Not worth the money ! Do Not recommend.

It’s sounds very ridiculous, they offer a free trial but you can use all the tools, once you signed up, they give you just 1 Floor plan, also you can’t have access to the measurements, so my question is, how can you properly make a good idea if you can use your 7 BS days trial, also $33 per user at month ? I don’t mind but this app is very limited, I canceling my free trial now, 5 mins after I signed up, it’s all what you need to find out that doesn’t work

$400 a year is insane pricing. Use a different app don’t support this company

I signed up for the trial, thought I had cancelled, and was suddenly charged over $420 without any heads up. Also the charge didn’t show up on my apple subscription page like other purchases. Currently waiting to see if the company will refund the amount.

Scanning a ceiling fan blade to make a 3d print. Couldn’t handle the thin sides, missed the attachment holes, imported it into a cad program and it was the wrong size by far, no matter if I chose mm or inches as import dimension units. Also, had to subscribe to get a downloadable file. Thankfully I was able to cancel the subscription for this terrible product.

The interface is confusing like it’s trying to do too many things at the once and sucking at them all. Either I’m not smart enough to use it or…. Whatever.

If you’re trying Polycam with the free trial just make sure you cancel it before it ends. Seriously double check it because this still haunts me to this day. I got curious about the app and started the free trial. I used the app for maybe not even 10 minutes and realized it just wasnt for me. I thought I canceled it. Maybe I didnt. Maybe it didnt go through. I honestly still dont know. A week later I got charged for the yearly subscription. I immediately went to Apple and canceled the subscription and requested a refund. Denied. Tried again. Denied again. Appealed it. Denied again. Then I saw online people saying you could maybe email Tim Cook directly for stuff like this so I emailed him like 5 times. Never got a response. Never got a refund. To this day it still bothers me. I still think about that money and how useful it would be right now. Im literally sitting here at 2am still thinking about it while writing this review. So yeah just make sure if you do the free trial you actually cancel it and make sure it’s gone because you won’t be able to get it back 💔

The camera app refuses to focus on the tooling insert. When I pull far enough away for a focus, it creates a big blob. Not useful for precision tooling.

This app is cool except I need it to give me the floor plan option I've tryed to get this for days. The support pages are confusing and I've already spent $400 on this app

It consistently crashes in the middle of scans or looses where it’s at and you have to start over.

I can’t even set up to use it keeps asking for info but unable to hit enter after input..

Nothing will be accurate just go take measurements and charge your client this is a JOKE and they still charged me $400 after I canceled my free trial with in the same day of trying it out since it DOESN’T WORK!

It was not my intention, but I accidentally let the trial expire — my mistake. I figured I had a year to really learn the software and see if it fit my workflow. Unfortunately, it seems like every time I scan something, the functionality I actually need is locked behind yet another upgrade tier or the Business subscription. For a $160 purchase, that was extremely disappointing. The marketing and real-world usability did not line up for me, especially for outdoor/property scanning. My Backyard Became Abstract Art My advice: research carefully before subscribing and compare alternatives first.

They make it giant headache to sign up for the free trial requiring payment information. Then a second sign up if you want to try the business version with payment information again. If you want people to try it just let them create an account and move on.

I downloaded and tested Polycam, thinking the free trial made it risk free. It’s not. Even after canceling within the 7-day period, my credit card was billed for over $400! Even if the app met my needs, I wouldn’t be able to use it because Apple confirms that my subscription is canceled and therefore unavailable for use.

What I need now asked me aside my monthly subscription a yearly subscription to Biz TERRIBLE

After 21 emails back and forth with support, they gave up before I did. They cut my subscription short and the only option went from paying $100 annually to $400 annually. Folks, there are much better and much more affordable options out there. I DO NOT SUGGEST PURCHASING THIS APP

The 7 day trial is not real!! They will charge your account $150!!! I will never recommend this app to anyone.

With every update, this app gets worse. I use for work and have business account, and the app has more and more glitches that stop me from doing my job. Currently, the app constantly freezes, I have to close or back out of scans, and Syncing has become very difficult. Stop breaking the app

This app initially offered nearly the full program for free as a trial period. Followed by a reasonably priced subscription. However, recently, I’ve discovered that my subscription no longer works, which was fine as I was willing to pay a bit more to continue using the app. Once I purchased that subscription I attempted to open previously, scanned items to pull the measurements from it only to find that I needed to pay more to access those scans with the detailed measurements. This app is an absolute scam and does not provide near the professional quality of the price It’s demanding. This app attempts to be like a professional LIDAR system used by contractors. It falls well short of that goal, but still clings to the high price point.

Why would I need to create an account if I don’t want any cloudsaving or stuff like that. Just let me do the stuff locally and if I need the cloud then say I have to create an account for that feature

I’ve been a paying member for a couple of years and something has happened in the last 12 months or so that has made polycam useless. Most of my scans are stopped and distorted by the app at a point in which I cannot recover and simply have to start over. The days of the phenomenal app that was well worth their yearly fee are long gone, even capturing a small 1000sf place is too much for the app. Oh, and I’ve tried it on my iPhone and iPad and same issues

I signed up for the 7-day free trial, tested the app and found that it didn't work to my standards so I canceled the same day. I checked my account only to find out they charged me! I filed for a refund and was denied and I appealed the decision and was denied again! This is unacceptable!

I had tried to scan the first floor of the house, and it froze up on literally the last room after 20min or work. Now the app won’t launch at all. Tried iPad, and got half of that floor done. But now realizing it won’t even give you dimensions in “basic $129” plan. Need pro!! What a ripoff

If you choose the “Get 7 days free trial” option, Apple will immediately charge you $149.99 and refuse to refund it. I’m now out money I did not agree to pay. Polycam’s customer service said they can’t refund it either. Do not trust this app.

I click record and it just brings me back to the library. Unable to find help either. Disappointing.

I tested this app about a year ago and re-downloaded it today to see if any new features had been added. I was immediately added to the “free trial” without the app asking for approval (or if it was, it was well-hidden - a dark pattern that is even more nefarious). This would have cost me $200 if I didn’t cancel within a week. The only way I noticed is a nondescript, average looking Apple email notifying me in abnormally small font that whispered “you accepted the offer for one free week.” No, I didn’t. I’ve been an iPhone user since day 1 and I’ve never seen such scammy behavior. Be careful and read the fine print and watch your emails.

Every time I click capture it goes right back to the create capture screen. App does not work and getting support was unhelpful

Look these things are never as good as they look in the videos but a simple room with the one sided sloped wall was beyond it’s capabilities so it might be good for objects, but I don’t think you can use it for capturing real floorplans at least not in 3-D

All of the good reviews of this app are old. I just paid $150 just to find that simple features like a floor plan and behind a $450 paywall. Total scam!

Trying to cancel every time I do it won’t finish loading and crashes, canceled my credit card for this trash

As a contractor, I purchased this expecting to use measurements from scans. After paying $149.99 and processing multiple scans, I found out measurement tools are locked behind an additional paywall. That makes the app practically useless for real-world use unless you keep paying more. This should be clearly disclosed upfront. Very disappointing.

i’m using the iphone 17 pro and it crashes each time i try to start a scan

Apps should be required to post the price prior to download. $30/month?!

Basic features you’d expect from any app that makes floor plans, like labeling rooms with names, are locked behind a subscription that can run up to $400/year. That alone is a red flag, but the problems don’t stop there. The iPad app is poorly optimized and doesn’t fit the screen properly. Trying to manage your subscription within the app will crash it outright, forcing you to go online instead…even then the website may freeze on you anyway. Most critically: I cancelled during the free trial and was charged $400 regardless. A company that can’t get billing right (or doesn’t care to) is not one worth trusting with your money. Look elsewhere.

Used to use this all the time for multiple years and bought 2 years of Polycam pro, but it was only $80 or so on student discount. Even without pro you used to be able to scan at least, now you can do nothing without pro and it costs more than 200 a year?? Not worth it and scummy business model slowly taking away features. Good luck staying afloat making these business decisions Polycam you used to be great

They tricked me into setting up 2 very expensive accounts, neither of which I can cancel or get refunded for. These guys are CROOKS and THIEVES with subpar software.

This is an amazing piece to add to your arsenal to do scans. I personally don’t recommend this app to anyone because EVERYTHING is behind paywall. If this company made something like monthly fee for cloud storage and tool for free, I can recommend this to students trying to get into this space. At this point in time if you’re trying to use this for personal projects or as a student, look somewhere else.

So long as you only want to scan one room, it seems to work fine. If you are attempting to scan an entire level of a house the app crashes. I tried about three or four times and every time it crashed. I then switched over to floor plan mode but again couldn’t even get the app to scan an entire floor. The app is complete garbage. Don’t waste your money.

I understand the need for revenue and respect paying off the work put into development. But this is a click bait for subscription not even able to test features without paying. Layer your offer. A waste of my time downloading and then uninstalling it

I downloaded this trial they auto charged my card. Cancelled immediately and have made several attempts that have been denied for a refund. I have spent over $160 for nothing as to get basic functionality like even exporting to pdf you need to buy an even more expensive business plan

App is very glitchy. Does not work.

Failed to scan a simple hallway with the newest iPhone. Couldn’t walk more than 30 feet without it losing continuity.

Cannot recognize doorways on floor plan mode, crashes before I can finish a 750sqft space. Useless… and they want $150/yr subscription 🫠

I don’t find the measuring function worthwhile at all even in the Pro model. Not easy to use, especially to fix the endpoints in the desired location. YMMV.

I paid nearly $50 for Polycam, believing I would be able to use it for measurement purposes. Only after completing the purchase did I discover that the core functionality I needed requires an additional $400 payment. This was absolutely not made clear beforehand. This is not transparent pricing — it feels deliberately misleading. Charging customers first and then locking essential features behind an unexpected $400 paywall is unacceptable. The initial $50 purchase is practically useless without paying hundreds more. On top of that, they refuse to issue a refund. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Be extremely careful before buying — the real cost is far higher than what they advertise upfront.

I purchased this subscription with the hopes that it would be phonominal and at first I thought it was. However, turns out this app is slow, clunky and I was never able to scan a large complex room, much less building, successfully. Worst part is that my main reason for signing up was to be able to make floor plans with dimensions which Polycam took away from my tier of subscription after I had already paid $100 for the year. Their customer service is not great either and once you ask for a refund they suddenly cannot find your account anymore. I would shy away from this company all together…

The new update sucks! Now it appears nothing works as it did!

App has potential but the whole pay for this and pay for that is BS . Just charge us $$79 - $99 dollars for a life time subscription with everything included , stop with all this nonsense of paying for features - terrible idea and it just made me uninstall and not recommend. The world wants to own not rent.

Free app? No. It’s just a Free trial. This is NOT a free app as I thought. Beware. You only find out you must pay after you jump thru hoops signing up.

Polycam limits frame data to six megapixels and gives you now exposure to Photos settings for object capture photogrammetry mode. This means if you use Polycam to capture an image sequence for a model reconstruction, you have no choice but to throw out 75% of the data from your phone sensor. Any app that charges a premium, but doesn’t allow you to actually set a quality and forces you to upload and process low resolution images is not a professional tool. it’s an incredibly easy to use and accessible platform. Perfect for beginners or hobbies but the limitations outweigh the convenience factor for any serious application applications.

I paid for the pro plan for 2 months at $26, because I needed floor plan measurements. The App did a great job and $26 felt like a great price, until they REMOVED the feature while STILL LABELING IT AS PRO. I contacted support questioning why I couldn't access the floor plan feature, since I had already paid for it, and was met with "we're sorry this is now an enterprise feature", and a closed support ticket without refund or resolution.

Has turned into nothing but paywalls!! I pay just to take captures, to do anything else I have to pay more, to measure paywall 2, and then paywall 3 in order to see floor plans or square footage or anything else useful. Another developer gone money hungry and greedy.

There is no 7day free trial! The app advertises a 7-day free trial - cancel at any time until 1 day before trial ends. I downloaded the app hoping to use it to export a scanned room’s measurements easily. The feature did not work properly. I immediately cancelled. The app still charged me $25.99!!!! It’s a SCAM

Polycam uses deceitful practices to encourage additional trials during account creation and initial usage of their app. They have a no refund policy, even when contacted the same day of being charged. 0/10 would not recommend trying. The whole reason I was trying their app out was to do a space scan of my house and Polycam utterly failed with making anything useful. The final scan had rooms twisted and sliding into other rooms. It looked like a bunch of AI slop.

I have had Polycam for nearly a year and recently they changed their software tiers in order to extract as much money as possible out of everyone! They have stated that people like myself who were already subscribed would be grandfathered in with the old plan details, but that was total BS as they have turned all standards features, like interior wall dimensions, into “premium” offerings that will cost you an additional $250 PER YEAR!! It is completely ridiculous and companies like this will suffer the backlash from people who just are done with their stupid games! AVOID THIS SOFTWARE!!

Don’t bother wasting your money on this unless you wanna buy the “BIZ” subscription. They give you like a glimpse of every feature that would be useful and then say “sorry unless you upgrade to the next tier of payment you can’t use this”, so it’s pretty useless for the most part unless you want to do the absolute basics which is cool for about 20 minutes until you realize that’s all you can do.

Downloaded and started to use the app. It scanned fine but then you find out you cannot do anything without the UPGRADE in your face. So, I upgraded with the special and it said that worked but unlocked nothing in the app. Then I upgraded again to Pro, they took the money but again, unlocked nothing in the app. I attempted to contact their customer support but their form doesn’t work. When I finally tricked it to get it to submit, I got a kickback email from zendesk saying they cannot process it. What a disaster of an APP! I’d give it 0 stars if possible. I want my money back!

I really wanted to like this app, but the scans are mediocre at best. They look nothing like the examples advertised and struggled with accuracy and texture quality. After realizing it wasn’t going to work for my needs, I canceled and reached out right away for a refund. Their response was basically: “We don’t do refunds under any circumstances.” Terrible customer support and a completely rigid refund policy. Just be aware before you pay — once they have your money, that’s it. Definitely not worth the price for what you get.

I’m so glad I ignored the promotion and tried free trial first. I’m cancelling. Even paying quite a bit (basic subscription) they lock anything useful. Not very user friendly. Interface is garbage. They try and hook you but it just doesn’t work. Very disappointed would never recommend

I tried this app on some smaller parts about the size of my hand. It does produce a 3-D model scan, but in my experience, the surface profile was real rough and bumpy when the part surface was not. Also, I found that the dimensional scaling was very coarse. I could not adjust anything finer than 1 inch increments. Furthermore, I exceeded the free trial. And they automatically charged me the annual subscription fee not a monthly fee, which I think is BS. Reached out to their customer service and they’ve promptly ignored me. Wouldn’t recommend this program for anybody trying to get a decent product. Seek elsewhere.

Used this app for 2 years; both as a paid user and as a free user. It used to be fantastic; I could cover every inch of a house or building to be able to reference it later and also accurately measure it. Now? It barely forms a decent 3D scan, and they’ve required serious increases in the subscription price that aren’t worth the benefits. Shame; you get less for more.

Взял для теста свой iPhone 12 Pro Max и iPhone 16 pro max, затестил сканеры с рук, комнаты, предметы. Как оказалось что iPhone 12 Pro Max на старой версии приложения. Сделал более детализированные текстуры и в целом картинка не разлетелась, как на iPhone 16. Вывод новое поколение смартфона логически должно лучше делать lidar сканирование, единственное что различало два устройства это старая и новая версия Polycam , видимо нужно платить от 3 тыс. Рублей в месяц, чтобы картина была лучше, или хотя бы в ряд старой версии приложения, разочарован …

I purchased the app after the trial as everything seemed to work and the finished results are great. However everything promised with “upgrading” to a yearly $120/ yr subscription is now locked behind a second $400 business subscription. Complete bait and switch. Great product but dishonest business practices.

One star because I can’t give it zero. Any app that won’t allow you to even get to the main interface without REQUIRING you tell it what your using the app for is an app that get trashed. Polycam surely “wants” to know whether you’re using it for Work of Personal. But they don’t have a need to know. Privacy first people. Literally couldn’t get beyond that prompt without selecting one or the other. So I went with another, less nosy, application.
