I was surprised to discover that my annual subscription had auto-renewed after I had not used the app for more than a year. The subscription was not visible in my Apple App Store subscriptions, and I did not notice any renewal reminder before being charged. When I contacted customer support shortly after the renewal, I requested a refund due to the lack of usage and the unintended renewal. Unfortunately, my refund request was declined, and I was instead offered a partial refund or an upgrade to a higher-tier plan. The content itself may be useful for some users, but my experience with the subscription renewal and refund process was disappointing. I would encourage potential subscribers to carefully monitor their renewal dates and check the auto-renewal settings before committing to an annual plan.

I am extremely disappointed with Blinkist’s predatory renewal practices and lack of accountability. I was recently charged for an annual Premium renewal despite the fact that my account dashboard explicitly listed my status as "Basic" (the free tier). Because the UI showed I was a Basic user, there was no "Cancel Subscription" option available to me. I had no way to stop a renewal that the system claimed didn't exist. I haven't used the app in months and would have canceled long ago if the interface had accurately reflected my status. When I contacted support, they refused a refund, citing that I am "not a new customer." This is a completely irrelevant excuse. This isn't about a change of heart; it’s about a technical discrepancy on their platform that made it impossible for a user to manage their subscription. Charging a user while showing them a "Basic" status is misleading at best and a technical bug at worst. Blinkist would rather keep a one-year fee from a non-user than fix a clear error in their system. Advice to others: Do not trust the account status shown in the app. Check your bank statements and original sign-up emails, because Blinkist’s UI might tell you you’re on the free plan while they’re preparing to charge you for Premium.

The app is very broken. Read that again. I hope the developers take some action to fix the bugs but even with the newest updates some major bugs are still present. I used to use this app since 7 years ago and felt in love with it the first time I listened to a blink. And generally speaking the ride has been a rollercoaster, especially with some blinks being politically charged and others being too simplistic. Anyway, nowadays the biggest hurdle in using this app is that the daily blinks don’t load for me at all, neither the text or the recordings. Been like that for a week, which is a pity.

This app is suffering from AI in two ways. On one hand AI is going to kill its business model because it’s no longer a premium service to get book summaries in audio form. If blinkist used only human reviewers that were not using AI then I’d argue it would still be worth a premium price. But when your “blink” is filled with so many padding words and phrases, a hallmark of AI generated slop, then it defeats the very concept of having short summaries. And that’s the second way AI is killing this service. The quality of the blinks is terrible. Half of everything in the blink is empty text. Reading other reviews it seems like blinkist is in a downward spiral in how they run their business too. Ppl complaining of scammy practices regarding renewals etc. what I observed first hand is they are desperate to get new subs. You can google around and find a link to 80% off of an annual membership. I didn’t use it but the link was live and took me to a page trying to get you to buy now with a fake countdown timer deceiving you with some false scarcity. The other thing I noticed is the moment I cancelled my “free trial” the service stopped working even though I’m entitled to 6 more free days per Apple’s policy. So clearly this is a sinking ship. You’d do better looking for edification elsewhere. It’s sad because when it first started up (a decade ago?) before AI it was actually a really good service that put some effort into generating blinks that were worth reading.

The app didn’t inform before charging the next subscription. The support team is very slow to proceed the refund.

Please be careful the app charge Hefty fee as they will force renewal as you need to put in your card info in app. Cancel at the app store level isn’t sufficient.

And loading… and loading.. and loading..etc. Re-install didn’t help. Pro account is worthless.

It doesn’t work, I can’t get/pay the offers I’m given. When I do pay the app doesn’t get my payment so I can’t read the book I started. And the help centre leaves you hanging and doesn’t respind to my questions…. Don’t do it!!!

The app has some really nice book summaries yet most of the books are ‘selfhelp’ meaning, redundant words put on paper. Also the personalized ai summary will take a 150 page book, generate a 5 minute ‘summary’ skipping most of the context and ideas. I like the idea, i just don’t like the actual app.

The app can not work during flight mode even downloaded, the app actually can not work properly when you are in the flight. Really sad to pay for the app as I do like the concept so want to do it during flight but turn out it’s not. Just update here as before writing the comments here I had already been working with their team couple weeks however can’t sort out the issue, keep delete, update, reinstall the apps made me crazy, now obviously they don’t communicate with the support team and still ask me to reach their support team?

The App is okay to skim through some books but too many that are much the same also I bought the AI update which was a waste of money. App support basically non existent - I have had a problem with downloading books so I can read when I’m travelling used to work okay, but now doesn’t. Reported it, they eventually acknowledged as a bug but almost 2 months later it’s still not fixed.

In the three weeks I’ve had the app, I haven’t once been able to get the my library page to load. So once I finish a blink it is difficult to retrieve it later. And because they are so short and punchy I really want to go pack over them at times! The ‘my library’ page is always stuck on a pageloading status when ever I click on it, and it has never once opened for me! Another glitch that is very disappointing is a that when I am playing a blink and I click on the icon for its text summary, it never gives a summary of the blink I am reading, instead the content given is always from a different title entirely (which I’ve read before) and it has no relevance to the current blink. I have tried to click app support here from the App Store however it take me to a Blinklist page that says, “UH OH. THAT PAGE DOESN'T EXIST.” I give a lower review because I wouldn’t have expected these types of functionality issues in app I’ve paid for for. I hope the team reads this and can make some quality improvements please.

if I want to spend money in micro learning I would go to udemy and make a full learning for skills....

I liked the idea of the app, purchased a subscription and then was unable to create an account due to errors. I see that more people face this problem, then need to solve via support mail.. if onboarding a user is so hard, imagine the rest of the app..

As a Portuguese speaker I feel insulted the app changes to Spanish without my consent and won’t give an option to change, despite “Spanish (beta)” being ticked off

I was a huge fan of Blinkist summaries, and with great enthusiasm, I invested in a subscription to access the knowledge-packed, concise content Blinkist is known for. However, I’m genuinely disappointed by the app’s performance issues, which seem to worsen with each update. Every day, I encounter recurring problems that make the experience frustrating. The font size tool, which should improve readability, doesn’t function at all. Additionally, summaries frequently disappear mid-reading, leaving the screen blank, and the app often hangs to the point where I’m forced to restart it, only to experience the same issues repeatedly. It feels as though the development team has not given adequate attention to maintaining the app’s quality, which has honestly degraded to a near-unusable state. I’ve always valued Blinkist’s content, but it’s hard to enjoy it when the technical experience is this poor. Please take these issues seriously. A prompt resolution with the next update is crucial to restore the app’s usability. Without it, I’d have to reconsider my subscription, as the app simply isn’t delivering the quality experience I expected and paid for. I genuinely want to see Blinkist succeed but can’t continue with these frustrations.

Content is good, but the media player is unstable - moves around the screen and buttons don’t work consistently. Please fix, I’m already paying for subscription.

I subscribed using an influencer account for a discount. I keep getting emails for blinks to access but cannot log in to the account to actually access anything. I’ve sent multiple emails and heard nothing back other than the generic we’ve received your email message. Really disappointed and can’t even rate how the free trial is going because I can’t log on. I’m assuming they’ll take my money in two days when the free trial ends and then maybe they might let me access my account?!?! But I’m pretty annoyed and will be asking for my account to be closed as I cannot access it anyway! I’m unsure why Blinkist have replied saying everything’s been sorted- that’s news to me as I’m yet to receive a reply and they’ve just charged my account too- and I still cannot access the account. Blinkist have replied stating my issue has been resolved- it has not. I’ve only received generic ‘we will get back to you’ emails and they’ve now charged my account too.

Absolutely love Blinkist, I have been reading Blinkist for almost a year now every day. Became extremely disappointed when I lost the ability to flip through pages and read without having a play button constantly at the bottom of my screen. I suggest making a setting with a the old layout available because this new layout only favors those who listen to audiobooks, as someone who enjoys reading this was extremely disappointing. Other than that the app is great!

I bought a one year subscription but I didn’t find it really useful. Therefore, I decided to cancel it, but I suddenly get a notification that I got charged a full one year subscription. Haven’t been able to contact support on this matter so far and would like to find a way to get a refund.

This crowd has a really bad practice. Their subscription and payment is deliberately confusing and nonfictional to take your money and then ghost you. And because they only do subscriptions yearly they hope you’ll forget and get to charge you again. I would like to mention that you can’t remove the card info from your account either and the price per subscription is really high compared to the value they offer. Don’t fall for their crazy offers as that’s how they lure you into this mess. This is as close to a scammer as it gets and still be legal.

Esse é o melhor app de resumo de livros (já usei outros dois), mas só tem em inglês e alemão (o idioma espanhol está em versão beta — 2023). Podemos traduzir pelo Google Chrome ou outro navegador, mas sempre tem alguns erros de tradução. Imagino que não custaria muito para traduzir com um tradutor virtual e revisar/corrigir os (mínimos) erros com um tradutor humano. Sou assinante do 12min, mas o Blinkist é mais padronizado/organizado: formato de escrita, capas dos livros, coleções, guias… e tem um acervo de +6 mil títulos (imagino que seja o dobro do 12min). Estou tentando outros apps de resumo de livros: Headway, Uptime, Fábula, Shortform, Storytel… Talvez encontre algum tão bom como o Blinkist e com todos o e-books traduzidos para o português do Brasil 🇧🇷

The app’s subscription process is scammy. When you download the app you’re forced to agree to a trial subscription that will renew after a week. The problem is there are apparently several subscription tiers and the app automatically subscribes you to the most expensive one - a full year at over $100 or roughly the cost of a premium streaming service - with no prompts or reminders or warnings whatsoever. The product description page refers to a “basic” tier although that does not exist anywhere. Once subscribed, if you try to cancel the subscription they’ll assure you that your subscription will indeed be cancelled - in a year. I ended up asking Apple for a refund and will update this review with the results. Subscription scams aside, I love the idea of this app - delivering summaries and key ideas from long-form content in a condensed form. This approach works especially well with 200 page “7 Things” or “How to achieve your dreams” sorts of books with a few main points and a ton of frivolous content. The problem is that seems to be pretty much all the books - after listening to a dozen or so it becomes clear that structure, sleep, good habits and being thoughtful about spending and saving are things we all need to do more of (in case you didn’t already know that). Don’t expect to learn anything of substance. Update: Apple refunded the subscription fee. The developer responded with an explanation but I assume they’re either being disingenuous or have never tried their own flows. There’s no way to use the app without setting up an account, which requires a trial, which triggers a one year subscription. If that’s not what you want be prepared for some hassles.

Despite promises of automated downloads of what you like the app doesn’t seem to be able to download content. At first I thought it’s due to unstable internet connectivity, but even with stable internet connectivity the app keeps failing at downloading bookmarked books. Support is delusional in thinking that this feature works perfect so I gave up after exchanging few emails with them. Overall, regretful purchase due to bad content download management on the provider side.

Wasn’t able to have a refound. Hope they won’t steal another 100$ from me next year but apparently there is not much i can do.

I love reading nonfiction, so thought I’d give Blinkist a go… Perhaps save some time, and skip all the filler. I signed up for the free trial, but forgot to cancel before the end and was signed up for their most expensive package… WAYYY more than I would have ever paid for this. I decided that since I’d already paid for it, I might as well try to use it. I listened to a few books, and some were OK, but I had such a hard time finding any decent books to read. Every time I searched for something I wanted to read, they didn’t have it. I’m coming up to the end of 1 year of paying for this app, and I can safely say, it’s definitely not worth the money they charge for it. I think I listened to maybe 3 or 4 of them in the entire time I had the app. They’re not enjoyable. Any book worth reading can’t be summed up in a short amount of time. I’ll stick with Audible and reading actual books instead of this garbage. Very dissatisfied.

Gave me a week free trial, but when I cancelled it, they still charged me and went into overdraft on my credit card, charging me an extra 100$ and now messing up my credit. Absolutely disgusted at how they did this to me. Appalled at customer service too. Terrible and insidious workers and company. Stay away

It’s sounded so promising: an app that lets you read books in a short amount of time. And you can let it read to you. The books are predominantly American and have no connection to a European reader at all. It’s mainly clickbait titles that tell you to do American way of life things that don’t resonate at all, living in Europe. Seemingly this is a German app, created by hugely talented young people. And they probably love the great American lifestyle but please look around you. You’re based in Berlin. The only American thing is Checkpoint Charlie. The rest is European legacy. Give me more of that and I will happily subscribe. The voice overs are simply not so good if not bad. Wrong intonation, starting new with recording every alinea and again American voices. There are at least 3 official English variants. It would be great to be able to choose at least. And hire an expert to choose those voices. With 20 million subscribers you have some budget to up that game. Kudos to the concept, it’s brilliant. As is the design and it’s functionality. And the succes. Well done!

There are few reasons, 1. Book varieties are much less than you think. 2, not worth the price you pay for those shortcut summaries. 3, all those book summaries are too short without bring all the main points from the book as I deliberately read the book I have read before and read from this app again, so I know it’s missing a lot of good points! 4, not worth the price that summaries are wrote subjectively. 5, not worth the price that it advertises short listening, would increase your knowledge of the book, either you find a lot of main points or good points are missing from the book. 6, not sure who they hire for to write all those summaries that are extremely “short cut” and all summaries just not wrote the price at all. 7, this app doesn’t refund because they really scare you find out that’s not worth the money at all. 8. You wouldn’t find famous books or books you have read before, so save your time and money to this app as it doesn’t deliver what it’s promised. 9. It really wastes my money.

I always have trouble with the script showing while playing audio. For instance, when it’s playing Blink 5, the script automatically jumps back to the opening before Blink 1. When I swipe left to right to move to the next blink on script, it automatically jump back the the first page of script (the opening). When I decide to move to next blink in Audio instead of script, the audio changes blink very smoothly, but if I click to script icon on top right while the audio is playing smoothly, the script again shows the opening page and the audio automatically plays back from the beginning instead of keeping playing the current blink I chose. I updated the app but the issue hasn’t disappeared. It’s really annoying me!

Content wise a great app, but managing your content is poorly done. Above all customer service is really bad. I have been plagued by the issue that my reading (queue) list is randomly deleted all the time and after an initial response customer support is now simply ignoring support requests 😒 Therefore they deserve no more then 2*

I could buy 2 ebooks a month instead of paying your subscription. When will people realize humans want to pay for something and own it. With Microsoft Office, you’d pay 35$ for your license (which you could typically share with at least one person), and MS would provide free updates, as the updates are TO IMPROVE A PRODUCT PEOPLE PAID FOR to last more than a month. I would even pay for that model once a year. MS office is 7$ per month, but I need it. Every company wants to make their money with subscriptions, and they're ALL expensive, and people basically sign away their money to you if they want to keep using. I’m not so lazy that I’m going to pay you 15$ a month so you can read for me. If I like reading and learning, why would I not read. Who is this for? Is this meant to be hyper-expensive cliffs notes? And DO NOT try the trial. You have all you need to know. All that will happen is people forget to cancel, and instead of them charging by the month (where you can swallow your error), you’re slapped with paying for an entire year. Beware all trials. Apps make their money by luring people with very short trials and hoping they forget to cancel. How can someone afford to live when it seems like you need a subscription to buy air. Subscriptions are Ponzi schemes. You get to pay for the app creators to keep cleaning up their sloppy apps. 15$ a month so someone can read books for me? There is no inherent use other than cheating when asked about a book. This is basically cliff notes, for 100$ a year....

In the app they print that the app will expire on a specific date and will not auto renew. Guess what? It’s not true they will charge you $104 anyways. Very dishonest company. Membership cannot be cancelled in app...they make it very time consuming to cancel.

무료trial하다가 1년plan으로 넘어갔는데 9만9천원이 너무 비싼것같아서 1개월짜리로 바꿔서 만6천원이 더 결제됐는데요. 근데 9만9천원은 환불되지도않고 오늘 app들어가보니 1달짜리도 취소돼있습니다. 물론 만6천원은 환불안되있구요. 듣고싶은게있어서 restore purchases눌렀더니 1달짜리 플랜이 restore되었는데 만6천원이 추가 결제안되게 조치 부탁드리고, 환불안된 9만9천원 환불해주길 바랍니다.

I tried the 7 day free trial and then was charge 172$ for the annual subscription!!! I would have paid for one month, since a 7 day trial is not enough time to determine if I want to use the app for a whole year. But I got charged for one year and I'm really mad and having trouble with Apple getting my money back which is causing me even more irritation towards this app. I'm in disbelief that they charged me 1 year and have never used an app free trial that has charged me such an amount. I don't want to ever hear another Blinkist in my life so please give me my money back for a service that I will not use.

The app is pretty nice but the commercial trap is not. After a week of free use you’re automatically subscribed for a year ($60). No clear communication about that upfront. Very tricky. Didn’t use the app once and still had to pay.

Die Idee finde ich gut, der Preis für ein Jahresabo ist mir leider viel zu hoch. Ich werde das Abo zu dem Preis sicher nicht kaufen. Es gibt zwar die 7 Tage Testversion - wenn man vergisst rechtzeitig zu kündigen hat man das teure Jahresabo an der Backe. Testen stelle ich mir anders vor. Sehr schade.

I read a Blinkist edition (of Becoming by Michelle Obama) twice, then I tried to have a conversation about the book with someone who had read the book. Not only did I say foolish things in the conversation—an event that was a turning point in the blink was a minor point for the person who’d read the book, and the event that the book-reader said actually mattered was unmentioned in the summary—but I also missed a huge number of major plot points and found an exceptional personal memoir reduced to something less interesting than a Wikipedia bio. I did the one-week free trial of unlimited and listened/read a bunch of other books, including some books I’ve read, and the rereads didn’t remind me of anything I’d read in the books, and the other books didn’t pique my interest or even give me an impression about what I might get out of the books if I read them myself. I found complex political thought reduced to a basic list of facts, simplistic narratives, and nothing to prompt introspection or applying the topic to my own life. The one summary that seemed halfway decent was The Four Agreements, which was more or less a briefer summary of a book that I assume started out as a list of for takeaways anyway. Other than that single genre of self-help/self-improvement books—I.e. things that could have been article-length listicles anyway—I didn’t find the summaries effective for any of the kinds of reading I would want to do in an app like this. In many ways I fear the summaries are worse than not reading the book at all, because they might give the opposite idea about the subject itself.

Es ist eine absolute Frechheit wenn die Abos chf und euro vergleicht. Ebenso wird in Euro 30 Tage zum testen angeboten und in der Schweiz nur 7 Tage bei Abschluss eines Jahres Abos! Ihr deutsche meint auch wir in den Alpen sind alle ... Hätte sicher ein Abo abgeschlossen jedoch nicht mit dieser ungleichen Behandlung von Kunden bzw. Interessenten. Ebenso 79€ Jahres Abo (aktuell wären das grade mal ca. 86chf) und Ihr verlangt jedoch 119 chf ???

During my free trail,I have been unable to access any content. Without signing up to more conditions. What’s the point of a free trail if I cannot actually try any of the content. This is a 35 million dollar startup and their price point is way off, for the services they are offering. How can you legitimately offer a 15 min condensed synapses of a “self help” book. Seriously isn’t personal development dependent on the individual. I don’t think correlating the most highlighted texts and condensing them into a 15 minute review is actually worth your subscription price. I do understand that is “one” of your genres, and does not mean the same throughout. More or less I didn’t actually see many books that were backed up with facts and static’s, more so of the pseudo psychology vibe. Also I don’t trust this app, I got offered a 20% discount because I haven’t finalised my subscription. So what is the real price point here? If your just handing out this discounts to people who are actually thinking about their purchase. Overall this app could be very beneficial to the collective and humanity, But as it stands right now I feel Blinklist is just trying to ride a wave in the “self improvement field” and cash a big check at the end. Feel it out for yourself, something is off with the integrity of this app.

This app said free trial and I was sent email saying I signed up for a year! This is called scamming! It would be not as bad if I actually am able to use the app! Once I signed up for the free trial, the app stoped working. I deleted and reinstalled to no avail. DO NOT GET This app!

They should learn from Headspace where u get free access without headaches for 10 lessons. Why dont not get 1 or 2 books for free? A free trial hast to come pain free, without any later required action from the user to opt out. You cannot try a book upon installation without having to be forced to sthg. App deleated.

For an app that claims to present best nonfiction content in a nutshell, this one is a disappointment. A huge one. Its one thing to base a business idea on people’s pathetic reading habits, but you have to know whom you are addressing after all- are they non readers (they won’t change their habits with your content), people with minimal reading (they have seen better), or someone who has no exposure to most basic social media (yes, they are a nice target group, at least some clickbaits would increase acquisition!) I got free version, the samples were too few in numbers (1 in each category) and too less in-depth. If I need their paid version to know “excerpts” of what books Bill Gates read, you are in for an enlightenment. Nonfiction is a mammoth category-and someone capable enough to curate that requires to be of Warren Buffet’s reading stature to begin with. The usual sign up flow harassed me with technical error, something from a rookie dev who seems to have delivered in hush-hush timeline. It seems like the owners spent too much on Facebook marketing (I see their ad daily) - a portion of that needs to go to curation team and developers. Look at what medium is able to provide- you are ruining a goldmine opportunity.

I downloaded this app 1 week ago, lured in by the 1 week free trial. Unfortunately I have been working flat out this week, literally night and day. I haven’t even opened the app until just now when I received a message saying I’ve been charged almost USD100!!! It’s a f—-ng outrage!! No notification or even given a choice of which subscription! It’s like a scam scheme!! Apple won’t refund me so now I’m stuck with an app I don’t even won’t to open again! Feeling completely lost for words

I used app before, but end up signing up for audible. Said will give it a try again, but book suggestions instead offering business books show books about refugees and other SJW crap. I get that agenda from news and will never pay to a company who uses platform to spread single sided political views. Blinkist you just lost my business after spending so much money on ads just because you push political opinion without learning what I really need.

I was acknowledged that after 7days of trial, i will be charged for a year of subscription. So after 7 days, the bill came in and i was excited to listen to my favourite book from Malala. Then I realised that it was unlocked and it wanted me to unlock again my 7day trial. Seriously i feel so mad and it made me think that this app used this trick to get paid. Clearly the price is not cheap but you want me to take the free trial again?? And then i found out that i can only access to all book if i become premium member. What? It didn't give me any information or choice to choose which type of member I want. I really don't like this app now but apple has refused to accept my refund.

I have stopped using the iPad app and just open directly from Google Chrome.design is more polished and it doesn't take the full width which makes it easier to read fast. I wish the iPad app had a way to resize margins to my preference and have two columns in landscape mode Last,the iPad app doesn't sync progress properly. And sometimes it still shows books I have completed in my library

After free trial, it automatically charged me for a full year of premium subscription. I logged out and deleted the app the week before, and then today I was notified he app automatically charged me for over a hundred dollars for their 1 year premium subscription. I chose to cancel subscription and it shows I am still subscribed to it and the previous cancel option in their manage subscription window disappeared, the page became uninteractable. Am I looking at another unauthorized automatic bill this time next year?

Dear Blinkist, Thank you for the trial. I have now tried Blinkist about a day and listened to close to 9 blinks. I am unsubscribing. Maybe there is a good intention somewhere in the business mission, but I don't see it. I found very irritating the voices of the nine blinks I heard. It’s my impression the format of this "blinks" cheapen, minimalize and demean what is contained in full-length books. It's tasteless and forgettable. Imagine you're in a restaurant and you order a plain or gourmet meal and you receive a meal in a capsule. I couldn’t find the book I wanted to read and the app was very confusing would not recommend

Gut gemacht, aber kaum etwas in Deutsch. Die App hält nicht, was sie verspricht, weshalb ich mein Geld zurückfordere, zumal man auf Reklamationen nicht antwortet...

Despite engaging the full year subscription at the enrolment phase, and a flurry of welcoming messages from “Emily”, I was unable to login to my “free trial” on either the site or app before being forced to change a password I had just created! Then I started getting pop-ups telling me my payment had been cancelled. After the 4th attempt including deleting and reinstalling the app I gave up. Great idea but execution sucks. And now I have manually CANCELLED payment for the renewable one year subscription. The thing is I’m one of those people who won’t be back. So, “Emily” you might want to rethink this years vacation! Who needs this kind of hassle? Back to Kindle for the “full story”.

Would love to give a rating of 4 however I really hope Blinkist development team can improve on some of the features. Eg 1) my Library page is always updating and I cannot access it even restarting the app. 2) And some of the books I’ve finished or manually marked finished, still get selected for me. Somehow they don’t get registered as read. 3) highlights - I am unable to highlight a few sentences together or it will be undone again. * will be good if the highlights can be synced with Notes for Apple or other notes taking app for us to put some comments on our learnings or takeaways as well! Overall it’s a great app and I loved it better than other books app :) hope it can even get better for users!

This is honestly one of the best app purchases I’ve made this year. I’ve been trying to replace my time on social media like TikTok and Instagram, and using Blinkist instead has been such a positive change. The amount of knowledge and the content it offers with the book summaries is amazing—I feel like I’m learning so much! I’ve started playing Blinkist while I’m working instead of listening to music, and it’s been a game-changer. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I’m so happy with it. One small feedback: it would be great if some book summaries were a bit longer—maybe around 30 minutes for those that have more in-depth content to share. That would make the experience even better. Please, Blinkist team, keep adding more and more titles. I absolutely love this app!

Download books is not working correctly. Most of the time not working. What user expect is when you click download, i will download automatically, Some books will not sync the audio and words correctly. And most importantly. Book no sync between devices or it will open on different place the next time. It frustrating.

I was introduced to this app by a friend, who shared a book on it with me so that I could have a taste of it on the book I like. I can no longer do so. I’ve subscribed it for the second year. I’ve encountered a few issues but couldn’t get the team to respond. It’s been a week. There’s only an interim reply that says they’re busy handling the Black Friday sale. Otherwise the app is good.

Dear Blinkist, If you want to be very effective with your summaries the book must be always in the same format. Otherwise is difficult to memorize the main takeaways when we do other things while hearing your summaries. To me the most effective is: number of the Blinkist, short title for the main idea and lastly the explanation. If I hear a book called 41 laws of power and then I hear only 5/7 of them is not a good summary , at least to me

This app is absolutely amazing. I’m grateful and ecstatic that I discovered it, but annoyed I haven’t been using it longer. It condenses almost every book conceivable — philosophy, politics, relationships, you name it — into what you need to know, breaking it down by chaptered themes, with examples; obviously, I’m not recommending this as an alternative to actually reading the books, but if your objective is just to glean, in a very practical, manageable format (just the perfect length — not as cursory as an internet summary, not as lengthy and tedious as a critical essay), the essentials, you can’t do without this. It allows you to expose yourself to SO much, so easily and quickly, and it makes learning really quite fun. It’s also an excellent substitute for the infamous, mindless “doom-scrolling”, given it’s organized similarly. Almost every book is available with voice narration, too.

When I highlighted in the first paragraph and try to highlighted another sentences, the previously one will be demolished…Can someone fix this bug as soon as possible？it’s really frustrating when you realized at the end of chapter…, thank you.

The fact that this app came with voice sharing makes my life easier and wanting to learn more ❤️❤️ Im not a book readers but im wanting to gain more knowledge. This app really helps with the summary; but most app offered this feature as main one & the voice sharing is the differentiator thus far.

Have been using this for the last 7 years and it has without a doubt improved how I go about everything in my life. The problems you have are unique to you, but the solutions are generally along the lines if what people have been going through all along and have figured it out. 10 minutes is all it needs when you're serious enough about something and you have something like this your side.

Aug ‘24 .. still a good app with regular updates. Some functionality I’m just not interested in as I just want a quite calming reading experience where I can leave the growing mess that is internet behind. Overall Blinkist is quite good for this but recently I am finding the UI is not feeling quite as smooth flowing as was .. and I have been experiencing multiple crashes mid-read, I struggle to get rid of the audio reader tab at the bottom of the screen and when scrolling the text movement is jerky / jumpy which is REALLY distracting and annoying (Maybe the latest release fixes this?) but overall the concept is good. My wish is to focus solidly on performance and smooth calming user experience and don’t just add unnecessary functions for the sake of it —— 31 January : I was just about to update this review to say the app still does not work but thought I would delete and reinstall .. and now it works :) … so if anyone is having issues on ipad, this action may be worth a shot! ——— Have been using for nearly year and is overall pretty good. Works well is simple and clear and above all adds value. Where the detail is not enough then I have enough information to make an informed decision about whether to order the full book or not. Zunächst die gute Nachricht - die Idee ist hervorragend und spart wirklich Zeit. Zudem ist der Support vorbildlich. Bei mir funktionierte die Offline-Bibliothek im Urlaub nicht und es wurde sich mit größter Mühe der Sache angenommen. Ich war wirklich beeindruckt. Die Zusammenfassungen sind gut gemacht und sparen enorm Zeit. Das eine oder andere Buch kannte ich schon und war froh, einmal die unverwässerte Essenz präsentiert zu bekommen. Eine echte Hilfe für 'ungeduldige' Leser. Schlecht finde ich allerdings die überschaubare Auswahl. Ich habe jetzt so um die 27 Titel in der Bibliothek zum lesen gespeichert und ich fürchte, es werden auf absehbare Zeit nicht viel mehr werden. So ein Surrogat ist in 15 Min. gelesen. Die Auswahl an deutschen Büchern ist einfach zu überschaubar. Kann ich andererseits auch verstehen, denn die entsprechende Bearbeitung ist bestimmt recht aufwendig. Den Abo-Preis finde ich persönlich zu hoch, auch wenn der Aufwand diesen ggf. rechtfertigt. Da würde ich im Zweifelsfall eher mit etwas Werbung leben können.

I’ve been using this app for 3 months , overall great app to be exposed to multiple subjects. However my husband & I feel that the level of detail in the summary is often missing - sometimes overly simplistic - almost intended for the average mind. It would be wonderful if they can offer 2 options for every book - eg 10 min or 20 min summaries. This is especially so in the age of free AI and online book summaries.. 2) If I fall asleep while listening, and the app would automatically play the next book and so on. I would hope there is a way to unmark the ‘read books’. That aside, overall good app.

ch habe die App Blinkist für ein Jahr genutzt und war sehr zufrieden mit dem Konzept, kurze Zusammenfassungen von Sachbüchern zu hören oder zu lesen. Die App ist einfach zu bedienen und bietet eine große Auswahl an Themen und Autoren. Ich fand es besonders praktisch, die Blinks unterwegs oder in kurzen Pausen zu konsumieren. Leider wurde mein Abo automatisch verlängert, obwohl ich es vergessen hatte zu kündigen. Das war ein bisschen ärgerlich, aber der Support hat mir schnell geantwortet und mir mein Geld zurück erstattet. Das fand ich sehr kulant und professionell. Der einzige Nachteil für mich war, dass die Auswahl auf Dauer zu lästig auf Selbsthilfe-Büchern basierte. Ich hätte mir mehr Vielfalt und Tiefe in den Blinks gewünscht, vor allem in den Bereichen Geschichte, Kunst und Wissenschaft. Deshalb habe ich mich entschieden, die App nicht mehr zu nutzen. Trotzdem kann ich die App Blinkist für alle empfehlen, die sich für persönliche und berufliche Weiterentwicklung interessieren und wenig Zeit zum Lesen haben.
