If this ad block is suppose to block ads, it sure is not doing it. All lists enabled including extra and still ads. Waste of money and time.

It worked great for about 3 days the the ads apparently found a way to bypass it. I have the up to date version.

I never could get filter to activate. I tried a couple different iPads and my iPhone Air. No matter how many support articles I read or tricks I tried, I could never get past ‘Wipr has been disallowed from adding URL Filter Configurations ‘ which made the whole app useless to me. There are already browsers that block ads. The only reason I bought Wipr was for Filtr. I will say that Wipr worked on most sites- not YouTube though. If I had known I could not get Filtr to work, I would not have bought the app.

I bought this specifically for my iPad so I was very sad to find out it’s not even an option for it

All it does is make it so you can’t read the website. I don’t not sure what good that is.

Im not sure if im just an idiot or if it just doesn’t work. I followed the instructions and it hasn’t blocked a single ad.

I got the app and it didn’t work so I thought maybe I’ll get Filtr and nope nothing works. I did everything correctly but it just seems like the app is no good anymore.

Version 2 was launched as an upgrade to version 1, but it had no difference. To force people to buy it, version 1 was withdrawn. After selling at a lifetime price, another subscription has been added with another lifetime price. Greed has no bounds. Neither does this developer in their shady pricing.

Overall doesn’t work. The only ads it successfully blocked is on YouTube. On normal browsing websites for reading, it either fails to block ads or if it does, safari repeatedly crashes so the site is unusable anyway.

Bought this for one specific site for streaming and it does nothing. Enabled all the extensions. Kinda annoyed, I’d like my 5 bucks back honestly.

Failure of an ad blocker. Costs money, yet 75% of ads come through. Developer’s FAQ file seems snarky.

I loved Wipr, had no issues until a recent Apple update. Now it doesn’t work and I’m not tech savvy enough to know how to fix it. I want to get rid of it and can’t even figure that out.

Maybe it’s just the web getting exponentially worse, but I find that this app leaves most ads and annoyances exactly where they are. I’ve also had to disable Wipr far more often than any other blocker I’ve tried due to it just flat out breaking a website. Pretty disappointed. Need to find a new blocker now, because my mobile browsing experience currently is very bad. On the major plus side, the developer pushes lots of updates and clearly cares about the project. I can’t fault them for that!

Prevents many websites from opening and gives ADBLOCKER detected pop up. Even after following all set up instructions explicitly. 1Blocker still reigns supreme opening all websites and no pop ups

I’m still getting pop up ads and viruses

Several months later and this plugin still fails to block ads from major ad networks. This may be specific to some websites but the other free extension works properly. I reported then this and is still not fixed. And yes I removed it, cleaned config files, etc, and reinstalled.

Pretty much every cooking website will load and a pop up will come up saying "There was a problem loading this page. Please click OK to learn more" and then it takes you to the anti Adblock website. This is very annoying and wipr does not prevent this. Please fix

Purchased due to the annoying amount of ads on recipe websites. Safari will now crash on those websites and force to turn off Wipr, there is no point in using the app anymore.

Wipr 2 advertises it will stop Google sign-in prompts. Purchased and fully installed. Google sign in prompts still appear. WIPR 2 is a scam.

Had the old WIPR, and it generally worked ok. This new one I have to disable all of the time, NYT pics don’t come through, websites won’t load, etc. Not my best spend. Disappointing.

I installed this because I have found the pop-ups and hidden ads that look like buttons to “continue” an article to have become completely overwhelming and destroying the ability to just read the page I’m on. Since installation, there has literally been no change whatsoever. For what it’s worth, I’m using Safari.

I YouTube and some websites that keep popping up ads and that’s why I purchased this useless app . Not recommended

This app costs money despite just using the same open source filter lists every other app rely on. And it’s not even as effective at blocking, despite spamming your extension screen with 5 sub-items. Worst of all, you never know when the developer is gonna come out with v3 and make you pay again.

FYI, this is my very first Apple Store review but I wanted to share my option in that I am not sure what this thing does because I do not notice any difference with ads. I was initially having issues of no longer being able to browse safari and listen to music at the same time like I have been for years. The ads on the page no longer mute and T which turns off my music. This occurs on nearly every single webpage (I do not have this problem in Chrome) So I actually spent money on this after reading rave reviews. I will say I have just as many ads as I have before, and in some ways it seems like there are more. I still get every popup I did before, and iPhone browses a little slower to boot. Safari still mutes my music when an animated ad is on the webpage, which is the only reason I bought this. I followed and used all of the wipr recommended settings Honestly can say I do not see any difference whatsoever than using the free ad blockers. So again, what does this thing actually do?

Does not block ads; probably doesn’t block trackers or anything. I reached out to the developer and was told the sites I provided “we’re clean”. What I submitted literally showed the app active and ads still displayed. No assistance from the developer other than pointing to the support webpages I already was on. $5 out the window.

Doesnt work. Tried it for youtube ads on safari and immediately got ads.

No longer works with YouTube via Safari. I troubleshooted various different methods but it seems like Wipr 2 no longer blocks YouTube Ads via Safari.

Extension works well, what impressed me is I had a very specific problem with Amazon webpage that probably most wouldn’t notice. I submitted a report, and a few days later got a response that it was fixed. That’s what dealing with one person gets you. Well done

I originally left the one star review stating that the app was not doing anything and just like the title, this was absolutely a user error issue, and again I want to thank the developer for responding so quickly, you rule!

Dev (Kaylee) cares about the end user, it shows in every interaction with the extension. Everything is carefully and meticulously thought of. A+ work!

Is $30 for THE BEST ADBLOCKER (wipr 2 at $5, filtr at $25) a lot of money? For me, no. Thats less than the cost of a raspberry pi and all other components to make a pi hole. This works on my iphone AND my mac. Only thing i will say is i better get at least five years of filtr support or i'll be frustrated i didn't go for annual billing.

Wipr 2 is darn simple. Even Troubleshooting is explained in normal terms. This lady is good!

Best add blocker I have used for my phone and MacBook! Just need to update the content blockers in the app every once in a while.

It just works. Worth every penny. Tried over Adblockers and they all were the same, nothing worked. Glad I found this app.

Runs great and seems to block almost everything for now once I fiddled with configurations and access. Will keep an eye on for sure but seems to work great.

Still get a lot of popups on websites

While I do use several ad blockers at times, this is my go-to and is installed on all of my devices. Not only does it block advertisements (in Safari), it helps provide some added privacy as well through blocking trackers, some added security (some ads are malicious), and improved speed (not loading all that blocked stuff). Excellent work, highly recommended.

This ad blocker is essential for everyone who seeks a cleaner internet experience. One thing to mention is when Filtr is enabled it drains battery faster than when it’s off.

With the new feature, it now blocks ads on app games. Those annoying ads, gone. I subscribed - it will probably pay for itself within the month, because I usually get so annoyed I buy the no ads option for games (if they’re under a certain price and I like the game enough). This is freedom! I love this app. I subscribed because I’d rather not try to predict when Wipr 3 comes out (when I’d have to buy everything again). It’s cheap enough, I’m happy to pay annually for essentially a service.

As the title says, I don’t rate apps…ever. This however is everything is promises to be. No annoying ads, no trackers. I can even read Apple News without scrolling past all the junk ads they put in there. I also purchased filtr as well. Worth every penny! Keep up the great work and thanks for a great app.

Does what it says. Upon initial install it wasn’t blocking ads but after going through all the help on the online website I got it running without a problem. The developer was fast to get back to me about getting the app running as well. Highly recommend!

Works perfectly. Better than anything else on the iPhone or iPad!

It seems to work and does the job most of the time, but have experienced it crashing Safari and causing Safari to quit unexpectedly causing me to lose all my tabs and work. Seems to be a known issue. Please address this.

Been using Ghostery for years, just read about Wipr with Filtr full system ad blocker, immediately paid for both, not only working nearly perfectly across Safari and other Apps but noticeably faster Safari performance as well. Nothing is ever tracked. My new favorite app.

Love everything about this, and the FAQ is so detailed! Could we ever expect a browser extension for use on windows?

Coming from Brave, this extension feels like it was baked directly into Safari and seems to provide the same level of ad-blocking and tracker blocking as Brave. Best extension of this type that I’ve used in Safari or Chromium.

I expected to see the equivalent performance from Wipr2 with Filtr as I receive from AdGuard for Mac. Unfortunately, this app cuts my browser speeds in half. Also, you state that Filtr is compatible with iCloud Private Relay (which it is) and with DNS apps (it is NOT). Overall, I think it was a complete waste of money upgrading to Filtr.

I’ve been an avid PC user since 1992 and moved into the “Applesphere” about 2006. In all those years, I have never used such a complete, no-nonsense, effective, easy-to-use, and affordable ad blocker. Kudos and thank you to the developers!

This is an effective and lightweight ad blocker. You just set it and forget it. Paid for Wipr 1 years and and bought 2. Still excellent app. Add to this the Filtr update, and it’s even better.

Love this ad blocker. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, on my MacBook, this ad blocker (when activated) would occasionally make my address bar disappear. I had to go into settings and restore it. Doesn’t happen all the time, but I thought my computer was hacked or something 😅

I’ve downloaded and tried pretty much every ad blocker out there. Wipr is the best. The one. The reference against which all others should be judged. If there’s anything to request, it’s an Apple TV version so I can dump my YouTube Premium subscription altogether. But even that doesn’t phase my sincere appreciation for this app.

I think every single apple device should have wipr on it, it’s so essential to my quality of life these days, it’s one of the few apps I’d happily pay a subscription for, but the creator is awesome enough to make it a one time purchase. 200% worth it

I've been using Wipr since it first came out. It was good at the beginning and continues to get better as time goes on. Today I added Filtr and it takes Wipr to a new level by protecting all of my apps from ads and other nonsense. My thanks to the developer for a fantastic app that is efficient and easy to use. I don’t normally leave reviews but I like to leave reviews on things I really like. Also sometimes idk what’s a bot or not in the reviews. So here’s my experience. I was on a streaming website and whenever I clicked anywhere on the page it kept doing pop ups that would take me to other webpages. Usually gambling or x rated sites. It was quite annoying as I was just trying to watch sports… anyways, initially after purchasing and downloading it didn’t work… then I noticed in the bottom left inside of safari I had to give it access to the website/web for it to work, as soon as I did it worked perfectly. Now I can watch streams on my phone ad/pop up free!!!
