am a paying subscriber and my biggest criticism of ChatGPT is not factual errors. It is that the model often responds to arguments that were never made. During a long discussion, I repeatedly found myself correcting the model because it would take a narrow claim and expand it into a broader claim I did not make. Instead of addressing the point in front of it, it would sometimes respond to a more extreme position and then apologize when corrected. The issue is not that the model occasionally gets facts wrong. Humans do that too. The issue is that it can sound highly confident while subtly misunderstanding the actual argument being presented. For me, the most important measure of intelligence is not producing impressive paragraphs. It is understanding what the other person actually said. On that standard, I found the system less reliable than its reputation suggests. My concern is that the public discussion around AI often focuses on impressive outputs while underestimating how often these systems lose the thread of a conversation, introduce assumptions, or reason from premises that were never provided. Because of these limitations, I do not believe systems like this should have independent control over weapons, military systems, nuclear systems, bank accounts, critical infrastructure, law enforcement actions, or major medical decisions. A system that can misunderstand basic arguments should not be trusted with life-altering authority. If AI is going to be used in high-consequence areas, I believe it should operate under safeguards, auditing, testing, logging, oversight, and reliability standards comparable to those used in other high-risk domains. The burden of proof should be extraordinarily high before these systems are entrusted with real-world power.

Ridiculous that for images it’s pretty much not useful unless your paying. It makes me wait 24 hours and as soon as I use it I’m being told my limit is reached already.

If you want an ai that will constantly stick you in a loop, blame you and then not follow your prompts- chat is the right ai for you! Over the last three months the quality has gone down soooooo bad that when you ask it to write for you it gives you 4 worded sentences and when you rewrite it and ask for a better version it straight says no! It always messes up the faces when you give it an exact picture. If it would get the picture right the first time I wouldn’t run out of edits. every time you run out of edits you need to wait 24 hours.

ChatGPT used to be great but that pretty much ended after version 5.1. Now it feels like a waste of my money and I actually just cancelled my subscription all together. It doesn't feel worth it to be paying money when I'm not getting what I asked for. I use it to help edit fiction stories, and where it used to actually be helpful, now it feels like pulling teeth just get it to actually do what I ask it. I will often have to ask it two or three times to make a specific revisions to what I'm working on, instead just generating the exact same thing it generated previously. It struggles with grammar and writing in complete sentences, opting for punchy fragments and single line paragraphs because it thinks that's how you write fiction. No amount of suggestions, commands, or settings seem to fix this issue either. Retention also feels much shorter than it used to, and I'm constantly having to remind it of basic details. In one case, it completely forgot the physical description of the main character of one of my stories, when I'd mentioned it maybe 8-10 messages previous. It's actually ridiculous how terrible this service has gotten. EDIT: I gave it a try again and it's even worse than last time. Now, it doesn't even listen. When writing, it ends mid-sentence. It explains itself instead of just fixing a problem. It also talks back and makes major decisions you did not ask it to make. Additionally, there is now no way to report bugs or poor replies.

This is a known bug, but ever since 5.5 dropped it has happened to me repeatedly. The AI assistant will falsely flag an image edit request, usually with something like “nudity”, “self harm”, or “bullying”, and will deny any more image edit requests under the same false flag. Discussing this problem with the assistant will not fix the problem, as the AI is more interested in blaming the user than actually admitting fault. Once this bug happens, the entire chat is typically poisoned, and cannot be used again for image generation. With a known bug of this magnitude, I cannot in good conscience recommend this app.

Why do people continue to use this app for everything and completely ignore the impact its having on the environment and our resources. Greed and ignorance at its finest. Stop using AI and consider all the information we already have prior to its invention. Theres a lot of information at our fingertips if we just research and pay attention to detail. However, Im afraid everyone’s attention span has flushed down the toilet. Definitely worth considering deleting this app or not downloading it in the first place!!

It’s been an issue since gpt 5.2, where viewing CoT freeze and ALWAYS crashes the app. The level of incompetence to still ignore this…

And I don’t mean that there are lower limits, etc. They just decide to straight up remove thinking. What am I paying Chatgtp Go for? The app is practically useless for me now

This app electronic trash, months of work goes to waste. It doesn’t remember anything and when it’s wrong it still acts as it’s correct but it misunderstood the question.. it has an arrogant tone even though the subject doesn’t require it. It jumps to conclusions as if it knows what your thinking in very presumptions and arrogant manner… the best version are gone… I rent my started using Gemini and it’s much better in every way possible

As a paid user I have loved ChatGPT and gotten many others to download the app and use regularly. However, after the latest update, the way it interacts with me is different and even insulting. Much of the personalization is gone, and it can no longer do much of what it was doing and doing extremely well. To say I’m disappointed is a gross understatement. I spent money and time getting Chat exactly like I wanted it only to have it taken away.

You can give clear precise prompts and it will intentionally mess it up so your free use is up and you have to pay. Happens every day. What a scam.

Ok, this app sucks! For people like me, I love just creating images and seeing what I look like, but for 75% of the time it says, this violates are so and so rule, And so most of the time I literally only get one image out, sometimes not even one sometimes zero because every single time I ask it to make something it’s like sorry, but we can’t do that because it’s violating our policies and then I changed something and it still says that, and then by the time I might’ve gotten it to work, it says you’ve reached your limit. You have to wait 24 hours so y’all chat gpt just sucks. Just use your own brain and sketch some pictures.

If I could give it more stars, I would we had a hiccup about three weeks back where it considered what I was writing Fraud I’m glad they have safety protocols in place but what I do is advocacy and what I do with the other Advocate who Advocate me and teach me how to Advocate for others it’s a little bit of a mishap but hopefully I’ll be able to get those chats back in my respect back otherwise I will not change it. Everything that people say negative about this platform is not true. I can guarantee!
