I don’t understand why every time I use Google Maps it makes me take 20 different turns and takes me the longer way instead of the straight shot that would be both faster and easier to arrive.

You can’t figure out how to link when I search in the Google app to Google Maps. So frustrating.

Changing routes last minute is dangerous, and always somehow favors toll paths regardless of “avoid tolls” setting. Yesterday it took us off the interstate twice to then u-turn and immediately get back onto the same interstate within 50 miles. The second time was a last second change that nearly caused a crash. The travel times are unreliable- as in the eta was 31 minutes, we turned off navigation to check after the second major screw up, decided on the no toll path at 40 mins to avoid getting back onto the interstate, and the alternate path (that was our original 31 minutes, was then showing +8 making it 48). I wish this were an isolated incident but the issues are coming more and more each day.

Very misleading page design, presenting a Sponsored Address larger than the destination, and placing only one “direction button” placed with sponsor. I would have love to attach a screenshot!!!!

The microphone disappeared and now you have the Gemini icon. Only gives me ONE choice of directions instead of 3. And THEY TOOK AWAY THE MUTE BUTTON. I know how to get out of my driveway and town; I’m less sure of the exit number an hour away. So now I have to either but volume down while it’s talking or tell Gemini to mute it. You just wrecked a great mapping software. I’ll be using other choices.

The last update has been horrible! It takes you on longer unnecessary routes at random times. I had to delete it until it gets fixed.

Unfortunately it’s awhile incorrect realtime speed while navigating Google Maps according to car speedometer and speed limit signs lights so google should fix it

I input planet fitness and it navigated me to a Crunch fitness. I guess it thought that was close enough? You’re better off asking random homeless people for directions than using this app

Going to try Apple Maps since Google Maps took away the NSEW indicator on CarPlay. Very poor decision on their part.

Since iOS 27, CarPlay maps will not show most of the time, but a Blank screen. Does this on 2 different vehicles.

In Los Angeles, the freeway on-ramp is closed, and despite tons of people reporting “lane closure”, this app will keep rerouting me in circles to the same closed on-ramp. Useless!

You ruined this app with the update…. GPS trying to take me through a gated community to get to Costco 🤦‍♀️

App doesn’t shows some routes that have less traffic

App does not show the correct names for the Gulf of Mexico or Lake Ontario. Grow a spine, Google.

Please add a button next to the search on the upper left corner of the screen that allows one-tap access to your “favorites” list. It’s a hassle to click search, then saved places, then favorites, and then select the saved address (especially while driving). It enhances safety.

The latest update made your app worse. Please fix it, it was perfect before the last update.

In the past few months the navigation is messy, routes do not make sense at all, getting worse in the past few years. I thought tech improves over time.

Forcing a voice change and not allowing us to change it back is ridiculous! I will no longer be using this app because the new voice is annoying!

Put the mute button back on the screen. Too many steps while driving to turn the function on or off. It’s stupid to use Gemini to do this function. To do it manually you need to pull up a screen access settings then the announcement function. All while driving. And your excuse is you wanted to save screen real estate!

They have removed the active compass and replaced it with a static icon for Gemini and there doesn’t seem to be any way to change that.

The maps have been saying I will arrive at a destination at a certain time but always extends it by 30 mins or so. Also they give me the weirdest directions without any filters being added.

Hey, stop rerouting in favor of less miles. Some people have to avoid areas that have heavy traffic and want to go around regardless of the distance. Fix this

stop changing the route automatically while I am driving. it is so dangerous and so annoying. it’s too bad this use to be the better map and now i’m deleting.

Ever since they added AI assistance they are now routing us thru condo complexes and alleys. They also have decided that crossing a 4 lane bi directional road w/o a light is better than going to an intersection with a traffic light. If I go to a place i have never been b4 i am afraid. And yes I turned off the efficient routing

The pinch/zoom pivot has been off-center on iPadOS for months now, making basic navigation in the app incredibly frustrating - zooming into the location you’re trying to see sends it flying off-screen. How does a bug like this persist for so long??? Please fix it!!!

Fix your damn app PLEASE. Can’t even get an accurate read from google website how far a place is, when I open the app- the instructions change. Literally why. Told me to drive far out to the west side, 3 hours away- on Maps through Google search engine. Switched to the Google Maps App then it said 8 minutes. HUH????? Which is it. FIXXXXX ITTTTTT ITS SO ANNOYING.

Lately, the directions on Google maps have been so bad. Forcing a left turn across traffic with no light when a right turn was totally possible. Not knowing where traffic signals are etc. Also, I don’t want Gemini in my maps. It’s just going to make everything worse. Going to be switching to Mapquest for navigation. They seem to still care about customer experience.

I love that no matter where I’m trying to go Google maps will always route me to the most expensive road tolls and the ones with the most traffic.

I loved Google Maps and was a regular user but I can’t anymore with their name changes for the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario. If you have no spine and no integrity I just can’t anymore. Sad to see Google Maps go and hello Mapquest!

Impossible to read a description of a location that’s in a shared list. Let’s say I’m looking at a restaurant which is saved on one of my lists. It only gives me a few words of the description on my saved list. Clicking the description to try and expand it, instead of doing so, takes you to the saved list itself. The only way to view the full description would be to then scroll in the list until I find the restaurant - because, incomprehensibly, there is no way to search a saved list.

After recent updates Google Maps has started putting the address of the business at the bottom of the listing, hiding it below unnecessary information and oftentimes 2-3 advertisements. One major benefit of an app like Google Maps has historically been being able to search for a business by name, and then copying the address to a rideshare app, a friend, or anything else. With this update Google has made this a significantly more annoying process, hiding the most vital information behind advertisements.

I will be sitting at a stop light for a full minute and it will take the car icon and move it 100 feet in a random direction and now it is sitting on a building

As essential as these apps are, I find it highly frustrating that I can select a route that has not tolls and the map will constantly try to redirect me to toll routes, many times without any notice. I can be on a toll free route almost the whole way and then all the sudden the road changes to a toll road when i had selected a toll free route. It would be nice if the app knew when a tolls road was necessary because emany times on a long drive in state I dont need to take toll roads, but it’s always an option and google always tries to put me on them. Many times I can avoid it but because it is persistent and changes the route on the fly it will put me on a toll route without me even knowing. Thats why its one star and bad design. If I select a toll free route it is unacceptable to me to get routed to a toll route. If i do that every day it’ll cost me 1000s of dollars a year that i dont want to spend because the toll free route is also there. Google should be paying my tolls.

I updated the app and now it has Gemini integrated without my consent and with no way to remove it. Gross. I’m deleting this app.

Gulf of America, Lake America … what a bunch of spineless cowards. What’s next, renaming a state or an ocean? I uninstalled google maps, didn’t realize how much the alternative map apps have improved.

This is catastrophic, I lost so many of my saved, want to go and other custom lists. I use this to organize my trips and remember restaurants that I’ve visited.

Fine app but I’m not gonna support a company catering to Trump’s tantrums. Change Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico back to their proper names.
