I haven’t been able to get on this app for 8 days because every time I open it it tells me there is a network error. Can’t access coins or see next chapters. Keeps telling me to try again. Please fix this problem. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it. Now I lost my entire library and still says network error. What the hell

Asks for you to buy more credits every few pages after you get hooked at the beginning. Dont buy subscription - doesn’t unlock anything. Dont buy short story subscription — nothing worth reading. Dont use this app! The book they sell you on doesn’t actually have an ending!

Yes the stories are great. The writers have talent. BUT you spend more time watching ads than reading. On top of that, the one book that got me interested in the ap, just stopped, no ending just no more chapters. So frustrating. To make it even worse, you watch the same long ads over and over again. I have deleted the app and will NEVER use it again!

Download this app and you think you’ll get to read the entire book…but every few chapters they want more money. I’ve already spent $20 on one book… Don’t fall for it!!

This app is definitely not for someone who likes to read. You either have to only read a couple chapters a day, watch a lot of commercials, or spend a lot of money on coins. And then you get to the end of a book to find out it’s to be continued!!!

I started reading a book on chapter 21 or so and it pops up for me to connect with facebook. Drops me back to chapter 5 and I have to read it again and watch more ads

These are good, well-written stories, with some glitches here and there, but the costs are WAY OVERPRICED! I got charged $24.99 for one story!!! And the usual price per story is $14.99!

While I love their short stories, the subscription cost is ridiculous. $19.99 a week is crazy. You can’t even unlock a story with coins or ads. I’m deleting this app.

The stories themselves aren’t bad, it’s just that every time you get a few chapters in it keeps shoving a paid subscription in your face and there’s no other way to bypass it. I’m also pretty sure that they post some of the stories on tiktok, and incomplete at that to bait people into downloading.

As long as you don’t mind spending money on a monthly premium subscription, then you can get full access. This isn’t just “in-app purchases” they REQUIRE MONEY for many of the short stories and if you do not pay, there is no way to finish them. No points, no ads, no referrals. Don’t waste your time, I know it looks interesting but go on A03 and you will get much better fanfics that are FREE! Reading should be FREE! Literacy rates are already low enough, I guess they only want rich people to read. Good luck

Extremely upset I paid for 200 coins and 600 bonus. I also invited a friend, so I got over 100 coins or bonus from them and I was collecting from the daily check-ins, from ads, surveys, and games because I enjoyed reading “Your Uncle Is My Husband Now-Back Off Ex”. I didn’t want to continue reading till I had enough to not worry about running out till I finish the story, but when I got back on there to claim my daily check-in all of my coins and bonuses were gone. I got so upset I deleted the app and when I got back on there 200 coins were returned, so I decided to use them till they run out on my story but I have to unlock the same chapters I had unlocked from watching ads.

One star is generous. But hey, gotta do them minimum just like Good Novel does the ABSOLUTE minimum in fixes and the maximum in scamming. Among the many obvious problems with the app, here’s what’s pushed me over the edge: imagine showing up for work, doing your job EXACTLY as required, and on payday you’re told, “Umm, the box isn’t checked. Our system is supposed to check a box to show you came to work and did your tasks. It’s blank. Yeah, we have lots of data on your time and work but that’s on a different spreadsheet. It’s supposed to be a checkbox on THIS spreadsheet. Yes, I know you did your work. I see it right there. But like I said, our software didn’t check the box. So rather than pay you, we’re not going to pay you. No, nothing can be done to fix it. Thanks for the unpaid labor. Ok…so, bye.” That’s what this app is. If you downloaded this app from an ad or from an introduction in another app, then know upfront your “paycheck” isn’t coming. Good Novel will do NOTHING to fix their error and will happily keep the revenue earned from the app that led you to theirs and the ads you watched while playing. Doesn’t matter that they have data showing everything you did in their app. If it requires them to actually fix something or provide customer service, they refuse. It shouldn’t be this hard. But these apps won’t listen unless we complain collectively and start affecting their revenue. So let’s all do that. Let me repeat it: This once-entertaining app with its poorly written stories and repetitive content is your time and effort being unpaid while they get your identifiers, ad revenue from you watching ads, and vig (ie, commissions) for any app-to-app introduction. And you get what? The joy of “donating” your time and battery for nothing. They won’t even give you the credit they promised when they can see in the data they collect from their own app that you earned it. I’m tired of this nonsense. Seriously considering starting a petition over this BS because it has gotten out of hand. I think I’m finally fired up enough. If I do actually make it, I’ll update my review. Anyway, bottom line is don’t ever again play ANY app by following links within another with the promise of rewards. Don’t ever again click an ad to get download an app. Don’t help Good Novel and its collaborators get paid. If you see an ad for a game you like, skip clicking the ad and just search for it in the App Store. It’s a small thing but anything we can do to reduce revenue that this app earns from your time eventually adds up (pun not intended). This app and all others that do this scam don’t honor their own offers.

This app says the books are free. Not true! I was reading a book. Had watched numerous ads per chapter - annoying but ok I get that. Then the app said I had to purchase the next chapters after I was 75% of the way thru. I immediately deleted the app out of frustration.

Make it make sense. I pay for coins, but the money that I have or the coins that I have there can’t be used for short stories. I have to pay for a subscription for the short story, even though I have coins that should pay for the short story. What’s the sense of me buying coins if I have to pay a subscription to read a short story book? This is just another way to make you spend more money because I’m gonna pay for coins for a full story but I can’t use those same coins for a short story, why?

Price keeps going up starts with a few free chapters the 12 coins then 52. It’s a big scam. I can buy hard cover books by New York Times authors for less.

They offered deal to buy credits to get more chapters but no matter which deal purchased they next time coins were needed to purchase more chapters, there was no positive balance and a new deal was needed. Apple won’t give me a refund and at this point. Good novel owes me a refund 2,395 credits or $23.95.

Trust the real reviews. I came from an AD and was disappointed. They put stories on here, charge you $19 A WEEK, for the writing of every story to decline.

Stories are actually good, just wish there wasn’t so many ads just to read one chapter. Two ads just to start and another at the end to even finish the chapter. Only allows 8 chapters if watching ads in a 23 hour period. I have no desire to pay $49.99 a month for a subscription. Super disappointed and frustrated.

Got carried away reading to find out what happened next. No clue how much it will cost me, I keep on buying coins. My bill eventually cost me x4 the price of a paperback. It will not be repeated unless this company will be honest upfront.

Got a new iPad and went to add on there. Now it refuses to work on my phone or iPad, keeps saying it’s signed in on another device but every time I try to sign out on one device it says failed, I’ve also emailed asking for help a couple of times because I have several books in my library with about twenty of them me watching four videos per book to free two chapters for the last several months and no books in my library now. And wondering if they ever fix it all the free chapters I’ve freed up so I could read multiple chapters at once will now be gone forever. And I’ve been on this app since 2021 so that’s a lot of books, chapters and videos that would irk me to lose. And this is not the one book app I have, I’m an avid reader and this app was the only one to give me any problems adding it to another device.

So I started reading a novel, bought some coins and realized that these “Novels” can potentially cost you hundreds of dollars!! I’ve spent $60 on coins and only 17% done with the book!!! It’s crazy and in my opinion NOT good value. I could buy a book from a store for $10!!!!! What a joke.

I pay for a weekly subscription but can not use it cause every time I go to read it tries to charge me I hit restore it says nothing to restore my last payment was on the 8 th but I still cannot read a book and this is the 10

I cancelled my subscription with Apple, but kept getting weekly $20 charges through the app. If you cancel, make sure to cancel the app subscription too which is deceptively hidden. Also, I don’t advise reading anything from this app because you want to get to the next chapter (which is riddled with grammar mistakes and likely written by AI). It’s much cheaper to buy a book directly from Amazon, borrow free books, etc. Each novel will probably cost you over $100

Stories are catchy but every 500 words you need to watch an ad. Then story goes on and on until you can’t see an ad and must pay. I’d rather buy a book on kindle

When I first download it I thought it was free so I was enjoying my story that I wanted to hear in a long time when I reached chapter two they seriously asked to pay for a story.

“Plump Mate” says 5’9”- 180lbs is plump which is actually very untrue and mentally abusive for those with weight issues. This is so costly for poor AI writing.

I read the preview, and I didn’t want to subscribe. I bought some coins, thinking I could just get the one chapter and that’s it. There’s no way to use the tokens, the app wants me to subscribe. There is absolutely nowhere to get customer service, or even what the coins are for or how much is needed for a chapter. Never again.

Annoying, no instructions, and ads freeze. I have a very new phone so it isn’t that.

I paid 19.95, + 9.95 and that wasn’t enough to read 1 book they wanted more. This is a scam and I can’t even find support to get my money back!

I was enjoying the books but they are not always complete due to the “author” leaving you hanging also it stopped allowing you to watch a couple of adds to continue reading which I didn’t mind so I would have to pay a subscription or spend money. Don’t get this it wasn’t a waste of time getting involved with stories and not getting to continue without paying. SMH shame on you developers!!

The stories are good but this app has highly deceptive pricing practices. Twice I selected the option to purchase $50 worth of credits only to have my credit card charged for $88 instead. BUYERS BEWARE.

Sentences repeated, plot lines jumped, stereotypical names pulled with no actual interest behind character development, fake authors, and then you have to pay to keep reading🤣 horrible.

Stories are interesting chick lit. They get you hooked but then start requiring a charge without telling how much money it costs to finish the story. So disappointing and deceptive. I’ll be deleting this app. I won’t be the sucker on the hook.

How many coins does it take to finish a book? I paid $9.99 for 1,000 coins, and I still couldn't even finish one book?!That's ridiculous!!! The story isn't even that good. It's poorly edited and keeps repeating the same content over and over. Don't buy it. It's not worth the money.

This app was using background data, to keep it pinned to the top of my screen, even though I closed every app that I had open. I don’t trust it, and don’t know what else it was doing in the background, without my permission or knowledge.

They will literally still charge your account even after you cancel with them. I sent a bunch of emails and messages and everything and still have no results I had to switch my credit card and everything too so please do not buy or subscribe from this application. Their main purpose is to steal your money and make a profit out of raggedy apps like this. This should be illegal!!!

Paid for a weekly subscription that was never received but the money sure was taken by the app. Your app clearly states the subscription will be in effect within 24 hours after purchase, which makes no sense if you pay for it you should receive it immediately but still over 24 hours later and I’ve yet to receive what was purchased.

I downloaded GoodNovel because I was interested in a story that was advertised; turns out it was one of the few PG-13 stories on the site. I downloaded the app because it was advertised that you could play games to earn coins. But when I went to download games it said that option was no longer available. So, I thought okay, I’ll spend around $20-25, the price of an actual book, only to make it 30% of the way through the story when my coins ran out. I can either log in every day to claim 20 coins (which would take me 1 to 1-1/2 years to complete the book for free) or I can pay over $100 for A BOOK. It’s a shame because it was a good story. Also, I understand people like to read smutty books, but for those people that don’t please have filters available so we aren’t bombarded or have them randomly appear in the library.

I downloaded this app today and am already regretting it. I just wanted to finish some short stories I saw advertised on social media, but this irritating app keeps adding all kinds of stupid stories and porn stories that I have NOT read, am NOT interested in, and have NEVER viewed or added to my recommend list. If there’s not enough options to “recommend” non-porn stories, then just let people know from the off that this is a porn novel app. I have ZERO interest in the “daddy” sex stories, orgy harem plots, or the like that keep popping into my supposedly viewed list of stories or the recommendation section. Deleting them from my homepage and “viewed” list just brings them right back like a cockroach. Not worth my time, energy, or money. 👎🏼👎🏼

Chapters are roughly 4 pages. Paid $5 to read the book and I didn’t get through 5 chapters before it wanted me to pay again. With multiple misspellings, and the cost, I had to delete the app. Kindle books are $5 and I get the whole book. Ripoff.

No great book can make up for having to spend what would amount to half a grocery bill to read a single book. I love reading but no true Author needs to bleed their readers dry and make $50-150 from 1 book ?! Absolutely crazy. Hope this company has fun “maximizing profits”.

this app does nothing but waste my money. I had 1500 coins and signed in to be reset to 0, so I bought 500. What did I even buy the coins for? It won't even let me use them, instead I have to purchase a subscription which I don't want to buy, hence why I got the stupid coins, the stories aren't that worth it either. it's like those movies on tiktok at best.

Get ready to spend hundreds of dollars to buy “tokens” to read a single story. People know that you can buy books for like $10, right? Or better yet, go to a library and check them out for free.

I deleted this app due to the number of ads I had to watch in order to read the book. I couldn’t even finish the book before I deleted the app. Four minutes of reading and two minutes of ads aren’t worth it. I don’t care how much the book might interest me.

Why can’t I just save in app currency to buy stories I’m not paying for a story that I will go ai generate because yours is also ai generated

The app sucks and there’s no point in buying a subscription. All the writing is either AI or written by the exact same person who seems to never improve. I’ve heard of people using coins you get from daily login but it never seems to give me the option. Better off just searching the story id on youtube

These books have so many chapters that are a page, that’s not a chapter! I have already SPENT $99.99 USD & there is no end in sight! This appears to be a scam! Stories are good but to finish 1 book it seems that it will cost $200 USD??? I am contacting Apple today about this scam app!

I love that it has a large amount of stories the one thing that i guess i dont like is that each episode is 100 points the rewards give sooo little points like 1 point per video 10 or 20 per daily log in so it would take days to save up tonwatch an episode or two unless you pay and lets be honest not everyone can pay a weekly subscription on here i watch Reels alot but other apps give you 10-20 free videos a day to watch a ad and give more points to where u have the opportunity to watch more of the show and not wait days just to see one episode or two because your reward points are so low and your cost per episode is higher other then that love the variety

Scam of an app! One book will cost over $100. Coats are incremental as you pay for chapters as you go. Content is error-ridden AI slop. Simplistic plots are dragged out over hundreds of tiny chapters, bc they charge by the chapter. Save your money for human authors.

Love the story. I hate it when they make women look weak. Who doesn’t enjoy a love and action story. Liked the sweetness that Celeste has towards Amelia. Really like that it’s a short story, hate it when it’s so long you loss interest.

I really like this app because the stories a really entertaining and well written that it will keep you glued to it because it each chapter just gets better and better. I definitely recommend this app.

I used to love this app because it would let me watch ads to unlock chapters and not be flooded with gold digging money requests and yet they quit the ads and now want $20 a day for books that will never see a true shelf worth that expense. I’m not paying $20 a day, $39 a week or $99 for a year. I would rather buy a real book off of Amazon or read on NovelFlow where they actually have free books or let you earn chapters not making you pay your rent for their satisfaction that have endless errors smh!!!! Goodbye GoodNovel and I will be warning Facebook of your fraudulent behaviors!!!!
