Had plaud for some time and even after updated plaud only works when plugged into a usb not connected to anything. Will connect and work. As soon as unplugged it disconnects. Extremely frustrating Had to find other options

This app appears to require that a separate (expensive!) hardware device be purchased and then used with your iOS/iPad device. That this is the case is not particularly obvious (no doubt intended). That said, it does look like perhaps audio transcripts recorded on an iPhone for example, can be imported into and then processed by the Plaud AI engine. Unfortunately (also not apparent until they’ve got you “hooked”, you can’t test how well that functionality works…..until after you’ve signed up. I for one am tired of this kind of snot-nosed tech-bro behavior. Just be fargin’ honest kids. Jesus! - a recently retired aerospace/engineering tech fellow.

Bought the pro device and started the trial today. Generation never finished (tried auto and non-auto), takes forever and results with a generic error message without any details what to do next. $20 a month is also a joke as Otter or Notability provide the same for the half of the price. The device has the display, but it is useless and just one button is confusing and not ergonomic (e.g. I want to separate meetings and using long press and other press is supper annoying and led to missing recordings). Transcription is also not the best, unfortunately. I run it in parallel with Notability and it transcribed better (less errors)

I spent too much money thinking this would be the perfect solution and by my 6th recording even though I have a full transcript. Plaud can’t generate a summary. I’ve tried on app and online. I had to copy it and have it done by granola.

Plaud AI tells me that it cannot turn things into docs, thinks a “printable format” for a list is a wall of plain text, and will not integrate with anything, it also said it could not save our text thread to one of the folders in the app or save it as a note, it said it did not know contact info for Plaud customer service or how to get a refund. It told me that it is a Google AI even though it will not integrate with any google products like I need. It told me to contact my “service provider” regarding refund requests, very confusing. It seemed to not know who/what Plaud is when it is labeled as Plaud AI. On transcription summary notes where I did a “brain dump” talking to myself to make a to do list while driving it seemed to think “Plaud” was another person I was speaking to and seemed concerned that this Plaud person didn’t know I was recording. I could have just gotten a cheap little voice recorder and input recordings into ChatGPT. That would be about 10% of the cost I paid Plaud and provide a better product. ChatGPT creates printable documents and ics calendar files for me for free. Plaud used false and misleading advertising that their system integrates with many things. It doesn’t. It is a voice recorder with transcription. That tech has been around for a long time. Audio transcription tech can be found for free. The AI summaries can be done for free with several different language learning AI. Gemini isn’t even the best one imo and that is what Plaud AI seems to be. Just buy a voice recorder, save 90%, and get better quality results.

Seriously? You have to buy their device to record? I downloaded the Plaud app but there is no option to record using your iPhone mic. Deleting

I run an online business and was looking forward to this replacing my note taking; however, it’s not compatible with AirPods.

They stopped the ability to copy full transcripts. This is really annoying considering the membership price. There are so many of these devices out there now. Go with something else!

They offer a 3-day free trial, but I was charged right away $240 and when I contacted Plaud AI team they recognized I signed up for a free trail but they told me they couldn’t process a refund. Money flushed down the toilet because this app is not useful for me.

$29/month is ridiculous

Worked fine for 3 weeks and then went from 60% charged to 0% in minutes. Unable to recharge. Worthless now.

This new software is horrendous for me. I just need simple transcription yet it's continuously trying to bring AI in! No clue how to fix it because I don't understand why it changed.

Great device, use it often for work and personal use, but now they have ads on the app and that’s a huge negative. Idk if I’d recommend it to anyone because of that.

Plot is great other than when you leave your recording device at home on accident and you’re in a meeting that you need recorded and now I have to use another app because the plot developers are greedy and only want you to be able to record things if you buy their $200 device. Guys… This is not hard, just create a feature in your app where you can record with your phone and utilize all of the same features that make plaud. Until this is added, I will continue my search to replace what was such a great idea.

In theory it is a great idea but after a day at a conference you are left with a ton of recordings, many of which are useless and then when you try to search the entire day’s recordings you have to first transcribe each one and then try to search and it just doesn’t have very strong search functionality. Keep in mind, This is a Chinese company that is tries to tell the story of a US registered company (which anyone can do) with Singapore roots which every Chinese company says they are. But they are founded and invested by Chinese and the interface is how’s as a slightly off and unintuitive layout.

This thing just does not work. Keeps recording on its own even though I updated and reset it. Its app is not great. Just not ready for prime time imo

I just opened the app and was served an ad on a timer that I couldn’t dismiss until the time ran out. I subscribe to Plaud’s unlimited plan and I just received the Note Pro - why am I being served in-app ads? This device is supposed to help speed up workflows, the last thing I want is to be slowed down by an ad when I’m trying to get things done. If this is how Plaud plans to treat its customers, I’m returning the Pro, canceling my subscription, and moving to a competitor more principled.

I do not appreciate the changes - without notice - to the basic method of using the app.

Just bought the Pro version. I seriously think it might be defective because it sounds terrible. Tried contacting support and official social media account, without any luck.

I have tried the numbers on the invoice and the email and haven’t received A response. Not sure what kind of service this is but certainly wouldn’t work with a company like this.

This device and app is so frustrating. I have had problems non stop since purchasing the device. My recordings come back fuzzy or not at all. The device dies really quickly and I only seem to be able to use the device when it’s turned on and the app is open on my phone at the same time. This defeats the purpose, I may as well use a recording device on my phone. I have spent time troubleshooting with support and they had me reset the device, but I am still having tons of problems with it. I’m not happy at all, especially with the cost of the device and it’s annual software price.

I love the device and app; here comes the but. I purchased mine from Amazon and a recent update corrupted my Plaud. Now it will not connect to my app. I heave exchanged numerous emails with CS with no resolution. Do NOT purchase from a third party company if you want any support!

Its great except - THE Support from Plaud is worthless. DONT DO THE FIRMWARE UPDATE. It will render your Plaud device worthless and you wont be able to connect. In the app there is an option to update the firmware - DONT DO IT. Plaud doesn't know how to fix it. I have the highest subscription, they haven't resolved the issue i have bene emailing back and forth for over 5 days. With there was a competitor that had better service.

Giving it a 2, only because if the device was usable it would be a great tool. The main issues I’ve run into is the device disconnecting from my phone and a consistent beep. I purchased the notepin to help with efficiency. Since starting to use it, I’ve spent more time troubleshooting and messaging plaud “support” to get it to work correctly than I have using the outputs from the device. Sporadic connection means the summaries aren’t ready when you’re ready for them. Meaning you have to come back to them later or go off your original notes anyway. Couple that with the fact that it has a loud 10sec beep that runs every 10min when it’s in use (because of an issue with the “find my” feature?) I’ve stopped wearing it in meetings or client sessions for the distraction and interruption. I’ve received a smattering of “fixes”, none of which have fixed it. Recently requested turning the beep function off entirely for my device, we will see if that is possible or resolves the issue.

I tried to do some summary. But it gave me in different language. When I tried to regenerate and changed the language the button didn’t work. Now I’m just simply trying to cancel subscription because I got one week free and after 1 week automatically will charge annually subscription. So I tried to contact through button help it didn’t work. After they said they will contact me with an agent. No one responded. I’m still trying to unsubscribe. Wish me luck.

It’s like a forced windows vista or a “clean glass” design. Took away all the key elements of the previous design which was catered towards function. Had color and other elements that made using the app better

The overview of files shows no info on folders. Impossible to structure the files. You end up with one big pile of spaghetti that is impossible and super time consuming to navigate. Pick a different product than this one.

This was a great app. Version 3's "Brand New Experience" is a terrible one. Roll it back to version 2 please.

I’m having problems with my usage. I have 300 hours to use free of charge and it seems that you guys just don’t allow that to come to fruition! Too sad! It almost feels like bad faith!

I have been trying to contact someone for 8 days at the ONLY email address they give you to no avail. My paper is due today, and in spite of paying the 99.99 membership, I am not able to transcribe my dictation. No live person behind the “live” chat, no phone number to contact. Worse waste of my time and money. Do not acquire if you have your school grade or job dependent on it.

Predatory!! I signed up for the free trial directly through the app instead of the Apple Store. Bad mistake. Now that I decided I don’t want it, it’s impossible to cancel! I searched the help and directions given do NOT work. I tried to connect to someone via the app and it wouldn’t connect me to anyone. I’m returning the product and never working with this company again!! UPDATE: Finally got in contact with someone to “cancel” my subscription after I already cancelled my card just in case. They had to give me a “special” link so I can log in to cancel. I even got confirmation from support it was cancelled. Guess what? I see repeated attempts to charge my card DAYS after it was allegedly cancelled. So glad I followed my instincts to cancel my card. A company that makes it this challenging to cancel is not a reputable company at all.

This recording device is a letdown. I unbound it from my account as required, but other phones still can’t connect—keeps saying "device bound to another account". I’ve contacted customer service for days, but they just go in circles, repeating useless steps like "re-unbind" or "log out and in" instead of fixing it. Total waste of time. Don’t buy it!

Finding instructions on how to use is nearly impossible. Everything your click on tries to sell you something new!

Previously, it only alerted users with just single popup reminder to connect Bluetooth connectivity with devices and that was fine since when I cancel then it never showed up again. But now, it relentlessly and consistently reappears and drives me insane. Get this crazy insanity popup to stop please.

From the little I’ve used the app so far, it seems potentially useful (which is why I’m giving it 2 stars, rather than 1). I was actually looking forward to seeing how I could integrate it into my daily workflow. However, when I looked into disabling the auto-renewal on my account, which they force you to sign up for in order to use their device, I couldn’t find it. You can’t cancel it in the Subscriptions section of your iOS account like they claim. You can’t do it in the app. You can’t do it on their website. You can’t do it using the link to update your payment method in the email they send confirming your sign-up. Can’t do it anywhere. I’m going to call the number in the confirmation email tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes. Regardless, any company that makes it that hard to cancel a compulsory $240 auto-renewal is shady, and it makes me automatically distrustful and want to cancel their service ASAP. Returning my Note this weekend. UPDATE: phone number provided in email is bogus: “Your call cannot be completed as dialed.”

All I can tell you is watch your credit card bills if you subscribe to this. I wanted a seven day free trial, but did not want to continue. There is no way to cancel. I’ve tried and tried and got the plod support and they are useless. They want my $90 that bad. Now I will have to go dispute the charges. What a scam this is.

First of all, it is almost impossible to figure this device out and how to use it. In fact, I never could figure it out. Also, after purchasing the device, I was very disappointed to learn ahead to sign up for a service. Frankly, I can get an app on my iPhone and do the same exact thing. I wish I could return this piece of garbage.

I logged in to the app on my phone but no way on the app. Does it tell you which email did I use so I end up trying five different emails and still couldn’t figure out which email I used on my computer. This is just very bad UX design.

I stopped using it after I accidentally recorded for 5 hours and it burned my transcription minutes. The date/time format isn’t changeable for US users, etc. More of a kickstarter project than prime time. Looking at other tools that just use my phone or Apple Watch. Subscription cancelled.

I enrolled in PLAUD’s service using a credit card via Stripe. Despite repeated cancellation requests, conflicting instructions, and PLAUD’s written confirmation that my trial was cancelled, I was still charged renewal fees. No receipts or confirmations were ever provided at sign-up or billing. Attempts to cancel through the links and methods PLAUD provided were misleading and ineffective, directing me to non-functional portals or to Apple—even though I never subscribed through Apple. PLAUD has alternated between disclaiming records of my account and continuing to charge my credit card. While the device itself performs well, the billing practices and customer service have been misleading, inconsistent, and unreliable, causing unauthorized charges and unnecessary dispute escalation.

**UPDATE** it’s been 2 weeks me emailing that takes 3 days to get an answer from someone who has no idea what they are talking about SWITCHING THE EMAIL ON MY ACCOUNT.** After trying to communicate with someone to fix a very simple problem, I found out that ChatGPT is gonna be doing the exact same thing, you should just use the app for it

Notepin failed and can’t get a hold of anyone quickly to get it replaced. 48 hours to get back to you and it’s been over 24 hours.

#1: For some odd reason, which I haven’t figured out, I cannot import some files of what seems to be the same type as others with which I have no issue. Some MP3’s import just fine; some others simply don’t appear once I’ve hit ‘Send’ (all on the iOS app). I have no clue why. Tried renaming files, restarting the app, restarting my phone… no way to fix it. Must be a bug in the system. #2: My NotePin’s WiFi is never stable enough to have my phone connected. I own a NOTE and a second NOTE PIN, and those work just fine. Potentially a hardware issue, but it wasn’t a problem a week ago… I love PLAUD, but for me to change my current rating, PLEASE FIX THISSS!

Why does it not automatically transcribe recordings immediately, what is the hardware for? Why does keyboard pop up when crossing off checklist items.

Summaries inaccurate. Transcription takes longer than the instant transcription already available on my iPhone. Limited usefulness

If any of the product contents arrive damaged, don’t expect the company to back the product. They will hide behind the shield of the retailer who sold you the product. They would rather you fight with them than to send you a replacement component. Don’t waste your money on their premium service. Just export to a memo in Apple instead. Avoid this company and its products. There are better options. They are on borrowed time.

I paid $240 for the yearly unlimited a month ago and the app still has me at the starter plan. Apple and PLAUD developers have not been able to resolve the issue and have denied the refund. Be careful if you subscribe because the subscription (AI subscriptions in Apple Store) is being treated as buying a movie from Apple Store, once sold no refund will be provided, even though the services have not been rendered.

Terrible device, terrible app, terrible support. Recorded non stop on its own.

Write a lot of notes, but it’s all way off

The hardware is nice, the AI works great. I’ve had to contact support twice for two different issues with the hardware, and this is probably the worst support I’ve ever dealt with. I own both the Note and the Note Pin, and purchased the year of unlimited service. I’ve already canceled the renewal. Save your money and find a better company to do business with.

I bought the recorder but there was never any mention about a subscription. In the directions it’s very cryptic and doesn’t explain how to turn off the subscription. How do you turn it off? I’m going to report fraud

I purchased the Plaud device to record ideas and thoughts on the fly for creative writing. Set up was easy and recording was easy however, once downloading to my phone, there’s no option to transcribe the recording to text. There’s an option to summarize or allow AI to write for me. HUH? Is this really the future where no one has original thought or Records original thoughts. So we’re all going to be using the same words and terminology produced by AI ? Say it isn’t so.

I was excited about the Plaud AI Pin — the hardware is sleek and feels futuristic. But after a few months on the unlimited plan, I’m using it less and less. Without solid software, it’s basically a small Bluetooth recorder. Everything you capture is fragmented across summaries and transcripts, with no good way to retrieve, search, or connect ideas. I’m beginning to feel overwhelmed by the growing pile of unorganized transcripts and summaries. They’re just buried in the app, and honestly, starting to feel worthless. What’s the point of capturing everything if I can’t effectively retrieve any of it? Otter, which I trigger with my iPhone’s Action Button, has been more useful. I can chat with my notes, find patterns, and actually get value from what I record. Plaud really needs to step it up with AI-powered tagging, smart folders, and at least the ability to chat with all summaries—if not full transcripts. Otherwise, this ends up being just another gadget gathering dust.

Hard to use, can’t access subscription I paid for. Only chat and email support that told me they would try to get back to me in 48 hours. Meanwhile I purchased a produce and subscription that I can not use. Can’t up load to computer app if have 5 G internet. Who has anything lower than 5 G anymore? Think I am sending it back.

I think it's rather ludicrous to charge 100$+ for the hardware here and on top of that charge extra for meaningful storage or the ability to query recordings. The hardware works okay; I wouldn't say I'm super impressed and I'm disappointed that to get the full value of this I have to pay 7$ a month indefinitely. I'd say I get 30% of the full potential of this on a free plan.

Tried signing up in app and didn’t work. Tried different email. Still didn’t work. Cool concept but nice if more than a concept.

It’s 2025 and no dark mode in app —horrible execution

I purchased other AI recording devices and they work for a couple of weeks before they stopped recording the full recordings. I have meetings that last for multiple hours and the Plaud AI is the best device I have ever used hands down it changed my live.

This device is truly incredible. I use it for all my meetings, for someone who has a bad attention span and large creativity. It really allows me to stay inside of my strengths and allow technology to handle my weaknesses. This has improved my work abilities, problem-solving, and idea generating 10x.

My husband was recently diagnosed with RCC. We use Plaud to help us better understand all the medical language in a usable SOAP format for us. Makes what we are going through a little easier.

I love it, I make it back from court and I already have a transcript! Awesome

The summaries save so much time, the free amount of data is almost enough but I don’t see why it is so expensive to subscribe… considering many other AI companions can do it for free of for less than $10 per month

How did I live without this fabulous assistant. The quality of analysis and structured output is outstanding.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have been using it even more than I thought I would. It works great with phone calls and was recording meetings. I use it for everything from meeting with contractors to discuss house plans to work meetings to patient care notes.

Plaud enables me to capture seminars so I can review and pull out my ideas and supporting connections that I had with other colleagues. This tools allows me to focus on better understanding the context, concepts, and relevant significances. Looking to try the AI feature(s).

Recording meetings and using the transcript from Plaud notes has changed everything about the way that I work. I recommend this to anybody who meets others for business. The quality of my work has soared. I recommend this device to everybody.

Really enjoying the Plaud Pro and web app. Only been using it for a few days but I can already see myself getting more accomplished in a better manner than before.

We have a handful of AI note takers at our PE firm and Plaud's summaries always smoke them!

Plaid remembers the speech better than I ever could and I see things in the transcripts that were so vivid in the meeting but I didn’t remember afterwards. Recommending you get one!
