I DELETED THIS APP 2 YEARS AGO. FOR THE LOVE OF GOSH, STOP. SENDING. NOTIFICATIONS. TO. ME. IT. IS. SO. ANNOYING.

No where to be found. It’s a lie! This app is just news!

Sends about 60+ notifications a day. Nothing worth reading

Do not use it it has ads in it and it’s a scam

There’s some great local stories and global news. I like the widgets for brief headlines. When on the app, a majority seems to be AI videos and articles.

this app is full of ads some of which cannot be bypassed without clicking on them. Some of the ads are vicious scams including deep fake representations of celebrities reportedly endorsing health remedies that can't possibly work. Avoid this piece of junk like the plague which it is.

I get that I will see ads, but they shouldn’t cover the whole article with no way of closing said sd.

It works when it want to work. Crashes more often than you would like

Putting out more right wing stories now. Seems even the news apps can’t be impartial anymore.

I have had NewsBreak for years, but lately they have become totally biased. Left leaning badly. No true news. I have decided to delete the app

Cuts off communications with others that go against anti American propaganda.

9 out of 10 times when i click a notification the app doesn’t load and crashes. same happens on my wife’s phone. it’s hard to find the stories the notifications were about

Every time I open the app I have like a minute of ads, no need for that many advertisements there’s already ads on the news stories. Was good when the app was new too many ads now, deleting.

App was great for a long time. However, one day all of the sudden i start seeing an unnatural amount of child abuse stories show up. And the amount of this content just kelt increasing. To the point where that is just about all that mew break feed would show me. Parents starve child. Parents leave child home alone and child dies…and so on. I delete the app for a while. Got it back months later. The feed was back to normal for a while, then it started happening again. Its depressing that is what my feed ends up showing me more than not on this app :(

Absolutely demonic, animal cruelty sexual content, hate speech… and when you block someone they don’t go away… and when you report the animal abuse, sexual content, and hate speech, nothing is done about it. It’s a demonic disgusting free-for-all.

This has to be the literal worst news app on the planet. Constantly gives misleading and wrong information full of click bait.

This app has changed a lot in recent months and you’ll notice most of the happy reviews are older. I’ve tried multiple times to block contributors I don’t like, or product ads that are misleading, but that block only lasts a few days, and they’re back. I’ve gotten so tired of opening articles only to find they’re some sort of AI summary and not the actual article. I’m tired of clicking on “Watch til the end” videos that have no purpose… even if you watch to the end. Short videos posted by users that make absolutely no sense yet are still allowed. It is now full of AI created ads for products that many people would realize cannot deliver as advertised, but many people will spend their money on. This app went from a source of news, entertainment, and funny/cute videos to becoming a disappointing, low standard, ad filled waste of time, mostly created or altered by AI. NewsBreak should be ashamed to call themselves a news source at this point. Do better.

There are women that are “looking” for relationships but are scammers in disguise. Be aware of who you follow and who gives you a like. There are also women’s who post pics of themselves just to get views. Some will never answer you others are just trying to scam you! They need to clean up this app! It’s supposed to be a news app, not a dating app!!!!

This one of the most left leaning app I’ve ever used!! It’s at least 10-1 leftist written versus conservative written. When will the media realize over half the country is conservative??

Absolutely positive that this app is rogue and does not report the truth whatsoever.

So I download the app, open it, it doesn’t take me to the news. It takes me to “mature audience” videos. I removed the app.

No longer News, just trailers for advertising. Too bad, used to be great.

Very toxic app. They say what they don’t allow. There’s a lot of racism and tearing down of black women and all women. If I’m being honest on this website, they tell you what they don’t to tolerate. But they embrace it by letting people you don’t even know curse you out and talk to you crazy on this site.

You updated your app twice in the past 24 hours and I still can’t see ANY of my Likes.

The ads are getting out of hand

I click on some stories and they’re not even relevant. They’re so old teams have already gotten rid of the players or the managers the story that you’re reporting. When I click on a story, you’re talking about you wait till the very end of the report to tell who the story is about?

Worse new app. Has never worked correctly and it just absolutely blows!

Alerts me days after event. Pointless to be named NewsBreak. Should be newslate.

Too much fake news with no fact checks on stories.

because of their greed. They changed the format. You used to see who you responded with, but that is no longer visible. And now they want you to upgrade and buy a subscription to interact on posts and articles that were once open to everyone.

So yea it’s “news” but it’s like you go on facebooks shorts and take out all the stuff but the news. Then 6 articles about the same thing all spun left/right/rainbow/straight etc all obviously slanted one way or the other but ya get all the slants pretty much and you can try to block ones you know ya don’t need to see but the block doesn’t work. Comes back a day later like they don’t think ya will notice. So instead of reading news and chuckling at the ai news slop; my unblocked block gets me here. Tons of it are ai articles some seem to be written by humans. So far none seem to be written by NewsBreak themselves. However. This app’s best feature needs improvement. The Cho-mo mapper. State I live in requires who they are states like Illinois makes it list why they are on the registry. Do I need to protect myself my kids my wife or my livestock from them? It’s nice to see that they are there and what they look like, well not nice but, knowing is half the bagel. It’s data seemed pretty up to date for new registry and changes in location as a forecasted public release said who and when and where and sure enough when he moved in it showed it and when he moved out it did too. Impressive.

A little shocked that this app has 4.8 when it feels like you are in a video game just trying to evade the constant onslaught of ads randomly covering half of the screen. Deleted the app in the first day.

This is the best app ever and no I will not give you a higher rating because this app is terrible and I hate it

The ads are so intrusive the stuff you’re trying to read bounces all over the place. I’m deleting the app just too annoying

Too many updates of everything and anything

Almost every single article is behind a paywall now!! Can’t read anything! Even local news articles! Money hungry pos. You have to pay to get free information… deleting this app after having it for many years. You guys suck. And it uses AI chat bots to tell you you need to buy premium LOL

SPAM SOAM SPAM! No reason I should be getting notifications ever 5 minutes. News isn’t relevant it’s just spam. Update: I wrote this review a while ago and have since unsubscribed from their emails and notifications however I’m still receiving multiple emails everyday. I have reported the messages as spam and I STILL receive them everyday

Subscription based. Pure trash.

Crashes constantly, filled with ads and badly written stories. They allow you to “block” sites - not. They come right back into your feed. More like a horribly bad tabloid than a “news” paper. Don’t believe the 4.8 rating

The app has some issues but it’s still pretty good. Not good enough to stop searching for something better though. Two main issues are it steals the sound away from your music or calls. It’s not playing any sound until you click in a video but it steals it anyway. The other thing is it’s got a lot of bugs so it tend to crash often and you have to reopen it.

This junk app sends me notifications on topics I don’t care about that truly aren’t news. All of the headlines in the push notifications are click bait. Get a real news app. I recommend Ground News.

There is a “Turn notifications on?” bar across top of map. You cannot remove it without turning on notifications. I don’t want notifications on!!! It covers the map at the top. ANNOYING AS HELL!!! Other than that, it does what they say.

I keep clicking on to “block” a certain news source and it doesn’t block it. Even after o click block every time I see the source on the feed.

Used to be very good. Latest update went very wrong. No local news to amount to anything, full of clickbait and non essential news. Local stories are not local or foreign origin. Too bad it went wrong way.

Overuse of pop up ads trying to get you to subscribe has made the app so frustrating to use that I gave up using it.

I used to receive this in emails, but they added a pop up that could not be closed insisting that if I wanted to read the article I must first clutter my tablet with yet another unwanted app. More unnecessary junk clogging up my system. I only downloaded it to leave the review, it will be deleted.

Provides a semi-descent variety of news organizations to view in one place, but tends to be left leaning and features AI written articles with little or no acknowledgements. When you try to block certain sources from your feed, they pop up again the next day, so you are being forced fed particular sites.

Way too much inaccurate “facts”. As if the news comes from foreign sources. Quick google and you can find out if it’s real or fake.

Really? You place an important title for your audience, yet make it impossible to retrieve any information! Bye!

It used allow Me to see blocked Subscriber Content, until recently.

App and web experience is poor. But the biggest problem is the content. I now know I’m here for the headlines - no actual value. And you, for clicks. - why mislead? if you don’t have access to images or articles, don’t allude that you do - IF I read an article, information teased in the headline is so buried or not included???? - I’m a dumbdumb but you’re more dumb if you measure “success” when a person clicks a headline and searches for their dear life to find the actual content which most often is not included.

It’s way too many times and I don’t wanna see it anymore so I would like to cancel or export to stop being sick to me. I already downloaded it. I already have the website. I’m just now repeatedly watching videos about it because they’re being sick to be out.

I deleted newsbreak and still it sends messages to me all day

Horrible app that always sends you emails regardless if you chose not to receive them regardless if your settings are shut off the not receive them .

I've downloaded this app a few times. I've noticed a pattern. Every single time i download it I get slammed with SPAM calls, Spoofs, SPAM Emails and it's so bad! The hateful racist rants in the comments are wild. The political sections are even worse!! Anyway, I'm on the DO NOT CALL registry for unwanted solicitations, Spam & spoofing & these creeps definitely sell your info to whomever & those buyers pay no respect to the laws that would stop them from communicating & harassing you with fake junk fishing saying your at risk, they need my bank account info to make sure I'm not being charged improperly, CC inquiries, expiring Warranties for cars i don't even own & for your houses windows but you live in an apartment, postal services & Amazon. Most recently it's icloud services needs my payment update or I'll lose all my pictures & videos on the cloud. Just do yourself a favor & don't use this trash app. Save your life & sanity from the people who want to steal from you.

Has an option to block news sources but it doesn’t actually work. They still show up. No option to change your login from facebook to something else.

Sorry this has been driving me nuts since I installed this app, I have the app and send copies to myself and family’ goes to some dumb page that pops up that says Open World n another app. You click it and it either opens in the App Store or it opens in the regular reading app with a video or story that’s is different content then one I sent, not all the time but mostly. My sister who has the NewsBreak app, just deletes the video. I and her and others have completely deleted the Newbreak and reinstalled plus always install updates. Sorry I’m in a rehab,retired home. What should do? Thank you very much really. 🤓

Not news just ads that are scams

This was a great option to see news articles, especially local articles. Some ads, not too cumbersome. Today I open to look at a local article about health department reports, I always read these as I run a local restaurant, UPGRADE TO READ ARTICLE. Time to DELETE the app, I can use Apple News to not read articles already. Disappointing but unsurprising, another one bites the dust. If you’re a Michigander, just download Bridge Michigan!

I didn’t see they have drama

Further not happy, now I get categories I don’t want and am now required be premium to read many articles. Time start looking for another news aggregator… Not happy with changes splitting notifications, likes, replies, follows, etc., too many now each is a separate alert and comment repeating over and over. Unchecked reply notifications and still get likes flipping alerts all the time. What’s with follow? I’ve people I don’t know following me, I don’t want followers. I’m not a news publisher. Why can’t I stop this?

I keep getting pop ups the pay for premium, 90% of the time I’m looking at local news and can’t read a lot of stories without upgrading.

Video after video after video of fake content made by bots. That’s all it was, nothing news worthy. Nothing. Insane ads. Obvious, low quality, fake headline videos. Seemed to be an app created by a group or a bot so they could show their ai videos.

What started out as a decent app covering local news has degenerated with cheesy medical alerts of someone with stomach pains in Hilton Head, more and more ads and now a mandatory much-watch Mah Jomg ad before news can be accessed. Delete.

I deleted this app due to the extremely liberal slant in all of their reporting. I’m so sick of Trump/Republican/conservative bashing by all of the media!

Multiple times I have gotten spam ads for a fake virus on my iPhone. This is unacceptable for a service like this. You must review ads before allowing them to be posted to users. I’m deleting the app.

They allow scam ads and they know their customers/audience are old people and will fall for it

Alright app, people spill incorrect information on politics, and you expect me to pay $5.99 a month to see non accurate content? I’ll get a subscription with Public Opinion thatnks very much. Otherwise the app is alright, was before than.

If that's the new model that we have to pay for newly invented premium version to be able to read AI compiled news articles. I will uninstall the app

This app is not news but political identity factors. The national Enquirer has better articles. This app is not news but personal garbage information.

I like the news aspect of this app, it is overrun with ads portrayed as news, but the biggest frustration is that after a couple of days, the links to stories won’t open and I have to remove and reload the app. Oh, and they want me to subscribe to premium. Fix the app first and I might consider subscribing.

Been using it for some time and pretty decent. All good things come to an end from pop ups, ads and now forced to go premium it’s time to abandon.

I offloaded newsbreak from my local area wasn’t impressed with it after a while. Suddenly, I got an alert from newsbreak about a tornado warning for my area and the news are saying something about a tornado report so I’m having a straight up full-blown PTSD panic attack. TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON AND THE VOLUME GOES OUT ON THE VIDEO AND I KEEP PRESSING THE BUTTON AND IT’S LIKE I DON’T KNOW WHAT THIS MAN IS SAYING HE GOT BACK TO ME ON THE SCREEN AND I’M JUST WAITING FOR THE SIRENS TO START AGAIN LIKE THEY DID LAST WEEK AND THAT AND THEN IT POPS ON RIGHT AT THE END SAYS WE’LL UPDATE THE WEATHER FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY IN A LITTLE BIT TODAY IS MONDAY AT 7 O’CLOCK OR 8 O’CLOCK WHENEVER THE HECK 7 O’CLOCK AND I GOT THIS ALERT AND IT’S FOR TWO DAYS AGO HENCE WHY I GOT RID OF IT THAT’S INCREDULOUS QUITE HONESTLY SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE FIXED WITH YOU DELIVERY SYSTEM OF PERTINENT CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER ALERTS .
