning and drilling scales and chords. This and the functional ear trainer are my two cherished music learning apps.

I have downloaded and experimented with a bunch of ear training apps. This one is by far the best I've found. It allows you to configure exercises with much greater precision and variety. It combines visual (sight reading) and aural learning. It can take you from absolute beginner up through very sophisticated and challenging levels. And its user interface is intuitive and easy. My only complaint is that the "support" button on my version seems to be broken, and the only way I have found to reach out to the developers is through their Facebook page. But I definitely recommend this app!

I like this app, it lets you make a daily routine around ear training easily, and I mainly use it for interval identification/ developing relative pitch. Tho I wouldn’t use this app for any transcription practice, The metronome is not consistent for the rhythmic features and takes awhile before anything challenging comes up, you’re better off just getting Musescore and transcribing melodies yourself. But for developing note identification, it works great 👍

This is hands down my favorite app on my phone. Allows me to customize and fit some ear training on the go in my daily life anywhere.

From chord progressions to single note intervals this app has everything needed to do a deep dive into ear training. Someone who really cares built this app and it shows. After a long long time I’m getting back into playing and improvising and this app is helping immensely with honing my hearing. The work done on it is appreciated.

This is fun and easy while it progresses at a comfortable pace. I am really enjoying this course and it is helping me in my music classes as well. Thank you.

I could get 100% scores with the interval comparison training. When I moved to interval identification, I would score 10 or 20%. The program needs some gentle ramp between these two features

Love how well Earpeggio works, I play piano and it makes it so easy to play! It teaches you all the notes and intervals you need to know!

The keyboard often ( melodic dictation mode) in wrong place , because often leaps force you to carefully shift the range. I l, a long time pro , LIKE this app. But this idiosyncrasy makes IT awkward to use unless you are only working with a perfect fifth in the middle of the viewed keyboard. Please fix

Under the Practice section -> Chord Identification -> Advanced Seventh Chords— we have the following chord names: German, Till, Swiss, Tristan, French. These are all used incorrectly, except French. “Tristan” is a colloquialism, not an official term, but the chord is definitely not the Tristan chord, it’s just a minor 6 chord voiced in root position. “Till” is not a real term used by anybody. German and French are real terms used to described Augmented 6th chords but on the app the “German” is a V43 or otherwise a Dominant 7th chord in 3rd inversion, and the French is correctly used. The “Till” chord is a half diminished 7th in 2nd inversion. The Tristan chord is of course supposed to be a weirdly misspelled half diminished 7th chord with the third thrown up the octave, but this is not the case in the app. Don’t know who decided to write these names in but they’re all wrong, please fix that. There’s also a glitch where some buttons in the practice selection don’t work sometimes.

I tested several of the ear training apps available. Whoever designed this one has a good understanding of how people learn. It allows me to understand my mistakes and learn not to repeat them.

First off, this app really is great and doing it every day has noticeably improved my ear training. I recommend it to all my musician friends as the Duolingo of ear training. I have one piece of feedback that I really hope the devs will read: I get very frustrated when the level introduces a new idea, but the randomized nature of the exercises doesn’t actually give me reps on that idea. For example, let’s say level three was identifying unison, octave, and perfect fifth. Level four introduces a major third, but then the app only challenges me with identifying a M3 one time, and I pass the level purely by identifying the other three that I already know, and so I don’t feel like I have actually learned to identify a M3. Does that make sense? I wonder if there would be a way to weight the exercises so that the newest idea comes up the most frequently. The way it is now, I sometimes intentionally fail all of the unisons and octaves, just so I won’t pass that level too quickly. All this said, I really love this app and will continue to use it. Thanks for your hard work.

This app has been helping my ear training immensely! The exercises are great and if you take your time your ears will get so much better.

I just started this today. I think it will be good exercise. One suggestion, if I make the right decision on interval training, I don’t find out what interval the wrong answer was. It would be helpful to know that as well, to better understand the distinction.

Great app, good exercises, no ads, I am eternally grateful that something like this exists!

I played music when I was young, but haven’t really been heavily involved as an adult. I started taking singing lessons, and I thought that refreshing some of my pitch training would be helpful. The goal based interval identification, with exactly what I was looking for. it adds new intervals and complexity, and a pace that doesn’t rush you to the point where you’re getting things wrong in a demoralizing way, but does push you. I’ve been using the program for about a week and my singing instructor has already noticed a difference. I also sampled some of the other functionalities and found them to be similarly well paced. I haven’t used them enough to be able to truly comment.

Great for all types of musicians with a huge variety of exercises. Colors are subdued but fun to keep you engaged. Highly recommend!

This app is great i would gladly pay for just the melody dictation exercises. My two requests are 1) Add an option for different sounds other than piano. Example- bass guitar, saxophone, sine wave, ect. (They could be basic and rudimentary) 2) Please disable the “return to root note scroll” when you erase all notes- I often play 4 random notes to figure out the melody then erase and enter my answer. Erasing all the notes makes me have to scroll the keyboard again Thank you to the developers for their hardwork!
