Literally useless. There’s no way to advance beyond the initial set up screen on the iPhone SE. Installed on my iPad, you can select an option and click “continue,” but that doesn’t show up on the SE UI. Since I want to use it across devices, it’s a non-starter.

No way to cancel and support never replies. They just keep taking your money.

Another app locked behind a subscription model. £7.99 a month is a ridiculous amount for something most people are only going to use occasionally rather than every day. I really wish more developers would go back to offering a one-off purchase option, even alongside a subscription. Not every app needs to become another monthly bill.

This app used to work well and be relatively snappy, and suddenly it has just completely gone downhill. It's incredibly slow. It doesn't matter which combination of models you use, and I'm talking about both iOS and the desktop. Sometimes it doesn't even complete the operation of compiling my dictation, and lately, for some reason, they have decided, with no setting to override it, to censor things that you say. I'm actually an adult, and if I feel like swearing and if that's part of my day-to-day, then it should be included. Not a good look to decide on censorship. I'll be switching to Wispr Flow.

It works once then you got to swipe to open or close it. You have to turn it off every single time you want it to stop listening to you this is probably one of the worst apps i've ever encountered.

Recently purchased a lifetime license for Superwhisper. Traditional Chinese option is available on the macOS application, but Not on iOS application! Even when using the same "Ultra" model. Feel very bad, please fix it.

This used to be my absolute go-to app for what it does, but for some reason over the past month, it has been nothing more than a nuisance and a frustration. It keeps itself open, and I have to constantly fiddle with closing and reopening it. The text streaming has also become noticeably slower over the past month or so. I don't know where things went wrong, but I strongly recommend that as the product owner and developer of this application, you be very careful. Going from a top-tier experience to frustrating your users is not a great idea.

I normally don't review apps but this one was really bad. It never was able to paste the conversation into whatever writing I was doing until I reset the app. It only worked on the first try. After that if I switched modes or did anything else that the app required of me, it would just break. This was a great concept and I love their pricing model and the fact that they have a lifetime subscription but functionally this was useless. I hope this app improves because if the reliability was better I'd definitely stick around

I have been trying to use this app for about a month on every platform. And the amount of bugs keep increasing. It doesn’t work most of the time on the iPhone. And when it works, the transcriptions are so far off that during a vibe coding project it almost deleted my entire code base. When I said “familiarize yourself with the project”, it transcribed “erase yourself and the project”. I was able to control the damage, but I don’t think I’m gonna be using this app anymore. All the online reviews point to the fact that the developers. Stopped working on the app and improving it and are just collecting money.

It used to be a good app. Auto language is useless, it always translates back into English no matter what models or custom models you make. The keyboard does not work at all, it’s incredibly frustrating. I guess this is it. Bye superwhisper.

First, the keyboard has no swipe. Second, the OS interruption handling is not that great. I know Apple does not make it easy on third-party dictation keyboards, but the app regularly fails to switch back to whatever app I was using and also for some reason does not always paste the text in the box. The overall experience is just buggy and not good and I know not all of that is their fault but I would rather deal with the iPhone’s terrible dictation.

Due to iOS restrictions, the way all these dictation apps work is that you press a button on the keyboard in the app you’re writing in (e.g. iMessage), it switches over to the dictation app to start the recording, then switches immediately back. With SuperWhisper, this process is totally unreliable. In some apps it records but doesn’t paste the dictated text in. In others it switches over to SuperWhisper and gets stuck there. And even when it does work, the SuperWhisper keyboard is very buggy too - autocorrect often doesn’t work, or it randomly deletes a word you just typed or inserts a word you never typed. Since I mostly use this on mobile — the whole selling point is to be able to dictate while walking — that makes the service essentially useless to me. I was foolish enough to pay for a year’s subscription after trying it for a couple of days, and didn’t discover the bugs until a day or two later. Caveat emptor.

This app, along with many other AI voice to text apps, are the pinnacle of the Apple Tax and what is wrong with iOS. I thought that Pro was only going to only offer you access to the models with the label “Pro” next to them. Turns out I was completely wrong. When the free trial expires, it purposefully will lock you out of ANY decent model and only leaves you with the lowest performing ones. This includes offline models which I should see no reason how this can incur major operational costs. What makes this app even more of a spit in the face is that you have to pay a subscription. No thanks. I don’t need another subscription in my life for something as trivial as being able to use a model THAT IS FREELY AND OPENLY AVAILABLE VIA HUGGING FACE BTW. At least this app doesn’t have an invasive privacy policy like other apps, but still leaving a 1 star for how anti-user it is.

So much potential but the bugs are endless.

One of Superwhisper’s most significant issues is that it fails at a core dictation function. Even when the model is set to multilingual or automatic, and auto-translation is turned off, the app still translates everything into English. That makes it frustrating and unreliable for multilingual use. This problem has persisted for more than a year, and there still appears to be no fix in sight.

The keyboard doesn't work. Example the ios messaging app, when you record a voice note it transcribes it in the super whisper app but it doesn't add it to the message. So you have to manually go copy the transcription then paste into the message. It should just add it automaitcally

Well, the concept is good, but the execution is terrible. You’ll find that it doesn’t stay in the app that you’re trying to use the voice recording with go back to its own app and then you’ll have to swipe back in order to get to the app that you want to use the product in but even worse it’s a complete battery stuck. I used it three times over the course of a day and my battery was down to less than 50% use with battery app reporting over 25% usage just with the product so until they get it fixed nice concept guys, but it’s got some real problems and by the way, my phone was heating up, but I could feel the back getting really hot using the product so thanks super whisperer but you’re not ready for primetime

Not sure what’s happened but the keyboard has failed completely. The input is recorded in the Superwhisper app, but it doesn’t automatically input it into the app in which I’ve triggered the keyboard, so I have to copy from the Superwhisper app and paste it into the app I’m working on. This defeats the purpose of using a dictation app.

It sucks the app stays gathering the dictation longer than usual some time is stressful making it essentially useless

I’ve heard various people on podcasts rave about this app, but have been totally unable to replicate any of the useful results they describe. Makes me think they are just paid shills. I dictate into this app and it comes back with some bland useless text that has lost about 40% of the important content that I originally spoke. It’s a tool for sending your meaning into a black hole.

The latest is extremely poor even with parakeet model. I am currently using Wispr flow which is way faster. No affiliation with either product. I would come back to this if it’s fast and actually usuable within any app - at it’s present form it’s not

This was great, but now is buggy and causes you to lose things. It’s especially annoying with long input - you lose whole conversations!

I’m dictating this now using the built-in Apple dictation, which says a lot. Overall, I love the idea behind Superwhisper. Being able to have a local voice model do the work and then being able to optionally send that out for additional processing is lovely. But the issue is the implementation. The app is a little buggy, such that when you start recording it flips out of the app you’re in and over to Superwhisper, and then back to the app you are trying to add text to. This is not generally a problem, except when the Superwhisper app stops recording in the background. You soon realize that you i’ve been speaking for two minutes without realizing that Superwhisper has not actually been listening to anything you said (despite the record icon showing up). Additionally, the keyboard extension is buggy and loses some key features over the standard iOS keyboard. Ultimately, I’d love to give this app five stars, but it needs a bit polished before it gets there.

I bought the lifetime subscription and up to a few months ago, I was really pleased with this app. Now the app shows a "no voice recording found" error and just like that whatever you were dictating - whether it be a meeting, conversation or just your thoughts are gone. I've contacted support multiple times and they are slow to respond (if at all) and has still not solved the problem.

Previously Parakeet models were free because they run on device, but they were so good they were competing with the cloud models, so now those are also paid

Darling are you okay? It’s 2026. It costs $100 for access to make iOS apps. You’re charging for what exactly? Considering your price for a lifetime subscription, couldn’t a person just task Claude Code to create a wrapper for these open source models? How much would that cost if the person spent time planning and getting everything setup to enable Claude to execute it? Like Pro, Pro Max, or just API? If you think it would cost more than that lifetime subscription, how long do you expect that to last?

I have yet to use another transcription app that is as unreliable as SuperWhisper Somewhere around seventy-five percent of the time when I try to transcribe something, Superwhisper interprets it as a prompt, like I am speaking with Claude or ChatGPT. For example, if I say “write alt text for the following image using two thousand characters or less“, Instead of transcribing those words, I get a response that says something about how I have not provided an image, but if I do provide an image, it would be happy to provide the alt text. What the heck is SuperWhisper doing? This app has one job, transcribe what I say, and it fails miserably most of the time. It's astonishing how difficult it is to get this app to work correctly.

Why is Nvidia parakeet, which is a local model, behind a paywall now? It makes no sense why that would be included in the paywall?

This used to be my favorite app, but now they got rid of history and put a pay wall. RIP

I honestly had loved using this app in the past and have even used it on windows with the beta and it worked great. But with the newest update you have taken away some of the best features of this app that made it stand out from others. For example you now cannot use any local models above Standard which makes no sense if its supposed to be completely local as these would run on your phones why would u keep that behind a paywall. Also before we were able to use multiple different modes without having to pay which also doesn’t make sense to paywall as it costs you nothing. I think you should instead only put the online dictation models, online language models, and maybe the ability to have more than 3-5 modes in the subscription and leave the rest free so this can still be the best possible free app. Will most definitely be using a different app till I see some positive changes.

$250 is a joke for this piece of trash. Unreliable, inconsistent, and chugs your cell data even though it is all local. losers designed this!

Been trying this app and there must be some bugs that need fixing. Keeps telling me “no voice found” but I can send myself the recording and hear it outside the app. Is nice if it works. Might suggest trying another platform.

If you are charging for the app you need to ensure that it works. I recorded a very important lecture and the. When I returned to look at the notes it said that no voice was found! Does this app work ?

It would be amazing if it worked, but you cannot use it two days in a row and expected to do anything. Permanently getting infinite loads and crashes.

I find the keyboard implementation to be rather buggy. It switches back and forth rapidly and then doesn’t insert text or process correctly far too often.

This program has great potential. At some point it worked decently. Unfortunately now it’s very unreliable to where you can’t trust it in real life. Repeatedly I am encountering “no voice recording found” after it seemingly recorded for 20 minutes. Your meeting notes just like that are gone! After the latest update the prompts have disappeared from settings and the edit prompt button does not work. The website is very poorly maintained. No true acknowledgment of these bugs nor reassurance of a near fix. I’m a believer in the concept and happily supported the app but this sloppy work is jeopardizing my work and thus I can’t rely on this app.

I was hoping for superwhisper to create a clean transcript of the language I speak, which can be English of French. It understands quite perfectly when I speak french but transcript everything to english. Another problem is that I have set my default keyboard to canadian french but the superwhisper keyboard shows me the french azerty layout which I don't want. Overall very disappointed

1 out of 5 voice requests fails to insert into the text box. I’m on the latest iOS. Also no chat support in the app so can’t get help from anyone.

This is terrible. I’ve purchase pro 3 times- it only works with Mac- it is now not working at all.

Program didn’t work at all for me. It showed it was recording, but when I stopped it, it said nothing was on the recording. I tried several times. Check the settings, but they were useless. Now I’m trying to figure out how to get my $8.49 refund. Glad I didn’t pay for a year. I’ll go with a competitor’s product.

Was working for about 3 days, I’ve Paid for the monthly service and nothing happens when I record my voice. After recording it says “ no voice found in recording” Very frustrating. And no help sources within the app. Had to reach out on X, but who knows if I’ll hear back.

The capabilities of this product are truly remarkable. I gather it uses large language models, so all kinds of proper names are identified and correctly spelled. But it’s very dictatorial (pardon the pun). It insists on supplying all of its own punctuation. And there’s no way to disable this (at least, no easy way, as far as I can see). So you can’t even tell it when to start a new paragraph, let alone to insert commas, semicolons, quotation marks, etc. If the developers simply made this an option, so that it was more similar to Dragon or iPhone dictation, it would be, probably, the best voice recognition system around. But, alas, they haven’t done that. So I won’t be using it.

App has many glitches and nobody from support reached out to help me. Don’t waste your money.

I really like this, but it doesn't work sometimes. When I try to tap on keyboard mic and try to dictate it doesn't work 90% of the time. Wispr flow has similar and that works but i like the functionality of this app i hope fix it. Also i hope they fix where i can click and edit the transcript

I have the license key securely stored in a password manager. Why can’t I enter this into the iOS app? Why must I scan a QR code from my MacBook? What happens if my MacBook is lost, stolen or rendered inoperable? Please allow license key entry from the iOS app.

For an app that had whisper in its name, when I do whisper (directly at the mic) it rarely picks up. Very misleading.

The functionality is terrible for recording interviews. Equally terrible for recording voice memos/notes to self. I use it on my MacBook and its great, but on my phone it shows it’s recording but just stops…but looks like its still going… but it isn’t… so I missed some stuff. I have tried it a few times and same results. Not sure why the simple function of recording until I hit stop doesn’t work, I hope y’all fix this.

Update: more bugs. Still no acknowledgment or any response from the developer. Not recommended. This is my go-to dictation app on my iPhone. I use it for everything. Unfortunately, it has a few bugs, and despite emailing the developer multiple times and posting on forums, I haven't received a single response. As a result, I can't recommend it.

Love the concept and have been using it extensively on mac and iOS. But the iOS app still has lots of bugs - recordings being dropped, not processed, or processing stopping when the device is locked. Not worth the subscription given how buggy it still is.

It’s been some time since my first review and I’m now on new devices, but the problems described in the old review remain. It’s a bit sad that crucial functionality like synchronization of audio across devices and some sort of stability when recording and transcribing large audio just isn’t there. The interface is slick and there are a lot of models supported, but those are not useful if I cannot trust the app to transcribe and then have to do multiple taps to move my recordings around. Users shouldn’t have to scan through discord discussions to find solutions to those issues. —— I like the app - the interface is minimal, and I can easily start recording and choose how to process my text and create formats and have access to multiple language models. I think all that is great. The issue I have is that sometimes, when I record a long message - let's say over 20 minutes - on the iOS app, clicking "Process" doesn't work. Instead, the processing crashes silently and fails to produce a transcript. Furthermore, it creates a new entry in the recordings catalog indicating "no voice found in recording" with an empty recording. It's unusual because if I keep retrying, I'll soon have multiple empty entries. It’s not easy to delete these entries currently, I have to tap to open a specific entry, then tap deletion. It would be nice if I could delete from the list of recordings itself. Then, I couldn't find an option to synchronize my data between my MacBook and iPhone. Το move a recording from one device to the other, I have to figure out how to extract recordings manually. It would be beneficial to have an option to sync data between devices.

This product does not work for iPhone. It works well on Mac but when you try to load your license key on the iPhone app it doesn't work. This makes the app pretty much unusable.

Doesn’t have robust UI or features. Doesn’t stand out. Also let me record a whole recording and then printed me after the fact that I had to upgrade my account. It should have told me that before. I would have done it. So frustrating.

Terrible experience. Saying no voice found every time. It’s embarrassing to release an app with such quality.

I subscribed and downloaded the ultra model. I can’t get it consistently make notes. It records the audio , then says “No voice found in recording”, and I can’t even play the recording back. When I try to Process again, the app crashes. Sometimes it will work but I’ve only gotten it to work a few times. Terrible experience. I haven’t tried any other models than Ultra but I have a 16 Pro - it should work fine. When it does work, it’s pretty good but unfortunately that hasn’t been very often.

This product is a total scam. All it does is uses API’s and tried to charge me $250 “one time fee.” Outrageous price gouging and subpar experience

On 80% of my notes, it fails to recognize a voice despite speaking clearly into the microphone. Desktop (MacOS) app is fine but this is a waste.

The app frequently crashes while processing audio recordings. Upon reopening, it displays “No voice found in recording” in Recordings. Initially I thought it happened when the app was backgrounded, but it seems to happen sometimes when the app remains in the foreground for the entire recording.

Hands down, the best application I've ever downloaded. This app gives flawless dictation even in a medical context. It can be used directly within EHR software because it functions as a program/keyboard. If you want it to be HIPAA compliant, you just need to create an enterprise account. That was a simple, seamless process, and the customer support has been top-notch. I’d give this app 1,000,000 stars if I could because it has made my life as a physician so much better.

I'm not sure when this release was pushed… but the ability to have a keyboard at the iOS level is amazing. This is actually going to change how I use my iPhone and iPad. Thank you Neil and team. I've been a huge supporter of you guys since the beginning…. I dictated this review with Superwhisper.

And this one is the best by far custom models custom prompts fast easy to use cool shortcuts to solve the keyboard permission issues

I used Whisper before this and switched over to SuperWhisper for the local voice models. And using it both on my Mac and iPhone. And it is significantly improved in latest update and by far the fastest most reliable and private transcription app that I've used.

There is not a better dictation app. I’ve tried the others like WhisprFlow and this definitely has it beat. Worth the money for dev pro and overall productivity boost.

Desperately needs to use iCloud for a sinking dictionary, etc.

In my opinion best app out there for speech to text, not sure if it’s possible but if had a memory feature and could somehow access the internet it would be so powerful there would be nothing out there to compete with it.

Unbelievably amazing productivity tool. I am just totally floored. I got a lifetime subscription both for myself and my wife and we use it on our Macs and on our iPhones. It is seriously such a great app and so easy to use and relative to other similar apps its features and UI and everything are just spot-on. LOVE SuperWhisper.

I truly have high hopes for this app, but the iOS app is simply too unreliable at the moment. The app and keyboard commonly fail to capture the dictation, and processing speeds struggle as well. Looking forward to continual improvements.

This by far is way better than speech-to-text built into the iPhone. But my only issue is that every time I try and hit the button to talk and have it convert to text it's constantly switching the screen to the app and then saying I have to download this shortcut to prevent that from happening, but the shortcut doesn't work.

Incredible, esp the shortcut (April 2026!) - just watch for bugs springing in new versions. WORTH IT

I am honestly very disappointed in this app. I was using a competitor for a few months, but this app's pricing is better. I made the switch over last week and I regret it. It often crashes when you're trying to dictate when it switches from the keyboard to the other app. This is incredibly frustrating. The app seems a little bit slower than the other app in the market.
