i loved having a free app to listen to police radio and see what’s going on around me but this is the first time i’m seeing it wanting me to watch an AD to listen to the police radio recording. it sucks i thought you were a good app but clearly you’re already getting greedy and money hungry. soon enough you’re gonna make a subscription to even see stuff and people will simply delete this app.

I used to truly enjoy using this app. Recently, ads have been added, and although I specify an area that I want to read about I get so many other areas that it is beginning to lose my interest. I specify the areas that I want to see, but I see many, many other areas. In the past, I would have rated this app as a five, but based on the recent changes, I read it as a two.

I get notices it happened three days ago one week and two weeks ago

Blurs and edits out names and addresses even though it’s a public feed. Useless.

I had really high hopes for this app, but it’s missing way too many basic functions. For example - you can’t sort stories by most recent. I open the app when I hear sirens, and I can’t actually see that story for days afterward. But I’m seeing stories from 1 month ago. Also, I have my location set but I’m getting reports from places 8-10 hours away from where I live.

Update: I see the developers don’t care about what users want. I’d be a paying user if there was an option to sort alerts by Most Recent. If there’s something going on today, what good is it to bury the most recent reports throughout past reports?? It’s just lazy developers. No subscription from me. ******* The app resets to 14 day results every time I open it. Frustrating that I have to go in and manually hit 24 hours EVERY time I open the app. Nobody wants to see two weeks of data every time. They want the latest. And I should be able to manually set the default location. If I click on the target, it shows where I am on the map and then sets THAT as my default location. I want my home location to remain default, while still being able to see where I am.

I used to love it because I was able to stay up to date with crime or accidents happening in my tiny town. First it started reporting crime from a town about 30 minutes away with a similar sounding name, which was annoying but I get how it might get confused. But now it’s giving me sensationalized stuff from cities hours away like mom walks in on husband and adult daughter. Are you just going for clicks now? I will be looking for other apps if this continues.

This app uses AI to create event logs from scanners. However, the issue with this is consistently incorrect areas and events. For example, it’ll merch a shooting on D street, with a heart attack on J street and report it as a shooting on J street. If it can’t understand a street name, it’ll list the closest sounding name. I constantly get reports for intersections that don’t exist. Do not rely on this app, it’s trash.

App is decent at best & just now i received a ‘watch an ad for extra plays’ no thank you. You notifications alone need so much work anyways thanks anyways.

I’ve been using this app for a while to get local updates since my little town doesn’t have many options for knowing what’s going on. I thought it the app was decent (better than nothing).. but it seems like the app has gone through some major changes recently and I HATE it now. Enough that I deleted my account and deleted the app. Since the updates, the app keeps showing me alerts for all over my state and everywhere other than local. I’ve changed my settings, updated my location and my location preferences and it still keeps showing me alerts for everywhere other than what I want. And now it’s wanting to charge a subscription fee. No thanks, the app went from somewhat helpful to completely worthless.

I set up my 10 closest communities. I know dispatch puts out 10-20 calls a day total in a tourist , resort area. I get one notification every couple days. Today I got one from a city 250 miles away. Why would I upgrade the service that operates so poorly. In search of replacement

I live in a small town, and this app keeps putting incidents that happen under our town, when they are happening in some major city in another state. It keeps saying there’s shootings, major accidents and stabbings on this road here where there is literally one home, and in reality it’s an incident in Texas. We figured this out when it finally gave a cross street during one of the many incidents on this street.

Bad performance right from the start. Poor app.

Love the app BUT the timeline is so screwed up, it goes from incidents 2 days ago to 2 mins ago. I don’t see a way to see the most recent calls. Would love a filter option to have them from recent to oldest

I have had this a short time and thought it was great. Until I noticed some of these (sic) stories are ads of the worst form. They are spam, junk and false advertisements, and that reflects on the this app. It’s a shame, could have been a great app.

Would be great if you could sort chronologically. I just got an update that there was a traffic issue that was urgent. I looked at it and it was from nine hours ago. This isn’t Instagram. I need to see things in real time for this app to make any sense.

All audio and transcripts now just have (number withheld) in place of the address. This is really bad and ruins a five star app. Streets are big and trying avoid dangerous situations is now impossible. All other police apps list the information as it comes from dispatch / over the radio.

When we first started listening it was great but after a live event in our area that went tragically viral and wrong we no longer get live events

In theory, this app serves a purpose. However, it relies on AI to decipher dispatch information. Unfortunately, AI is NOT ready for real world use yet. Much of the information that is reported by the app is inaccurate, exaggerated, taken out of context, or simply wrong. This will feed information and hysteria among uninformed civilians who already don’t understand public safety or what constitutes an actual emergency.

I’m getting alerts for locations that are 200-350 miles away from me. There is no order for how the alerts display. Junk.

My followed locations disappeared and now it won’t let me add new ones. Pointless really now.

This app used to be professional and now it is full of irrelevant alerts that have nothing to do with my location, many of them “clickbait” type incidents spammed with pray emojis. Also it is unhelpful to censor out certain details of radio broadcasts. Just play back exactly what is said in the radio broadcasts.

It was great when free. Now the ads showing up so much. Asking to get Membership. It picks up from all over not just my area which is not of interest. Local was not accurate anymore either. Not worth it

I live in Missouri. Today I got alerts from Washington, DC, South Carolina, Michigan, California, Massachusetts and Minnesota. I have no interest in states alerts 1/2 way across the US. I have reset my alert area-didn't help. I have updated app-didn't help. Sent message to app company, no response. This app is currently of no use to me. Can this be fixed or should I delete the app? Hoping for an answer.

Not sure the point of a crime ap when the calls do not show up until hours later, if even the same day. I’ve already read the news by that time. Do not recommend.

I received alerts saying this or that “happened in your area” but when I click on the notification, it’s something happening more than 50 miles away! I have my location set and I’m following areas local to me however I only receive notifications for things happening several miles away and on the other side of the state!

The new update with all of the ads has totally ruined this app. Please go back to how it used to be with no ads!!

This app was a great app, till recently, now it has gaming apps that pop up, and hold your phone hostage, because they have no way for you to leave the game Preview.

This was very reliable, up until December. Updates may work, but not for long. There are too many inconsistencies with the app; and controls and algorithm not always working properly. Now there are ads every so often. I might try in another month. I might forget, tho.

I have loved this app and am so disappointed that it’s gone the way of everything else and is now pay to listen. I understand needing to monetize but having to watch ads in order to listen to scanner snippets takes so much value away from the user experience. I was ok with the new promotions shown in between call summaries. I’d have been willing even to buy the app outright to make it ad-free. But being constantly interrupted by ads makes this more hassle than it’s worth. This was my favorite app before and I recommended it to lots of people. Can’t say the same anymore.

This app was really good until it updated and now nothing plays. You can click on any feed of any station and nothing plays and I don’t know why.

Suddenly unsolicited adds are showing up every three or four entries. Time to delete

This app was great before they added ads within the last couple weeks. There’s no way to remove them, and you have to wait what feels like forever to “X” out of them. I really like that I get alerts for things near me and can see what’s happened in my neighborhood. My use has drop drastically since the ads were added.

Very simple: you can’t organize the feed in chronological order. If this is supposed to help locals, forcing them to doom scroll through incidents a day or more old just to MAYBE see something local and timely to them is ridiculous. You’re either a resource or a social hangout. Pick one. Just stop being the latter while advertising yourself as the former.

In the app I can’t see local recent activity like I can on the website. On the website I see the zip code active by date and time. On the app I see all many miles outside of the city I asked for and one can be a weeks old followed by yesterday and then three days old. It’s completely useless and I’m sticking with the website unless changes are made.

I will delete this app If I have to keep watching ads that won’t close out. K

A real scanner lets you hear the audio and doesn’t censor words. Now that you’ve started bleeping out info your app is useless. Back to my original scanner where I can actually listen to what they are saying…..

Shameful to see advertising showing up as “alerts”. Have an ad free version before ruining your app. I have deleted the app and won’t put up with add.

First of all, this app shouldn’t be posting ANY of this information. Second, who gives you the right to post where people LIVE?! Do you even understand how many lives are now jeopardized bc of this stupid app or do you not think that far ahead?

This app is okay. Its basically listens to all local scanners and gives you alerts regarding criminal activity near you so you know when to get your pieces if you know what I mean. Ive used this for a while now and down graded it to 2 starts because I constantly hear or get static in all the dispatch calls.

App was definitely cool when I first downloaded it a couple months ago. I could excuse the AI occasionally capturing the wrong names of roads, but at least we had the actual audio to listen to. Now the AI gets it wrong and the audio is also AI. This latest update also introduced ads which are really terrible. I usually don’t mind most ads but the first ad is full screen as you open the app, then they show up disguised between reports. Just can’t do it anymore. Thanks for the memories buddy, but I’m out.

It’s slower than waiting for the news to broadcast

So inaccurate it’s useless. Audio capture needs tons of work. Text is not even close 50% of time. Never a day goes by that location is not even in same area. “Pompano” is supposed to be “Pineville.” “Cowboy Lane” is not “Cowley Lane.” I’m a retired firefighter and used for 3 weeks and finally deleted.

TL;DR- All your data including activity and info are given up by using this. Total privacy surrender isn’t free. Full: The biggest crime is how otherwise reasonable people can think that anything is free. This monitors everything about users- personal information, communication, location, all you do, say, see, etc on your device. Forever. You give permission by using it. They gather and sell to anyone. You can’t undo that. Don’t believe me, just scroll down a bit on the AppStore page and it’s all right there under privacy practices. Compare to other apps and see that almost none require giving up so much. Why does it need to know everything? To make money of course. Nothing is free, only difference is how you pay. This degree of data demand is no different than an excessive monetary charge, except with money you can stop paying. Once info is given, its use can’t be controlled. Be aware.

I hate how this app has no option to organize events in chronological order.

1. Transcripts are always wrong if you listen to recordings 2. I have my town selected yet always see stuff from nearest major cities. If I cared, I’d have selected them. 3. NO ORDER. AT ALL. 1 week, 1 hour, then 15 minutes then a week then 2 hours. No rhyme. No reason.

I don’t get alerts for anything despite everything be selected and radius set to 10 miles. Something less than a mile away and no alert. Also home screen is all jumbled: first event from 2 days ago the next 16 minutes ago then 7 days ago and no way to sort for most recent.. Really wanted this app but useless to me with alerts not working and events all jumbled around not in any order.

The app is fine. It’s great but when you set it up for a certain location, you should be able to only get that location within that mile range not five counties over in that location is nowhere near what you have saved on your phone. It’s very irritating to find out the what’s going on at the location you did say and you’re having to go through five counties over just to get to the location you’re at.

Doesnt stay in the areas I selected. Plus it doesn’t keep events in order. One event is a day ago and scroll down and next could be minutes ago. Or week ago. All mixed up and grime places 60 or more miles away. Frustrating. Searching for the areas I selected. And current. Facebook is more effective in that way.

I received an unsolicited email from CrimeRadar today. “Officer reports vehicle with a gun on Mars Road!” The officer on the radio actually said “I just passed that vehicle. It was goin south on Mars Road.” How about don’t?

This app says they redact address information to protect people, but I found several instances of them just. Foregoing the process of redacting said information, and even placed an accidental overdose into ‘drug crimes’. How ghoulish to create an app that requires a lot of precise editing… Just to not care!

Sorting seems to be in some random order. It would be nice to be able to sort by chronological order. Alerts are ok, but of a pain to scroll through a large number of days old calls.

They censor every age, address, license plate number, and just about any number that is said will be censored. It’s worthless! If you want to know what’s happening and where, in your community you’re far better off finding an app that doesn’t censor what is normally public knowledge or information! I’ve reported it many times and they still do it. I could only imagine how many people would NOT buy a newspaper that censored who, what and where something happened! If you redact anything you think is important information, what use is it????

Not able to sort and filter by date is very annoying. Someone with basic programming skills can fix this. There must be some other reason why they won’t allow it.

Was a good App until about a month into downloading it. The App went crazy on the adds to the point that once an add loads, you cannot exit the add. Will be downloading something else.

Recently added ad’s and now they only let you listen to so many recordings before an ad pops up, also forces you to play an ad to get “more listens” now…. Waste of time.

I wish the calls were more real time. They show in the app 1-2 days later.

Why on earth would you make an app like this, and have no rhyme or reason on how it sorts the data? The concept of the app is great. But there is no sense in using it if I have to scroll past 40 alerts ranging from 4 days ago to 10 minutes ago, all to find one from 2 minutes ago.

Hardly any reports are actually real

Needs to report in chronological time order. Should report latest - current crime, not mix up latest for days ago. This app still needs work.

App doesn’t alert to all emergencies in the area and the ones that do are hours after the alerts happened in real time.

Literally watching a SWAT standoff on local news. No mention on app.

I like the alerts, but it’s sorted all over the place, like seeing alerts from 6 days ago first, and all others just randomly listed. Needs an update badly.

The home tab shows a mishmash of events, going back weeks, and not in order of time, even though I have it set for the last 24 hours.

Only showing medical emergencies in my area.

New update today has made it incredibly slow and glitchy.

Don’t waste your time.

This app was awesome until recent updates. Now it’s super slow, areas don’t load, and when I check on other areas, it shows the same feed from the first area I looked at. Buggy and not useful.

I start writing my review, and before I’m even halfway through with the glitches that need fixing, I get kicked out! Good grief! 🤬🤬🤬

I want to like this app, but there is no way I could find to sort by most recent and that is a big limitation in my mind. I want to know what’s happening now, not a week ago.

Stop censoring the addresses with static noise and whatnot as the victims could be a loved one!!
