Couldn’t even make it passed the data download screen. Got to the end after 30 minutes worth of download over a 200mbps bandwidth speed and it crashed every time.

I love this game from back when, was very happy to see a remake but the controller doesn’t sink to the game making it unplayable unless you use the screen and that’s absolutely horrible. I guess I’ll wait for them to fix the controller issues.

I bought this over a month ago for my iPad Pro M5. Everything was working and running great and then I closed out of it for the night. When I went to log back into the game it wouldn’t run past the introduction and then there was nothing. The game simply quit working. It clearly states in the AppStore that this game is fully supported and compatible with the iOS on this device. I’m very dissatisfied with this.

The free trial worked fine and I was at first impressed that I could play this on my phone so I said what ever and purchased the full game and ever since the initial download of the full game it won’t let me play it just goes to a black screen or makes me restor my purchase and that dosent work either, FIX IT !

It’s been well over a month and it’s still not working, I’m just welcomed with a black screen. DONT BUY THIS!

Suddenly the game is not starting up. I’ve reset my phone, deleting and losing my data to redownload. Still no start up.

The game just doesn’t work atm… a shame considering I’ve bought so much and played it so much, just to come back one day to see the game is completely defective and unresponsive

The game needs a price reduction asap… $60 is absolutely absurd for a game that’s been out for some time.

5 stars when Capcom actually fixes it. $60+ with DLC on an iPhone 17 Pro Max and it freezes nonstop and reboots don’t help. iOS 26.4 bricked the game with zero fix. Fix it.

The game is not working, the screen turns black

I just bought the game, but it won't let me proceed; the screen goes black, and I can't play it. Fix this, or give me my money back.

I love this game, did one play through, payed $60 for the game. Go to play one day and I cannot get past the title screen, the game will not load it freezes at a black screen. Deleted everything and probably lost all my data thinking that might help, it did not. Deleted and redownloaded for nothing. The game was legit and awesome while it was working but now I can’t even open it.

It’s wild that Resident Evil 4 was specifically featured during Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro keynote in September 2023 as a centerpiece of the company’s push into “AAA mobile gaming.” Now, just a few years later, the game is bricked due to a lack of updates. What was an impressive showcase has turned into abandonware.

Capcom, you guys have done nothing for months while this game was completely broken. In that time, you could have easily updated the game to fix the black screen bug and added MetalFX support so the game could actually run at 60fps with better graphics options and better touch screen options. I’m never buying another one of your games on the App Store again. I’ll stick to buying them on PC and my PS5 Pro where they actually work. It's clear you don't care about your mobile players

Best game ever, and it looks and runs amazing on iOS! But if you accidentally delete the “Resident Evil 2” folder from your iCloud Drive, you’ll never be able to play the game again. Reinstalling doesn’t work—there’s no fix—and that’s a major oversight for CAPCOM. Not good. Paid $40. Accidentally deleted a folder. $40 down the drain.

Black screen after boot

Last night, after my iPad automatically updated itself to iOS 26.4.2, the game has been getting stuck at the RE Engine Logo. For $59.99 plus on top of the extra money I paid for DLC and charms, this is ridiculous. This whole situation really makes me not want to pay another cent towards an iOS version of a CAPCOM IP (which btw, the market was already having a difficult time attracting people to play this on iOS.)

Game has been un playable for over a month.

The game simply doesn’t work; I’ve bought the full game, but the game doesn’t see my purchase and just freezes every time I try to restore it. Fix it please!!!

Scam, why does the Apple Store sell a game that not works in the last iOS update. This is not fair with the customers, even the game in any place doesn't said that if you have the last iOS version the game will not works.

The game is great and I have bought resident evil on multiple platforms like xbox, playstation and steam please fix all the titles in the series because they became broken after the update and hopfully we will be able to buy Resident Evil Requiem from the app store in the future but please fix the game this is a review from a long time capcom fan have a good day.

Recently took a trip and was going to play this on the plane, but it told me I needed a huge download (even though I’d been playing the game just fine, about halfway through—long past the initial “free trial” section). After returning home and completing the download, the game launches, shows the initial RE Engine splash screen, then goes dark and the game screen never comes up. The display is non-responsive, I.e., tapping the screen doesn’t bring up the on-screen controls. I tried deleting the whole game and reinstalling/re-downloading, but I get the same behavior. Incredibly disappointing!

Capcom please fix ur game after the IOS update not a single re game works only for a black screen to show the game will show up if you turn your WiFi off but playing it is impossible because it says you need to buy the full game when I’ve already bought please do something about this.

I love the resident evil games and bought it for my phone but it is stuck on a black screen when i load it up and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it doesn’t work a little bummed out if this is all that’s happening i’ll want a refund if i can’t play it hopefully you guys can figure it out?

This game is currently bricked until Capcom updates the app to work with iOS and iPadOS 26.4. Using iPad Pro M4 and the game boots to a black screen and never recovers. Will update review when addressed.

I’m using iPad Pro M5 13 inch. I just can’t open the game at all. I have downloaded everything, but every time my game is just whole black. Please fix the problem.

The game only loads if you're offline. However, it doesn't recognize that I purchase the game. Even when switching back on my internet. If Capcom should just go ahead and refund me.

In this review, I want to write about how Capcom ignores its fans and players. The game is wonderful and helps a lot to players who are often away and can't play through a PC. But the way the company ignores the players sucks. In the recent update 26.4 there was a bug, the company confirmed it, but no news when the problem will be solved is said and roughly speaking we were scored and simply postponed this problem to the background. I want to say to these reviews that if you are ready to endure while the developers start working on their game for more than a month and not give any news and chances for the best, then of course buy. Draw your own conclusions. (Those who read, I apologise for the spelling, because I write through a translator, I'm Russian myself)

App no longer functions on iOS 26.4. Always loads to a black screen

As of April 22, 2026 the game is completely unplayable. Capom won’t fix it yet they’re still allowing people to waste their money trying to download the game smh

Capcom acknowledged this problem at the end of March, but hasn’t fixed it as of April 20. When will they fix it? Their support is lacking.

Used to be absolutely perfect but it’s now completely unplayable on iPhone for to an iOS update. Capcom have acknowledged the issue but have yet to do anything about it. Still runs perfectly on Mac but do not buy for iPhone until an update is issued

Unfortunately, after the recent Apple update (iOS25.6, i believe), the game has become completely unplayable. When connected to the internet, it won’t load at all. If you try to play in airplane mode, it only loads the free portion and prompts you to purchase the game again. Keep in mind, i have already purchase multiple titles in the series (2,3,4,7 & Village, with all Dlc) and none of them are working. Even worse if you attempt to repurchase the game, the same issue happens again after closing and reopening it. There has no been response nor acknowledgement from either CAPCOM or Apple regarding this issue. This level of support is extremely disappointing from both parties.

The game won't load since ios 26.4. They should have updated tested the game during the beta process of that version of ios so they would be ready with an update, but they didn't.

All of my resident evil games that I purchased re2,3, and 4 remake, have stopped working after an iPhone update. Capcom fix this

I have an M5 iPad Pro and an iPad Air M3 on current iPadOS 26.4.1. Resident Evil 4 Remake opens to a black screen after the initial logos. I’ve tried all the usual app fixes (uninstall/reinstall, clearing app data, etc.). I’ve attempted to reach out to Capcom support, but their sites are a confusing mess than link me in circles and prevent me from reaching a solution. As of now, this title is completely unplayable. Note: I will update this later on if it is resolved.

Leon's hair looks awful. Considering it's on screen the entire game, it should be updated. And apparently the game isn't booting for some? You charge the same amount as the console version yet there's barely ever any updates and we get treated horribly. Is this what you think of your fanbase Capcom?

Capcom refuses to update the game to boot. I purchased all the games. What a waste of money….

Hopefully I can get a refund. I have a brand new 17 pro max and this game ran great for a few hours and is now unplayable due to crashes every 5 minutes. It’s the only open app and shouldn’t freeze this often. Be ready for frozen screens.

Doesn’t work, black screen on iPhone 16 pro, ios 26.4, nothing doesn’t help. I reinstalled game 3 times.

This game has been crashing or black screening upon start up since the iOS 26.4 update. Capcom acknowledged this issue on march 27th, 2026 on their x account. There has been no update or any communication since. I’m giving a 1 star not because the gameplay, but because the lack of support after spending $65 is appalling. If you plan to purchase this game please do not it is a waste of money. The demo will work and you will go to purchase it and have zero access to the game. This happened to me and I’m trying to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Please Capcom do your jobs and update your game.

Literally spent ages downloading this and when I finally get the game running and about 10 minutes in it prompts me to crouch under a tree. It never let me no matter what I tried so, don’t download this on mobile just buy the actual game on console to save your damn time. Actually ridiculous dude.

After 26.4 game will not load or launch for anyone. Game is entirely unplayable/incompatible until fixed. Has been an issue since beta 1 and still remains with official release of 26.4

iPhone 17 Pro on iOS 26.4. I have more than enough space, but doesn’t run after developer title screens in beginning. Can’t even get to main title screen.

love the devs and depend on them. ipados is the only device i have to game on at this stage of my life. the importance of that is very significant to me. if it werent for capcom's efforts in making these games available to modern mobile devices i would never be able to relive the themes i got to experience back in the 90's with the first entries on PSX. im not trying to bash on the devs, i want to encourage them... hopefully with the response you get from this ipados 26.4 crash it will show you how much support these games have on mobile. i hope everyone that doesnt have room for video game consoles find joy playing video games anyways with the ones that are available on mobile. and i hope that capcom continues their efforts in pushing the bounderies of mobile gaming. i look forward to resident evil requiem on IOS. thank you CAPCOM.
