TikTok has become one of the most frustrating and least transparent platforms I’ve ever used. Your account can suddenly lose reach for weeks with absolutely no explanation. There is no clear way to know whether you’re being limited, whether your content is under review, or whether the algorithm has simply decided to stop showing your videos. The age verification system is just as confusing. Users are left guessing who gets checked, why they get checked, and what triggers it. There is very little transparency, and support responses often feel automated and unhelpful. Creators spend time building accounts only to be left in the dark when something goes wrong. Instead of clear communication, users are forced to rely on rumors and speculation. A platform this large should provide clear explanations, better support, and more transparency about account restrictions and age verification.

I would like to provide feedback regarding a type of content that frequently appears on my TikTok feed. Lately, I have been seeing a growing number of AI-generated story videos that contain sexual or sexually suggestive themes. While these videos are often presented as entertainment, I do not believe this type of content is appropriate for a platform with such a broad and diverse audience. Even when I scroll past these videos or indicate that I am not interested, similar content continues to appear from different accounts. I understand that TikTok cannot control every user’s choices, and I understand that parents also have responsibility for monitoring what younger users view online and that, no age system is perfect, and exposure to inappropriate content can still happen. However, I believe platforms also have a responsibility to carefully consider what content is repeatedly recommended through their algorithm or allowed in general. My main concern is not simply that mature content exists on the platform. There is a difference between adults discussing real experiences or mature topics and AI-generated “story” content that turns sexual or suggestive situations into entertainment. These videos are often packaged using cartoon-like visuals, exaggerated storytelling, AI voices, and trending slang that is commonly associated with younger online audiences. Even when labeled as “18+,” the overall presentation does not always clearly align with content that is strictly intended for adults. What concerns me most is how frequently this type of content is recommended. It often feels less like something users occasionally encounter and more like content that is actively promoted through engagement-driven algorithms. I am not suggesting that all mature or adult topics should be removed, nor that adults should be restricted from content they choose to view. The issue is specifically with sexualized entertainment content that is repeatedly amplified in a highly accessible, trend-driven format on a platform used by a very wide age range. While I understand that no platform can completely eliminate exposure to mature content, I do believe there is a meaningful difference between content that exists on a platform and content that is repeatedly pushed through recommendations. There are already other platforms where users can intentionally seek out this type of sexual adult entertainment, and in my view, TikTok does not need to actively promote or amplify this type of content in a mixed-age environment. I am simply asking for more careful consideration of how this type of content is packaged, labeled, and recommended, especially when it may realistically reach younger users through the algorithm. I hope you will consider what I’ve shared, as I do believe this is an issue that is both noticeable and fixable through better recommendation and content distribution choices. I believe this is something worth highlighting. I am not asking for overreach or for everything to be heavily restricted, but rather for the platform to do its part in applying and reinforcing its own standards consistently. No system will ever be perfect, but I do believe it matters that reasonable steps are taken to reduce repeated exposure to content that may not be appropriate for a broad, mixed-age audience. If guidelines exist, they should have a meaningful effect in practice, especially on what is actively recommended and promoted. From my perspective, this is not about one specific video or creator, but about the overall responsibility that comes with curating content on a platform that has such a wide reach. I hope TikTok continues to take that responsibility seriously. Thank you and I hope you understood my perspective on this.

My TikTok won’t open, after a few seconds prior to opening the app, it shows the logo the closes. It’s not like my account is banned, the app won’t open. I’ve deleting then re-downloading the multiple times, but nothing works.

If you do not agree with our views, then confront them with reason and evidence, not with censorship, restrictions, and the silencing of voices. Truth does not fear debate, and what is right does not need censorship to protect it. Suppressing opposing opinions does not serve justice; it only raises more doubts about it. And if you do not fear God in what you do, then at least be free and fair in this world. Let people have the right to express what they believe, and let ideas compete through argument and evidence, not through suppression.

TikTok will not take down photos with gore or inappropriate photos in comment sections, TikTok will allow videos such as women giving birth, people dying, and racist or inappropriate content. Reporting on this app does nothing. TikTok will not listen to your report they will only say that the reported content “doesn’t violate any guidelines” even tho it’s a photo of someone dead or a photo or gif of porn. I would say this app isn’t safe for kids but honestly it’s not safe for anyone.

Hate speech and racism is MOST DEFINITELY tolerated by those who run and operate this app, there are things that are said by a specific ethnicity group (white people) towards another specific ethnicity group (African American people) with absolutely no consequences.

I just discovered my profile is not me any more, and has an e-mail account associated with it that is not mine, therefore I do not have the ability to close the account that comes up when “My Profile” is clicked. I enjoy a lot of wholesome content creators on Tik Tok, but I don’t enjoy how difficult it is to fix this problem.

TikTok is the absolute worst for businesses! Not only do they hide our reels, but we finally had our first order and they refunded the customer completely, and then charged us for it!!!! To be clear, the customer received the item, which was in perfect condition, nothing was wrong with it, the customer had no complaints, we shipped it out the same day she ordered it. TikTok claimed that it’s in their policy to refund the customer if you don’t update the info on TikTok- which we were NOT made aware of. They also said that they would send us a message every day for a business week before they’d refund the customer - THEY DID NOT SEND A SINGLE MESSAGE, and they refunded her within 5 business days, not 7, even though that’s also in their own policy. Talking with them through their chat is pointless. They closed the chat on us and said the issue was resolved. So we lost out on an $85 order and TikTok charged us an extra dollar just because! TikTok is only trying to get money out of you any way they can. Even if it’s through blocking your videos so people can’t see them unless you pay TikTok to get views. So now we are stuck with trying to reach out to the customer ourself which puts our small business in a tight position. It wasn’t the customer’s fault, yet TikTok refuses to do anything about it from their end.

tiktok is an overall great app but there report system needs to be better i got banned for telling someone “okay i dont wanna talk” so i reported them for body shaming me and they didnt get banned also this app is not for a younger adience because there are a lot of people that promote there only fans/ corn with a p and people can spam slurs and not get banned like the n word and the f word and also i posted my 14 year old friend and got my account deleted because they thought she was underage and ended up having to delete my whole account because i never got my direct messages back and i lost a 100+ streak because of it

This app is not useful to me at all. It encourages people, especially children and teenagers, to spend hours scrolling instead of doing other activities. Since my friend started using TikTok, she is constantly on it and often gets annoyed when I suggest doing something else together. The endless short videos make it very difficult to focus on real-life activities, hobbies, or conversations. In my opinion, the app is designed to keep users watching for as long as possible, and that can become unhealthy. I do not recommend it. I also don't understand the appeal of much of the content on this platform. Many of the videos that appeared in my feed were pointless, absurd, or even inappropriate. I often watched them and felt nothing but confusion. Meanwhile, my friend would spend hours laughing at them and scrolling endlessly.

I give tiktok 2 stars because when It come to recovering your account they don't do anything about it and make you confirm that your older than 13 but then make you a private account without being able to change it and I want my account back.

I live in a country whose language I do not speak or understand. TikTok has decided that my location matters more than my actual interests. My For You Page is constantly flooded with content in a language I do not understand and content I have repeatedly shown I do not want to see. I have pressed “Not Interested” countless times. I have cleared my cache. I have refreshed my feed. I have interacted only with content I enjoy. Nothing changes. The most frustrating part is that TikTok claims to have a smart recommendation algorithm. We live in a time where AI tools can understand complex requests instantly, yet TikTok cannot understand that if someone presses “Not Interested” over and over again, they do not want that content. Support was no help. I received generic automated responses, was told the issue would be reviewed, and then the conversation was closed. A recommendation system that ignores user feedback is not a recommendation system. It is forced content. This has completely ruined my experience with the app.

Also: We reviewed your report and found that scams don’t violate our community guidelines. 🤪 update: They have intentionally been ignoring appeal requests. I have reported this to Congress and the Supreme Court. It’s not legal. Why are you censoring our DM’s. Those are private. You’re not supposed to be looking at those. Terrible and I mean absolutely terrible moderation, favoritism towards bigger creators, Tiktok have a 18+ content option but when you start having 18+ conversations they ban you (non sexual) it can be a simple debate or maybe you just venting about something and they would ban you for it, it’s starting to look like AI moderation more than anything, if you are not considered well know be ready to get the short end of the stick with TikTok.

Some videos r low fps and yall make it way too difficult to report a problem like this in app so i have to leave it here 🤦🏾‍♂️

love tik tok!! this is truly a great platform however only one recommendation. Tik tok removed this one "glitch" where all the gray *removed videos* wouldn't be shown while you were scrolling through your favorites. to me it was really annoying seeing the grayed out videos and having to remove them manually. I would recommend at least a button or something that can delete all of those gray videos from time to time to clear up space and keep your saved/collections organized and enjoyable to go back to and watch!!! other than that nothing else to complain about <3

TikTok is a fun app and has many useful tips and features that could help you improve on something.and you can also get updated on new things

The automoderation I have seen on this app is genuinely saddening. I’m fully convinced it is targeted. I have seen people use the sticker feature for horrible things like promoting extremism and graphic real world violence. Videos that outright make jokes about real deaths. But TT will still strike and ban literally anything for the vague reason of “violating community guidelines.”

So it’s good that’s all I’m gonna stay because I’m lazy
