Once they have your credit card information, they make it impossible for you to cancel. Absolutely a nightmare. The free trial is a bait, they don’t let you see what the app is really about until they get your information and then good luck getting it to cancel.

I’ve been trying for weeks to figure out how to stop this app from taking a payment from my Apple Cash! They are trying to take $69.99 because I did a trial three days through the Planet Fitness app and evidently there was also another three day trial directly through the Fitbod app that’s trying to take out $95.99, but they are trying to charge me both charges and trying to take payment out like six times a day! I have gone through every way possible to get this to stop and I cannot get in touch with Fitbod by email because no one is emailing me back and there is no phone number anywhere. I’ve even talked to Apple and they cannot make the charges stop. Please contact me and make these payments stop!

I’ve been using this app for over five years, and it’s been one of the best fitness apps I’ve found. The flexibility to choose the muscle groups I wanted to train and build my own workouts is exactly why I’ve stayed with it for so long.
Unfortunately, the latest update has made that flexibility too difficult. Instead of letting me quickly select the muscles I want to work, the app now pushes me into a guided workout flow that I don’t want to use. It feels like the app is telling me how to work out instead of supporting the way I already train.
Please bring back the simple option to pick muscle groups and build a workout. Long-time users don’t all want a prescribed program. Sometimes we just want to train what we want, when we want, without jumping through extra steps.
Just ok

The videos are helpful, but the app vastly underestimates the number of reps and weight I can lift. For example it suggests 3 pound weight for dumbbell curls. I am doing 12-15 lb for more reps.

-Timer can’t be paused
-Targeted muscles aren’t shown in workouts—you have to dig to find them
-I wanted a full body workout in one workout and it simply would not do all the body in one workout. Kept breaking the workouts into torso, lower, upper or a combo of two but never three. So I had to build it myself.
The demonstration videos are helpful.
Overall worth more like $25

I went through the trial period for this app and found that I didn’t like for myself. I went ahead and unsubscribed from the trial a bit late and it attempted to charge my apple cash. Over the past two months I’ve contacted support multiple times and even deleted my FITBOD account in attempt to stop unsuccessful the charges with no success. I do not suggest this app simply based on support responsiveness and be careful signing up for the free trial if you’re forgetful like me.

App update IS HORRIBLE

You guys actually made the app so much worse with this most recent update. Did you even consumer test it with your current consumer base before you launched it? It’s absolute garbage. Change it back.
Also, I gave you feedback long ago that you never responded to. I kept it below for your reference. You’re still not providing any ability to adjust equipment limitations in the gym other than disliking whether or not the gym has the equipment or not. And there still no support for injuries. I don’t need something giving me a bunch of exercises. They’re going to stress. Part of my body that are already in pain due to an injury.
That said, the app needs improvements. I need to be able to adjust the workout to the limitations of the equipment. It keeps asking for higher weights than the machine machines are capable of. I feel like a penalizes your strength rating when you’re logging sets at lower weight than what it’s recommending. Sometimes it has nothing to do with what I’m capable of and more to do with limitations of the gym. It should be adjusting reps to match the machine capabilities.
Also, at 49 old I have some aches and pains that are more chronic than just workout related. It would be great if there is someway for me log injuries such that it could help me either rehab that area or avoid putting an additional strain on that area that’s going to make it worse. It just puts me in a position of having to adjust the workout myself, which I feel defeats the purpose of the app

I really want to love Fitbod, but I’m now 48 hours into a 7-day trial and still haven’t been able to use the app.
I signed up using Apple’s “Hide My Email” and Single Sign-On. When trying to access my account via webpage, there’s no password option because Apple SSO doesn’t provide one. I submitted a support ticket with screenshots and all the information needed for what should be a simple password reset.
Two days/ 48+hrs later, I’ve received nothing but an automated response telling me not to submit multiple tickets because it will delay support. There’s no phone number, no live chat, no email address, and no indication of expected response times or service levels. The only option is a web form and waiting.
As someone who works in Customer Success leadership, I understand support queues happen, but having customers burn through a 7-day trial while waiting for a response… with no communication, is unacceptable. A basic account access issue shouldn’t require days of silence.
I’m not reviewing the workouts, I haven’t been able to use them. I’m reviewing the customer experience, and so it has been disappointing.

I downloaded this app for the pure purpose of tracking and calculating weight increases for hypertrophy and strength. I built my own workout plans in the saved plans option based on my routine. Each week, the same exact weight amounts are calculated for me despite me choosing to calculate new weights. So now I have to roughly guess the incremental weekly increases I want to target and track my history to see if my progress is on track. Hoping they fix this bug as I do like the app otherwise.

The app has a lot of bells and whistles to play with. However, the core of the app is broken. For example, if you have two profiles, one is for working at out the gym and the other is for working exclusively at home. If you mark you do not have certain equipment for one profile, both profiles will remove that equipment. This leads to increasingly bland workouts. The app didn’t recommend squats for legs for over 3 months before I gave up. The algorithm favors a few exercises even if you ask for new exercises every-time. I would recommend a different app

This app is alright if you don’t know a lot or not creative in your gym routine. There is multiple times where I would have to change workouts to make it make sense, because who’s doing Lat pulldown warm up reps of 6 with 130( the machine goes from 110-120, I have to do some weight scavenging) than straight into 4 sets of 8 with 225. The AI algorithm is really bad in this app as it put workouts together that will just burned you out or switching up focusing on different muscle group when you are already targeting a specific one. Great for beginners but don’t bother if you know what you are doing, Ladder is a league better than this.

Been using the app for a while now and can’t seem to get a good solid leg workout generated. I’m wanting more focus on legs yet the app keeps pushing upper body workouts which I easily finish. Meanwhile the leg workouts generated are disproportionately difficult or focused on areas I’m not working out. I’ve tweaked and specified as much as the app will allow but it consistently shows minimal effort for legs while upper body gets more attention.
The calorie count is as inaccurate as can be at the end of a workout. I’ll spend 1.5/1.6 hours on a leg workout with 13 exercises and it will say I only burned 400ish calories while I do 13 exercises on an upper body day for only an hour and it will say I burned 500-600 calories.
Long story short is it disproportionately builds workouts based on your “estimated effort” which prevents getting workouts generated on areas I want to focus on.

The algorithm is way off, even after months of using it. It’ll frequently underestimate or overestimate target weight and reps even for focus exercises. There is no workout where I don’t have to manually adjust weights and sets for one or two exercises. It doesn’t understand that if you do 3 tricep exercises on one day that the last one won’t be at the same level as previously when it was first that day.
At this point it’s just an exercise suggestion for me but everything else I do manually.

I just spent 90 minutes excluding exercises one by one because I have trigger finger and can't do anything grip-heavy until it heals. That's roughly 200+ exercises across multiple muscle groups (back, biceps, triceps, chest, forearms, shoulders, plus specific grip-loaded movements within legs and core) that I had to individually tap into and toggle off, one at a time.
This should have taken 5 minutes, not 90.
There is no bulk select. There is no "exclude entire muscle group" option. There is no filter by equipment requirement or grip requirement. Every single exercise requires you to tap in, toggle, tap back out, find the next one in the alphabetical list, repeat. The UX assumes you only need to exclude a handful of exercises, when the real use case for exclusions is medical limitations or injury, which usually means excluding entire categories.
What would fix this:
1. Bulk select with checkboxes in the exercise list view. Let me select 20 exercises and exclude them in one action.
2. "Exclude all exercises in this muscle group" toggle at the muscle group level. If I have a shoulder injury, let me exclude all shoulder exercises in one tap, not 40.
3. Filter by exercise attribute. Let me filter to "all exercises requiring grip" or "all exercises with bodyweight on hands" and bulk-exclude that filtered set.
4. Use-case templates. "I have a wrist injury," "I have a knee injury," "I have trigger finger," auto-applies sensible exclusions that the user can then adjust.
Fitbod is otherwise a good app and I want to use it. But the onboarding for anyone with a real physical limitation is brutal, and 90 minutes of tapping is genuinely going to make people quit before their first workout. The people who most need adaptive programming (injured, older, recovering) are the ones being punished by the current UX.
Fix the bulk select problem and you'll have a much stickier product.

However, within the last few months, they have clearly implemented AI and it is starting to suck. They are suggesting I work out the same muscle the very next day and grouping workouts that don’t make any sense to what it should have learned about me for years.

This app has become terrible . For the second week in a row, it has signed me out, and I lost all my saved workouts. I was able to recover some of them from the days I completed them, but ever since the update, my data keeps disappearing. It’s really frustrating, especially since I pay for the service.

The app will no longer allow me to create my own workout plan. Stalls at adding barbell bench press. Do not waste your money on a subscription.
