Lack of options

It’s an ok basic app. I downloaded it as I am recovering from an achilles tendon rupture. I wanted to do a three day split, push, pull and then General. Or else push pull and cardio or core. Unfortunately, the only option this app has for a three day split is push pull and leg. There is no way to remove leg day or add a cardio or core day instead

Works well to track your progress, but updates are few and far between

Unknown · 2026/06/02 07:16 · papilexus

1

Works well to track your progress, but updates are few and far between. For a €80,- a year subscription I would have expected more updates as well as more variety in exercises. The ability to add your own exercises or variations on existing exercises in the app would be nice.

Used this app for two years, but got tired of the technical ‘issues’ I was struggling with. They are constantly ‘improving’ the app, which I applaud, but unfortunately this results in unexpected problems and annoyances. At some point the app was constantly recommending almost the same exercises. I like ‘variety’. Then there’s the problems with the Fitted Apple Watch app, which is very important for me; the apple watch app keeps going ‘to the background’ instead of staying on focus. My experience with Fitted support is that they seem to take things seriously, but unfortunately don’t seem to be able to really resolve the issues. And if they don’t resolve them you either get an excuse like ‘Apple changed things’ or ‘It’s not a bug, it’s a new feature.’ I’m switching to Motra, which also has AI generated workouts and has very advanced exercise ‘AI recognition’ on the Apple watch. Not that it’s perfect but giving something else a try, hoping it’s ‘stabler’.

MÉTODO ERRADO

Unknown · 2025/11/21 15:27 · Ostrowska

1

Too be honest it’s a super outdated app, not very user friendly or functional, no Ai features as mentioned in the ad. Just has basic exercises which you still have to put together yourself. Not worth to be paying for at all, the advertisement is completely false. Save your money, there are way better free fitness apps out there.

Cons: 1. Exercise selection is odd and it prioritize body-weight exercise, even when equipment is available. Body-weight is sub optimal for body building as you cannot do progressive overload. 2. Calore calculation is way overestimated. I use the app on the Apple Watch with HR monitor. 1 hour of back and shoulders, single exercises, no supersets, cannot be 740 calories. That is higher than my one hour on the bicycle trainer in zone 3, or 1 hour intense session on the elliptical. Pros: 1. I like the interface and how exercises are clearly explained with video. 2. The muscle recovery tab is very helpful.

Glitchy, keeps restarting and some sets don’t show when pressed

Unknown · 2022/08/08 12:38 · Arianrhod

Tremendously disappointed by this app lately. Generating workouts take forever, sometimes they dont show at all and I’m just sitting, waiting for the spinning wheels to stop. Was just halfway through the workout when it stopped working, I couldn’t get into an exercise to see how many reps and log sets. Went out (didn’t quit app) and came back in only to find they were generating a new workout when I didn’t even finish the last one. Really really terrible! What happened? I used to subscribe and used it daily. I cancelled my subscription for the next cycle some months back (gyms have reopened) but I believe my current subscription IS STILL VALID. Are you purposely making this app glitchy once we cancel or what’s up???

I have been using this app/service for about a year and a half. My first year was great, the app was giving me great advice on how many sets and what exercises I should do. For the past x amount of months, using this service has been a constant war between common sense and the algorithm it uses. Every time I open the app and it generates a new workout for me, my mind is blown. Here are a couple of examples: 1. My shoulders are at 15% of recovery. I just trained them two days ago, yet the app wants me to do three exercise for shoulders and each exercise has 4 sets of a heavy weight. Why? 2. Since the recommendations have gotten worse for the past weeks, I try to do my own workout. However, the app often recommends me to do 6 sets of every move that I specifically choose. It's absolute madness. I understand that 3 sets of an exercise isn't the golden rule but why so many sets with a heavy weight when I am trying to do various exercises for a specific muscle? It makes no sense at all. 3. I tell the app to make 1 hour workouts in the settings yet these workouts last 90 minutes. Rest time is often unreasonably long. I look at what the app recommends me to do for a legs workout and it's virtually impossible to complete within 60 minutes. 4. Another issue that I have is that the app just blatantly ignores what I wish to do. I select calves when I create a workout and it just ignores it. Calves doesn't appear in the workout. I sometimes try to add forearm exercises to my workouts and once again, the app just says "nope". In the end, I understand that this is just an app and we haven't gotten to the point where we are paying for a virtual personal trainer. I also understand that if I have my own preferences that I should just "create my workout from scratch". If that is the case, then why am I paying for a yearly subscription when I can just use a cheap and simple training app that I only pay for once. I see wonderful reviews for this service and honestly I was happy the first year, unfortunately I've gotten to a point where I just don't want to fight with this app/service anymore. Am I the only one who has this problem?

This app makes me want to throw my iPhone at the walls of my gym while working out. Let me tell you, I absolutely love what this app intends to do and everything seems to be working fine. Problem: when I’m tracking a workout, it keeps taking me back to the workout screen. I’m trying to enter the reps and weight but the app keeps taking me back to the previous screen. I really wanted to try the paid version but working out with this problem has become extremely frustrating especially when I’m gasping for breath. Fix this bug and I swear I will go for the paid version and I’ll change this to a 5 star. Thanks

I have paid for personal trainers and none of them have considered my muscle recovery time, shown me my progress or provided workout variety like FitBod. When I travel frequently for work no matter what equipment is available to me I know Fitbod has me covered. The best app I’ve ever purchased and will use for life. The money I’ve saved on PTs and gym membership has been invested in my own home gym.

Absolute Empfehlung!

Perfect app for all people who want to build muscle.

5 years. No other app has kept me this consistent — not even close.

Unknown · 2026/04/18 00:32 · Zapp Norris

Fitbod has been my training partner since day one, and what makes it truly exceptional is how effortlessly it adapts to my life. Hotel gym on vacation? Covered. Only 15 minutes before a meeting? It builds a workout around that. Just bodyweight at home? No problem. There is literally no excuse not to train, and that’s exactly why I keep showing up. The automatic adaptation to my available equipment and recovery state is what separates Fitbod from everything else I’ve tried. It doesn’t require me to think — it just gives me the right workout for the right moment, every single time. That intelligence is what has kept me motivated without interruption for five straight years. One feature I’d love to see added: the ability to exclude injured muscles. It’s the one missing piece that would make an already outstanding app truly perfect. If you’re looking for a fitness app you’ll actually stick with long-term, this is it. Fitbod doesn’t just track your workouts — it earns your consistency.

Overall I think this is a great app at a reasonable price that does exactly what I want. The only thing I think could improve is the usability of the interface - it is often not very intuitive or easy to use. But again in the core it’s what I want.

First and foremost, I like the app and would recommend it to the average person who’s just looking to get in shape. However, I wish the app would work seamlessly across all my devices. For example, if I’m using my iPhone to follow the workout and I turn to my watch the application crashes. Also, even though I’m signed in through all my devices with the same account the workouts are all different in each of them. It also doesn’t allow me to list a schedule of when I want to workout, example Mon, Tuesday workout Wednesday rest,Thursday Friday workout Saturday rest. I hope this helps the developers because all in all I do like the app and I feel like it’s been helping me. I’m 4 weeks in and I’m starting to feel positive results

Great app with really good workouts. The exercises are effective and easy to follow. The only suggestion would be to include a specific pregnancy workout mode, with ready-made routines, instead of requiring pregnant users to build their own workouts. Overall, I highly recommend it!

This app is beautiful to get started in the gym, it defines trainings and add new exercises over time. A great way to get started to get used to the gym and to learn in a playful way. But sometimes the exercises are off, switching to random weights or random repetitions. And when you want to get serious with it you are better off creating your own traininga and saving them. So at some point the app gets lets useful if you are mkre advanced. Even though i like the app, im currently seeking for alternatives.

Best gym app

I have tried many many fitness and gym apps and I think Fitbod is the best. It allow me to review all my exercise , change the ones I don’t like, and have a plan also for stretching in the end of the workout. I simply love it. But there is always room for improvements, I think the most needed improvements is a better interface of the app (look at smart gym for instance) and the most needed thing is a better APPLE WATCH APP! It needs an app that is independent from the phone app so I don’t need to bring it with me. And also that pays more attention to live hearth rate and calories spent. Please do improve the interface (look at a more Liquid Glass approach) and the Apple Watch app and I think you have the foundation to be the best app ever for fitness and gym. Hope we will see this improvement soon, bug overall you are a 5 star to me. Keep the work up !

Great for dynamic routines

Unknown · 2025/09/12 13:33 · screid123

I’m enjoying this app. It gives me time-boxed routines for the gym and keeps exercises “fresh” by rotating based on target muscle groups and their estimated recovery/fatigue. You can also ask certain exercises to be recommended more often or less often (or not at all), and swapping out for a different one based on target muscle group is a nice touch. It would be 5-stars if it weren’t for the Apple Watch syncing issues. I like leaving my phone in a locker and running everything from my watch, which was easy with competitors like Hevy or Strong. Sometimes the watch app freezes during a rest period (timers don’t animate, buttons can’t be touched) but will fix itself after the timer is done). The most annoying is that occasionally my workout will not sync with Apple Health when finished. No big deal, right? Just “resume” from the phone and stop it again… but then it renames the workout to the same thing every time (in my case “Lower body day”, even though the targeted muscle groups may be completely upper body). Annoying when looking back through a week to see several of the “same” workouts in a row. It also occasionally re-orders or creates supersets of the sets I already did when doing this presumably because the option is “resume and refresh” which maybe should just be “resume”. Also, provide an option to just update a logged workout’s details to allow editing of sets, reps, order, and workout title, etc. without inserting any “AI logic”.

Been using this app for the last 2 years. When you have kids and less time to prepare your workout this AI generated workouts are a life saver. Highly recommended to get to your personal goals and actually visualize your results as well. I would just ask the developers to add the drop set feature in the next update maybe.

Although I am logged into the same Fitbod account on my iPhone and MacBook, they are not in sync. The macOS app requires me to set everything (profile, settings, equipment, etc.) up again.

Great alternative to expensive personal trainer

Unknown · 2024/12/09 14:17 · alexander .d

The fit bod app at the beginning when I started like 5 months ago was seemingly out of date, through this past 5 months I’ve seen great improvements to the ai generating my workouts. The only thing that could make this app better is more personalization ability for the user like simple small things for the user to feel that this app is a customized and tailored for the user. That could encompass the users ability to change the color of the background, seasonal theming, or even something as small as changing the sound of the alarms the app tells you to move on to the next set. A problem I face using the app is once the work out is started you are not allowed to navigate the rest of the very limited app unless you end your work out, and then navigating the homed page you see your list of work outs / body composition / goals / and logged works. There should be a tab or something to locate your personal records with out having to individually look all of them up. Lastly the forcefully promoting your app when your trying to just show friends and family your workouts via the share button needs to be stopped just promote your app on the photo card itself don’t type out a long promotional ad at the bottom of the text box. Over all this app has helped me big time to get closer and closer to my fitness goals and will be renewing my yearly subscription again(which is like 200$ cheaper than a real personal trainer)!!!!!!

It’s time to review

I’ve been using this app for about 6 years on and off and I find myself coming back to it and recommending it to other people. Some of my favorite things: You get to create different gym profiles, I personally have one for at-home workouts and for gyms that I go to. Because of this, you won’t get recommended workouts with equipment that you don’t have. While working out, you can easily replace a workout if you want something else and best recommendations are given based on what you are replacing. If those recommendations aren’t enough, you can scroll through a whole bunch of other workouts based on what muscle group you are replacing. If a specific machine is being used you can also rearrange the order of your exercises and come back later. The rest breaks are timed so you can stay on track on when to get on with your next set. I usually look at my upcoming workout before heading to the gym and edit the workouts based on what I know works for me (workouts that are easy on my lower back) and I can even set the app to stop recommending workouts that I know I won’t ever do altogether. I do wish there was a pause button on the app just in case something happens and you have to stop working out for whatever reason, the clock keeps going. I’m weird about logging exact times that I worked out. But you can go back to edit workout duration time. So is it really a con? Anywho, I love this app. I recommend if you want your own personal trainer for cheap or are running out juice to keep going at the gym.

App works well for me to be flexible with my workouts. i pair the app with my applewatch 9 series. The app provides good countdowns between sets which you can control on your watch and use your phone for the demo videos. Going with the SE watch is probably is better as its cheaper. the calculations and muscle progress screen is awesome, totally love that! Things what i would like to see added hopefully if possible. Preload your weights and tools settings create a fixed week roster with weights that repeats. Block certain excersized, there is a dont show again feature but doesnt seem to work for me. Have a chatbot to fix a schedule add optimize or remove tools and weights. And lastly have an option to time breaks pauses after you finnish a set. Definently worth a try!

Suggested exercises doesn’t fit with target duration

Unknown · 2024/08/17 10:51 · ZuperbNK

Don’t know why somehow Fitbod suggests 11 exercises for 1hr duration. Normally there will be approx.4-5 exercises. I can’t use the suggested plan properly and need to adjust the plan myself. It happens for quite a while, don’t know it’s about the updated app version or not?!

Love the app but…

Unknown · 2024/06/30 06:43 · chialikeishallgrow

5

Firstly I love the app. It’s a little expensive for what it is, and how little has changed since I started using it over a year ago. That being. Said I’ve been inconsistently working out over the last few years and this app has finally helped me be consistent. I like the gifs that show me how to do a workout, that has been really nice and has kept me safe. The main issue I have is that sometimes I forget to end my workout. This wreaks HAVOC on Apple’s Fitness rings. Even if I end workout>disable sync with Apple health>edit workout duration, I have to resume and refresh the workout, end the workout, then turn on the switch for sync Apple health for my rings to update on the Fitness app. It always gets my calories right but it KILLS my workout minutes. It logs them as 299 minutes, despite the Fitbod app showing a 1 hour duration. This is not fixable on Apple’s side without deleting my entire health history and starting everything over. Trust me, I’ve tried to get in contact with engineering and deleting workout data and adding it back in. Nothing works. Secondly my main feedback is to please please please let me edit the workout duration WHILE I’m working out. Whether I forget to start my workout right on time or forget to end it on time, I shouldn’t have to jump through so many hoops to try to “fix” my workout duration. Even if I fix all of the data in Fitbod and the Health app and the Fitness app, my badges for my Fitness app are screwed and unrepairable because it’s pulling the “hours” of workout data from somewhere.

Thanks to Fitbod, I was able to stay on track with my fitness goals even while traveling across the country last year. What sets Fitbod apart is its ability to create individual gym profiles based on the available equipment, which has been a game-changer for me when I'm on the go. Overall, I highly recommend Fitbod to anyone looking for a personalized, flexible fitness coach that can keep up with their busy lifestyle.

Great app!

A great app that provides all the direction you need for a strength training program. The way you can customise your goals to get the right work outs and also adjust specifics of the app generated workouts is brilliant. Fitbod has helped my strength training progress a massive amount! I would recommend it to anyone.

10 months later and very happy with my progress

I wanted to wait a while before reviewing this app to really be fair. I’ve been consistently weightlifting by following its programming for the past 10 months and I’m very impressed and happy with my results! Seeing my 2022 recap really put things into perspective. I really like how this app recommends specific weights and set/rep counts. It celebrates new PRs in weight, projected 1 rep max, rep count, and volume, which adds a nice layer of gamification to help with motivation. It’s really nice to have the exercises switch up too, to keep things interesting. I’ve also appreciated the recent UI updates. It used to be a bit awkward and unintuitive to change between different gym settings (standard, at home, etc.), or different splits. Now these are on the main screen of the app. I’ve recommended this app to my fellow gym rat friends and I recommend it to anyone else who wants to get stronger without hiring a (human) personal trainer.

Great App for Consistency

I have been working out on and off since high school (30 plus years). However, finding the consistency and motivation has been challenging. I have read countless articles about different weight lifting plans and have tried / failed at most of them. Fitbod, however, changed all of that. When it comes to using this app, I never have to think about what exercises I should do because it does the work for me. You are able to pick workout types based on preference. For example, push/pull, upset body/lower body, full body, etc. each exercise is also explained and demonstrated to cover different learning styles, visual, kinetic, etc. the app keep track of what you did in the last workout and applies weight suggestions which can always be Chandra up or down depending on how you are filling. There is also a countdown between sets and finished workouts can be posted to different social media sites, Strava for example. Yes, this site does make suggestions to share the app with others, to post personal records, etc., in an attempt to attract more users. But, it’s simple as hitting the X or saying no if that’s not your cup of tea. All in all, for what you get, the paid version is worth it to mr and, after my year subscription is up in the next few weeks, I will be re-upping for another year. You can tell they put a lot of thought into this app and this is my jam for sure. Consider giving it a try. Be a better you like I am becoming a better me!

Always motivates and pushes me to better. Let’s me decide what is comfortable for me and what I can do and up to what limit my body can take. Helps me listen to my body and thereby I never had any injuries. Instructions are very clear and if something does not work I can replace the exercise. Love it.

Ultimate gym app

I have been using this app for a couple of years now, and it's pretty good even though I sometimes feel it has trouble taking rest days or long breaks into consideration. Progress overview and analytics are also quite limited, and the app is slow to add new features. Even simple things such as lifetime achievements are not accessible for users.

Great App That’s VERY Customizable

Unknown · 2021/12/12 19:23 · Camille1919

I love using this app for my strength training. The developer did a great job making it user friendly, customizable, and effective. It gives me way more customization options than any of the other apps I have found, and I have tried a lot. You can get your profile to beginner, intermediate or advanced, and you set your goal of toning, building, etc. You can then customize almost everything….workout time, muscle recovery %, gym equipment you have, exercise you can’t do or want to exclude from workouts, you can swap exercise within the workout for a new one, and the list goes on. The app also provides you with a short video demonstration of each exercise when you click on the exercise within the workout. It is nice to have in case you need a short demo or reminder, but it doesn’t get in the way if you are a more experienced lifter and don’t need it. The app will give you weight and rep recommendations based on your profile settings, but you can change them within workout if they are too hard or easy during the workout. And, it automatically updates the reminding reps in the set when you make a change which is nice. I really can’t say enough about this app. I am not new to working out, and have worked out regularly for many years. However, in my opinion this app would be good for someone who knows proper form but hasn’t lifted for awhile or someone more advanced that is just looking for an app to make sure they are getting a well rounded strength workout.

Great app, but needs some urgent fixes

I love Fitbod. It’s absolutely brilliant. The generated workouts are on point, and I’ve gained a ton of strength and lost a lot of body fat thanks to Fitbod. But there are some really annoying bugs and missing features, which I hope the devs fix: 1) Apple Watch workout doesn’t start automatically like it does with every other app I use. 2) heart rate recovery isn’t being tracked when the workout finishes. I get one or two readings after the workout is over, but not upto the +2 mins point that is shown in apple health and apple fitness 3) equipment weights are fixed. I have adjustable dumbells with esoteric weights, the only way to include these is to round up or down. I should be able to use custom weights 4) there is no way to prefer certain equipment. For example I prefer kettlebell exercises as the movement is more complex compared to dumbbells but I have to manually change this every time. There should be an option to favourite certain equipment and exercises so they appear more often in the workouts.

UX design is bad.

UX design bad. Especially during timed intervals. Buttons are very small hard to press. I wan to be able just to slap phone with hand and do next exercise, also intervals counter bigs if you had to pause to switch to another app. To start timed intervals I have to press tiny timer button and again press play... Why?? Just make all buttons for timed interval x10 bigger. Just split while screen into several big buttons. I don't want to be distracted from exercise and fight with app UI - it breaks your mental flow especially during Hiit
