Every Emerald I take a picture of, it identifies as aquamarine….

I seen the ad and was excited to start a new hobby with my daughter, going to our creek and hunting for cool rocks. I don’t think there is a word for how disappointed I was to find such a small limit. Should be more upfront about what you get for free. I feel the reviews and such are so misleading.

This is for beginners possibly. Out of all the photos I asked for it to identify, it guessed ALL of them WRONG.

I was trying to identify some of my rocks but knew most but the app kept identifying as same thing! Sorry deleted!

When I shine a stone that has a rainbow shine, it either THINKS it’s blue or purple when it’s actually red, orange, yellow, and green too

You get 2 free identifications before you hit a paywall. Another subscription to try and take your money!

I subscribed to the app for one year. I canceled my subscription because I got tired of it getting the identification wrong. I tested this app on rocks that I knew exactly what they were. Most of the time it is incorrect. Again, you’re kidding, right? You actually want me to renew a subscription to an app that never works? You are out of their stinking minds!

not free. Credit card trap I was expecting advertisement per stone. But literally it's seven days and we got your credit card and you forget to cancel well we'll just keep billing you and trust us we're a random little we would never steal your credit cards or sell your information

Doesn’t really work, don’t use for gems or jewelry the numbers and ID are all wrong

The app is OK but it could be better because I can only identify three rocks or else it makes me have to get the free trial to don’t want to so I had to delete the game and I get it back again I can’t do anything because I don’t wanna get the free trial I wish I could identify more rocks but I can’t because I don’t have the free trial and I don’t spend money on games. Please fix it.

I cannot definitely rely on the result done by from this site. Will definitely discontinue my membership.

App could not identify nakauriite because it wasn't in its database... too expensive to not have every rock.

I will scan the same rock, in the same conditions, from the same angle 3 times and it will tell me it’s a different rock every time. My daughter has the app on her phone as well and she will scan the same rock I did and also get a different result. 🤦‍♀️ With these types of results I feel like I could just use google image search for free. I already purchased the year subscription but will not purchase it again!

The app charged me even if I canceled before the 7days of testing😡😣😖now I can’t pay those 43 $ and there is no where on the app that I can call nor write for help

It identify rocks by their color. I took the jade photo it said it is emerald, it identify amazonite as turquoise. These are basic things and this app is bad even at this. I wouldn’t trust.

Couldn’t even recognize citrine

Rock identifier is a games that kinda tries to really get you to pay money because if you do not pay you only get a few (like two i think) scans a day but if you pay you unlimited now i am not going to lie the scans are pretty cool though because they give what they mainly think it is and other possibilities (three more) and what you think and this is why i give it two stars

I have tried to identify multiple types of gemstones and it doesn’t know. Then I tried to figure out how to cancel and I don’t see any way to contact them to cancel. They changed my account again.

It purposely sets it up to make you think you need to pay for it. App mis-identified constantly. They want encouragement? How bout “Do better, Be better!”.

Doesn’t know red from purple or real from fake. Would like my money back.

I barely get anything on this app and I don’t have the money for premium. Some people really love rocks and either don’t have a lot of money or don’t have a job. So the premium thing is stupid, all the features should be available to everyone. Not just to people with more money.

Take 3 pix of one rock from different angles and you will get 3 different decisions on what it is.

I been using this app for now two months I even paid the 39.99 for the month, honestly not worth it at first I thought I was helping me but its only really good at identifying polished stones, as when presented with raw stones it provides different types of mineral or stone as I have taken multiple pictures of the same minerals/stones with most of them having different results in every picture! Not good app need improvement and more mineral/stones information.

Started receiving spam calls after this app. And also had a fraudulent charge on my card 4 days later.

makes you watch a long, poorly written intro only to reveal you need to pay for the app through a subscription service. Like girl just tell me ahead of time.

Please don’t waste your money this app was 100% wrong 100% of the time and I can’t even get my money back!

I went on the app super excited and then I took a picture of two rocks and then I couldn’t take a picture of anymore cause I had to get the subscription and I deleted it right afterwards, I do not recommend if you do not want to pay money.

Not accurate at all, just based on pictures, telling me a cubic zirconia on 3 different attempts at the same stone is a sapphire, diamond and an emerald

This app sounds great in theory, but is actually really terrible. It has misidentified stones as basic as rose quartz and amethyst. Please do not waste your money on this app.

I don’t like that you have to pay. I thought this would be a great app that I could use to identify rocks but no. I have to pay and I only get 2 photos a day if I don’t get premium.

It says I don’t have WiFi I have 3 bars and cellphone tower internet so it’s a bug in the game or my phone is broken pls fix this I was looking forward to trying the app oh btw I put it as 5 stars so people could see but also cuz I think the app would have been fun if it would have loaded

Excellent App!

This app is about 85% accurate there is a metal detector that works, an identify area for rocks, and an area for the price of the rocks. The only really bad part is you only can either scan 2 times and then you will have to wait a day to scan 2 more times. Or you can buy “ unlimited IDs”

I found a valuable rock it worth $2 to $15 dollars you should buy it and then look for a valuable rock

It’s good and honestly recommend for beginners but lighting is a big problem for me and sometimes it turns a green aventurine into a black agate because it mistakes the two from the lighting I feel like maybe you can fix this by making it a little more texture rather than color observant or maybe I have to use both of my daily things because of a mistake it made so maybe make a thing where we can get our daily searches back so we can do two rocks rather than 1 a day

My favorite app. Look for the small cancel button in right hand corner, then use the camera button all for free. Check out the real vs fake feature! Catch them phony fakers. Lots of dyed fake turquoise out there, resin crackle quartz, and plastic Ethiopian opal.

I work in archaeology and biology field surveys throughout the SW. and bit of a rock hound by nature. This thing is accurate about 90% of the time and has no real competitor. Is it perfect? No. But trying to ID rocks in the field is always tough. It’s why there’s always at least three choices. It’s great for semi precious stuff like turquoise, topaz, fire agate, peridot, azurite and fossils. It’s the best option you’ll find.

This app is just a joy to work with. As I find my way through the gravel all over my property in MI, right in the middle of the mitten! Thanks!

So I got the app and it started out great but when I only did two rocks it told me I have to wait until tomorrow to do two other more rocks and if I ding want to i have to pay so four stars only because I wanted to do more then two rocks 😡

Love it I have numerous that I have collected over the years that I now know what they are. I am still collecting.

I think I like the app but it has limits and they don’t seem to be getting past them very much.

its a great app but i js wish you didnt have to pay for more than like two scans a day but overall no complaints :)

To start this review off, I’m just gonna say it’s amazing, it works really well! One thing I hope could improve is the amount of pictures you take when your not signed up, it limits curiosity for me and some other people that have it, if it could be maybe at least 5 at minimum that would be great!

Such a fun app! I have lots of jewelry, some with genuine stones and some with fake. Rock Identifier has gotten every stone correct except for one. It pegged a lab created diamond as genuine!

I hate how I can only do 2 pictures a day and I have a herkimer diamond which ig is a clear quartz idk anymore

I like this app so I can learn about rocks cause me and my sibs are totally into rocks and I want to what rock the are but why do I need to pay $40 a year just not scan 2 rocks why just why and then the 1 month one is $2 does that make sense. good bye for now

Somtimes apps could lie was I lied to no however I used google as well and I have a book of gemstones so it helps me with research also no offense which I’m genuine about it giving five stars seems like I’m not quite honest with the review I would make you have to pay Ngl I prefer to wright down on paper and keep a record book for it so yeah I’ll use the app still
