Their products used to be great pro-sumer level stuff but they went along and made it so you need a network engineering degree to use it now and it is so painfully slow. 80% of the time the dashboard times-out loading (oh and good luck getting logged on with the 2FA in time for your code to work), and just about any other page you want to look at. Sure it looks pretty on the shelf but it’s a barely functioning piece of bloatware.

I am an installer for a very large company and have installed many ruckus, access networks, and netgear component networks. This is my first time attempting to install Unifi and none of the directions work. I am trying to contact support and there is no way to get in touch of a person while I’m on site. I will make sure my nation wide company does its best to avoid Ubiquiti.

The app is very comprehensive, but very inaccessible for totally blind users. Many of the buttons and workflows are unlabeled. and the app is a challenge to use for network management. As it stands right now, the app does violate accessibility statutes in the US and EU.

The equipment works great. The app sucks. It takes forever to adopt devices and half the time it won’t adopt because it’s reading the device wrong. The controller sees the device as a router but keeps trying to adopt it as a stand alone AP. Ridiculous

This new version broke the app.. I was able to open the application and opened directly the last selected dashboard (my site (not the Default which is empty - i am taking about the new unifi os server version 5.0.6 that unifi is pushing to upgrade to)) so now it always opens to the Default site, when i switch to my site the dashboard shows empty as well, the fix is click other several bottom options a couple of times and the dashboard information appears - this is not good. Also, they took away the option to create scheduled backups (settings > system > backup, the ‘backup’ option is gone!!) this critical and it should comeback!! This is for selfhosting installation.. If you do not want to loose the backup option Do NOT upgrade.. also the dashboard issue is very annoying.. i wash there was a way to install the previous version.. be warned.

It’s upsetting that not all the options available in web page are not in the app. The app holds on to stale info. It has to be quit and started again to get new information displayed. It’s unknown when the info is up to date or not. Unreliable.

The latest update of UniFi is unfortunately very unstable. Every time I navigate to the Devices section, the app crashes immediately and restarts. This makes it almost impossible to manage my network effectively. Before this update, the app was reliable and worked as expected, but now it’s disrupting basic functionality. For a network management tool, stability is critical, and this version falls short. Please address this issue urgently. Until then, I would recommend holding off on updating if you rely on the app for daily use.

The most recent version of the app has broken the ability to connect to our base station directly (remote access disabled), locking us out of the system. App insists on routing through Unifi cloud, regardless of tapping the Unifi base station (with “Direct” label).

I have disabled the push notification setting of “Device Updates Statuses”, but the push notifications still keep coming when updates come out for systems I have added to my system. I have reported this directly via email as a bug a year ago but it never got a response. Hence going the negative review route to see if that helps get this bug report attention instead.

I have never set up ANY IT equipment with such a poor onboarding. Tells me no internet for 2 hours then starts an update and gets stuck in a boot loop. Maybe stop paying influencers and fix your products. eero is far superior in every way.

The presentation of data I’ve seen while researching this app is awesome. However, in the world of increased surveillance, where user data is sold off to only God knows who, an app to manage my personal home network MUST not participate in that data grabbing culture. No data should be collected. Period. I will admit that I don’t know if that is only user login data that’s captured, but “usage data”, combined with the app asking to look for devices on my local network, I’d rather stick with the default router software, even though I know they are probably snooping my data too. Why give that to another company? If anyone can prove to me what data is gathered by the company via this app and associated accounts, I might give it a proper try. Bonus points for no in app purchases. That’ll earn it two stars.

After trying to set up a VLAN and having to factory reset my cloud gateway because it completely shut down my whole network including access to the gateway, now that I had to start over configuring everything, the app keeps demanding an email MFA code. So I added an authentication MFA, and now it keeps asking for that, even though my device is trusted. I tried to sign out, but I doesn’t actually sign out. It just lets my enter again with the same user, and keeps prompting for the MFA (which it can’t autofill from 1Password, so I have to switch apps and copy paste. It’s not asking for my passkey either. Long story short, if this is an indication of the competence of the people managing security for my network, I might just return all the hardware I just bought.

This app is trash. So many bugs all the time. Extremely frustrating. Sometimes I can see devices. Sometimes not. I have wireless speed limits set up and sometimes they show up as an option for a device, sometimes not. It’s like a box of chocolates using this app. You never know what you’re going to get…what’s going to work, or not work, at any given time. I am ready to leave Ubiquiti for good. They’ve made their management interface less and less usable over the years. Very annoying.

Hello, I just updated to UniFi version 10.29.0, and the new menu design is really disappointing. I use the app in dark mode, but after this update, the main menu is now white instead of fully dark as before. This creates a harsh contrast and makes it very uncomfortable to use, especially in low-light environments. Please revert the dark mode menu to the way it was in previous versions —completely dark— or at least give us an option to restore the old dark theme. Thank you for your attention.

Have used the UniFi app to manage a few different accounts over the years. Home use and at another site as well. We upgraded to the new firewall feature and it seems that the speed limit “action” feature previously found at Settings > Security > Traffic & Firewall Rules was removed. The new firewall doesn’t provide this traffic feature. I know it’s missing because the other account I manage wasn’t upgraded to the new firewall and the throttle rules I have in place are still visible (we have a rule set that throttles certain devices during certain hours). But for the new firewall settings, those rules do not show at all in the app. I can see them and manage them on desktop, maybe under Routing but I can’t recall at present time, though my access to a desktop PC isn’t always available. Please re-add that and thanks.

Since the latest system update (18.6) on iPhone I no longer am able to access my wifi. I reached out to support several times for help with no response. I have since purchased a different Wifi system that works and has a stronger reach.

Everything is updated and brand new. The AP appears on the app but it loops to the beginning when you try to adopt an AP. Works fine with the android app. Also doesn’t appear on device tab, only under site manager

It shows my sites configured but when I select it it’s stuck in the loading state. No indication of what is going on or any helpful error message. It’s been like this for months. I’ve tried logging in and out, reinstalling the app, no dice. Luckily the web client works so I can manage my network but the app does not.

With this latest app update broke the ability to select what WAN port for Speedtest. The previous version allowed you to select what WAN port for Speed test, it will only do a speed test on the primary WAN, not secondary WAN port.

Since the update, any new device added displays an error message saying the device was not managed by this console. The desktop app sees the device fine and shows its functioning. I have to uninstall and reinstall and then the device shows up normally in the app. This happened with a new u7 outdoor, u7 in wall and u7 pro max.

Wrote a review about a month ago regarding the app not showing what AP a wireless device is connected to. Well we seem to have gone in reverse, not only did the latest update not bring it back, it also removed what network a device connected to. You guys are loosing your edge here!

Always thought highly of this company when I used amplifi. UniFi is such a hot mess compared to amplifi. Reliability is tossed to the side just to throw as many features as possible at the customer. I would easily opt for a more reliable product over features, most of which, I’ll never use. Please fix the dream machine 7 because this is bad.

The newest updates for what has changed is not actually reflective on the app. Only noticeable change is the font size got bigger and doesn’t adhere to phone font size setting. Update: UI replied and advised the app updates require a network version that is unreleased. UI failed to address the font issue. Seems UI misleading again.

Some things require a desktop pc, other things from desktop say the mobile app is required. The entire unifi network ecosystem lacks several basic networking features, any attempt to customize your network beyond the limited defaults cause unexpected issues. Constant reports of devices disconnecting despite being hard wired. Bugs galore, support is laughable at best (if you can even get a reply to your tickets at all). Unifi is SOHO at best, anyone using this in an smb capacity likely got duped by unifi's marketing. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL GRADE HARDWARE and if you need support or reliability I'd strongly encourage you to LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR HARDWARE. Any company who sticks this much money into marketing while providing zero support is one to be avoided at all costs. It "just works" until it doesn't, then you're stuck troubleshooting unifi's bugs on your own because their support refuses to help. Do yourself a favor and learn networking properly, then invest in literally anything else. Enterprise grade switches from ebay would outperform a unifi setup for half the cost with only minimal manual setup. I'm embarrassed to have believed the hype, the hardware looks pretty but doesn't work any better than a netgear switch from best buy, and you'd have far better customer service and support with the latter. I'd encourage anyone reading this to look at literally any other brand, even the Chinese ones. Ubiquiti and it's products are complete and utter trash.

This update removed vital information on wifi devices. Instead of improving these statistics someone “intelligent” decided to remove them and make it more difficult to identify. Traffic Activity is now a joke, much like whoever made this decision. Simplicity is not a better option for this app, fix this problem. I am disappointed. 03/06/2025.

The app is complete garbage as of a couple updates ago. Most of the time it won’t even connect and I end up having to access from my PC browser. Pretty pathetic when you look at how much this system costs

Or it fine with my usg3 but since upgrading the network to run UXG max now the app can’t find any devices. Tried everything switching on everything switching off everything Wi-Fi man finds my devices, but unified network management app cannot find anything and then also started telling me that there’s no Wi-Fi which I’m running on Wi-Fi as I use the app. I think there’s a lot of bugs or perhaps unify is going in a different direction away from small network support

I have wanted to upgrade to ubiquiti network for awhile and finally made the switch. The router and an extender in my front yard and back yard covers the whole property easily. The ease and level of available system controls is awesome and better than any router I have ever used.
