Developers keep on pushing updates that break functionality or make it worse, can’t choose full range of colours anymore for instance on the score board.

Why do companies love to ruin good things? The new update locks the colors for the scoreboard and your limited?! Absolute garbage thankfully I’m under the 30 days this is going back!

Newest app update is terrible. Cannot track lacrosse anymore, camera kept turning back to center. They also updated the scoreboard and removed majority of the colors. Why remove white?

The auto tracking and auto zoom is lackluster with Falcon. Until that is fixed I will only rate this product 1 star due to the missed moments you are guaranteed to have.

Can no longer use an iPad to set a scoreboard. Set the boundaries or anything. Clear step backwards. Developers obviously don’t use the app just push worthless updates that make it harder to use.

The XbotGo hardware is at best an 85% solution on a good day, but 70% on a bad day. They use a heat map based model to track the players and the gimbal follows a centroid of the players. When it play it is good enough most of the time, but it will lose tracking during stoppages and substitutions. The fix was manual adjustments that were easy using the second screen feature and also had a scoreboard you could control. The latest update killed that. The manual remote disconnects every game and doesn’t automatically reconnect. The only option now is to pause recording, let it reset, and hope that it tracks again. Until they fix it, I would not buy XbotGo. It’s so bad our team is about to switch to Trace or Veo.

Purchased based on advertised capabilities (full price, not beta or kickstarter). Terrible tracking. No improvement with updates. Still can’t live stream reliably. Expensive mistake that has been shelved in the hope they might get their act together eventually.

The latest update made my remote quit working. During the game the camera would be completely turned around facing a wall instead of tracking the players. It also would not allow me to use the remote to tag portions of the video. First time o have had issues.

The app is riddled with ads and unnecessary video blocks. The app will not keep you log in and have to login after every use. Just make an app that works without the other stuff. It’s not like the camera is free. You paid for it already remove the unnecessary sales and videos and make the app more friendly.

Forcing me to have the XbotGo logo in every video is an instant dealbreaker. However great the product may be, I will never use it until they add the ability to remove the watermark.

Every time you update, it bricks the entire device. i didnt want to update it but it required me and i couldnt use it. buy something else….

The camera button doesn’t work anymore because of the update.

Sign in with apple doesnt work doesn’t even come close to working but it’s released?

The latest update removed the devices tracking ability and it will no longer track anything. Older version worked for years. New version doesn’t.

Lost a recording today because their cloud servers were down when the match started. Unacceptable for a device that touts no cloud/subscription required. Trace Cam has its faults but it requires zero service or internet connection to record a game.

Love this technology and I hate to have to write this review. Ever since the update it will not allow me to record or go live. It spins on data transferring. Over and over and over again. Please fix.

I can connect to the device. But it says network request timeout and I can’t record or do anything. It wasn’t clear to me that I can’t use my device with no internet connection. That’s ridiculous. The device should never depend on a connection other than to the phone to work.

I’ve had this camera for almost a year and it worked great up until now. I can’t even update the firmware. It’s completely worthless at this point. When will a fix be available?

Whatever update they pushed has turned our $600 camera & stand into a piece of junk, you can’t clear the network timeout error no matter what you try. Before this push, the Chameleon was GOLD and our soccer team recommended it to everyone. Please fix the app!!

Was impressed with the whole system prior to a recent update/issue with Network Request Timeout in the app. Missing big games/recording opportunities unfortunately.

Has a network time out so you can’t activate the recording. Customer service doesn’t work on weekends so can’t record games. Happened multiple times.

I just bought a XbotGo and the iOS app won’t let me record, so it’s basically worthless. I hope they post an update soon or I will return the device for a refund.

The new update has rendered the device completely unusable.

When I first got it i would say it tacked about 85% of the time. Sometime during a hot summer tournament the soccer mode stopped tracking. I submitted video and a ticket, but could submit enough info to get fixed

After the last update, my app is not working at all. I can’t login or even record. Everything is grayed out and I keep getting Network Request Timeout. I’ve followed all of the troubleshooting instructions.

Ever since the update to 4.0 I have had nothing but problems. Won’t even let me login anymore.

The app was good before update today i couldn’t even use the device to record, stating network request timeout, no function at all. At this point app not working.

App continues to give Network Request Timeout error. Device is totally unusable at this point. Hopefully a new update is released soon.

My chameleon has essentially become a brick. Can’t log into the app. Network error keeps popping up. App is not responding and you can’t use the chameleon without the app.

When you spend as much $ on a camera assist device, not even a camera, all you expect is that it works. Network has been down all day with no updates or social media explaining the resolution. You can’t even have the assist work without the network. So it’s just a brick now. Do not waste your money and look at one of the many other options. This is junk, Do Not Buy

Just get a "network timed out error" every time I open the app. Cannot watch my son's game. Disappointing. This should be fixed asap if you want people to continue to utilize this app- I see many have the same complaint.

The latest update is broken. Not only is the UI terrible now I keep getting network issues that I can’t even log off to try to log back on. Mirroring doesn’t work and neither does live streaming. Even the remote has issues with the new update. If you have an older OS, keep it. Do not update to newer OS. This is becoming a waste of $600 I spent on this for the chameleon, tri pod and umbrella. For now DO NOT BUY.

I’ve been over 2 hours trying to set it up and the app doesn’t log on and no where to find customer service

We got this thing recently and there’s nothing but problems with it. It glitches and lags like crazy. Camera sometimes gets mixed up when tracking the play. The app itself is terribly designed. It barely loads, it keeps saying “network request timeout” and my wifi and cellular data is not the problem. Whatever update they did recently seems like it broke the system. Truly disappointing. If I knew of another AI tracking system I would jump ship in a heartbeat.

Worked great previously, but now it won’t kick into the recording mode, and continuously claims a “network timeout.” Can’t tell if it’s broken or an intentional change. I used to record on a second phone not connected to a cell provider… maybe they changed it now? Not sure, but wouldn’t recommend at this point.

This is the only way I can figure out how to contact you guys the latest firmware update that was pushed to the Xbot Go chameleon is completely broken. The live streaming feature the players are twitching around all over the field no matter what Internet service. I’m on whether it’s Wi-Fi or my phone service and the controller will randomly just disconnect and not reconnect to the Xbot. Please push a new firmware update. Otherwise, before this, the Xbot was really great.

I can not log into the app. It asks for a verification code and when I request one says it was sent. I never received the code. I tried several different emails as well. It doesn’t give me the option to enter my password only a code.

Can’t even sign in with the recent update. Keeps asking to send a code to my email that hasn’t ever showed up. Missed my kids entire game trying to figure out how to sign in… which never happened.

Since doing an update in Sep’2025, it no longer works with the gimbal. Please fix asap!!

Please put more developments into American football mode. Pan isn't fast enough for big plays and zoom is insufficient when unit is set up at midfiels and the play is inside the 30yd line. New update loses remote connection very easily as well.

Terrible product the actual product records very slow don’t waste your money

I was really loving the camera and the app but am really disappointed in the new mirror requirement for adding the score. I wish I could go backwards a version.

Live streaming stopped working after updating to latest version. Please fix it.

Not following losing activity on the field

Doesn’t track lacrosse well misses most things and this is on the smaller field. Tried to ask questions about calibration but there is no help just AI generated responses about where to set up the chameleon. It is supposed to track the ball but it cannot. Even if you turn the base it’s on manually to point at the ball it will turn itself away from it.

Not pleased with this app not working

Won’t stay connected to my phone via Bluetooth. When is connected, no tracking happens.

Poor tracking of hockey - tends to get confused and start to track the referee or anything moving - crowd, referee, players changing lines - could be better if it was trained to track the puck

Cannot upload videos after the update and no timeline to fix it

I have had this for almost 2 years, having jumped on it the moment it became available. At first, you can understand the pains of a new product. Over the years, the user community has given them feedback and they’ve done little to address them other than to release a new product (chameleon) which still doesn’t address everything. 1. Resolution is at 1080p 30fps. They won’t get it to 4K and/or 60fps which makes the footage very blurry 2. There is no way to see what you’re recording unless you use live streaming. It would be better to have another phone and connect to the same wifi and see what it’s recording 3. Tracking is way off and jumps from player to player who are very far apart 4. They changed the subtle watermark logo to be bigger and intrusive 5. The scoreboard is a neat idea but you have to update if instantaneous, can’t rewind back. The whole idea of the gimbal is so you don’t have to worry and enjoy the game 6. It misses up to 20% of the action. It doesn’t recognize the field boundaries and is often distracted by things outside such as the next team coming into the facility or even parents sitting on the sidelines. Often I’m using my watch to move the camera back to the action and have to constantly keep an eye on it rather than enjoying the game. I’ve switched to another solution using security cameras and just do post edits. It’s more time consuming but I get to enjoy the live game which was why I got this.

The thing has a mind of its own and will not focus on the action much of the time. Customer support is basically nonexistent.

The unit that I purchased never worked from the time I took it out of the box. Specifically, it never tracked the action (Basketball). In addition, it constantly disconnects from Bluetooth, resulting in a bright blinking light that detracts players in the court. Instead of simply returning it for a refund, I made the mistake of working with tech-support. I uploaded many files, followed all of their requests and instructions to help them troubleshoot and improve the solution and device. I spent many hours working with them, all to the benefit of their company, but getting nothing in return. I finally said that I was going to return the unit, and support told me that they could handle the whole return and exchange on their end. I also believed that, and that was also a mistake. After several weeks of being promised, the new unit, I have not received any updates. Product functionality and support have been a major disappointment. I know this product works for a lot of people, but not for me, and they are not doing a good job of standing behind their product. I hope others have better luck than I did.

Just opened it and turned on. It won’t connect to my phone or show a Bluetooth signal. I tired all options. Will prob return the unit.

The tracking is trash. Need to improve a lot

Even after updates, during usage at games, the XBot Go starts off perfectly but once paused during a timeout or stopped to move to another game… It begins to Glitch and move when and wherever it wants screwing up the recording.

I have downloaded the latest version but don’t see options to unlock the recent features I have been trying to get support no response yet

I have owned and used the XbotGo ball for mainly JrHS BB games. It has been less than desirable with its tracking. It frequently gets lost. The live streaming is not good at all. On a 14pro, on WiFi, will only support 720. YouTube and Facebook integration is not very user friendly. YouTube especially is not user friendly. Frequently the LIVE video is NOT at 720 quality on either platform. The quality on recording without Live stream is fine. It’s only Live Stream that is not good. If this gets resolved or enhanced the gimbal and app have TONS of potential.

I was a proponent of the device/app as I used it for a few AAU 11u basketball games. But this weekend the device just got stuck on a few staring on a single location and did not follow the game flow like it should have. I have updated to 3.0 and hope this is improved. I was hesitant to returning the device after this weekend. :(.

I’m on version 2.4.4 build 93. The device disconnects from the phone. This seems to be a common issue with previous versions of the app. It’s really annoying that I have to remove the device from my Bluetooth and add it again for it to work. Please fix this.

I updated my app before my daughters game and it kept losing track of the game and just maintaining focus on one end of the field. It worked much better before the update. I had to keep re-adjusting it from my watch since the two remotes you sent me don’t work either.

The app won’t even load it opens and crashes right away I can’t even try to use it. Looks like I need to buy a more expensive option that will work.

I was using this for soccer. It loses the ball quite a bit, but gets it right sometimes.

The gimbal and this app is good only for basketball pickup games. If you use this on an official basketball game with referee, you will get disappointed as the gimbal will capture the referee’s motion. You are lucky if you will get 80% of the game footage. Most of my recordings captures 60%. It has promises. Maybe it will get better in the future.

I just tried connecting my new blink focos and there’s no option to allow access to the camera in the app system settings. I’ve reached out to customer support. I’ll update this review if the issue gets resolved.

Trying to install the app and connect camera and it won’t get past giving camera access. It’s stuck in a non ending loop

I attempted to use the for full field soccer tournament games this weekend. Not a single game completed filming either due to dropped Bluetooth connections to the gimbal or when it had connection it started tracking the game on the field behind ours. Very frustrating.
